CHARGED TO ACTION : BAYELSA SHEPHERDESSES TAKE ONEVOICE27 EVANGELISM TO THE COMMUNITY

Yenagoa, Bayelsa — August 24, 2026: The Shepherdess International of the Bayelsa Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has intensified its evangelistic activities, as participants in the ongoing training workshop were challenged to embrace the OneVoice27 initiative and take the gospel beyond the church to the wider community.

The training session featured the presence of Pr. Sampson Kingsley Chinkaa, Evangelism Director of Bayelsa Conference, who charged the shepherdesses to key into OneVoice27 and actively participate in the Conference’s evangelistic vision. He emphasized the importance of translating training into practical mission by reaching people where they live and work.

Responding to the call, the shepherdesses moved from the training venue into the community, storming the popular Mechanic Village along the Tombia–Imiringi Road, a major motor-parts and automobile-repair market in Bayelsa State. There, they engaged mechanics, automobile technicians, traders, and other members of the business community, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and extending an invitation to experience the hope found in Him.

Leading the outreach, Shepherdess Nneoma Abraham, Coordinator of Shepherdess International, Bayelsa Conference, encouraged the audience to respond to God’s invitation of salvation. Drawing from John 3:16, she emphasized that God’s love is extended to everyone and that His desire is for every person to be saved through faith in Jesus Christ.

The outreach provided the shepherdesses with an opportunity to put their training into action, engaging directly with members of the community and sharing messages of hope, salvation, and God’s unfailing love.

The initiative reflects the Bayelsa Conference’s commitment to strengthening members for mission and mobilizing every department for evangelistic impact. Through the OneVoice27 initiative, the Shepherdess International is positioning its members not only to receive spiritual training but also to become active witnesses for Christ in their communities.

The activity served as a practical demonstration that effective evangelism goes beyond the walls of the church, taking the message of salvation to people where they are and giving every believer an opportunity to become a voice for Christ.

BAYELSA CONFERENCE WOMEN’S MINISTRIES VISIT OPOROMA, ENCOURAGES CONGREGATION AND DISTRIBUTES STEPS TO CHRIST

OPOROMA, BAYELSA STATE — In connection with the OneVoice27 Programme, the Women’s Ministries Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bayelsa Conference visited the Adventist congregation in Oporoma, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, as part of efforts to strengthen the Church’s mission and prepare congregations for greater evangelistic impact.

The visit brought women across the state together for a special worship service aimed at strengthening the congregation and reaffirming the Church’s commitment to nurturing members and supporting churches.

The worship service featured an inspiring sermon by the President of Bayelsa Conference, Pastor Abraham Dienibo, who spoke on the theme, “Be Ye Ready.” He challenged the women and the congregation to remain spiritually prepared and faithful in their walk with Christ.

Following the worship service, the women, despite a heavy downpour, went into the Oporoma community to distribute copies of Ellen G. White’s Steps to Christ. The community outreach provided an opportunity for the women to share Christian literature and introduce residents to the message of hope and salvation in Christ.

Speaking during the visit, Pastor Sampson Kingsley C., Director of Evangelism, Communication and OYiM of Bayelsa Conference, commended the Women’s Ministries Department for returning to encourage the congregation years after the establishment of the church.

He likened the visit to the apostolic practice of returning to strengthen congregations that had previously received the gospel, describing the initiative as a demonstration of commitment to the spiritual growth and development of the churches.

The visit also recorded a significant spiritual milestone with the baptism of one soul, adding another member to the family of God.

The Director of Women’s Ministries expressed appreciation for the success of the programme and commended the women for their commitment and support. She said her joy was boundless as she witnessed the growth of the Oporoma congregation, noting that the small congregation established years ago had now given birth to two additional branch Sabbath Schools.

The encouragement visit was attended by Pastor Abraham Dienibo, President of Bayelsa Conference; Pastor Sampson Kingsley C., Director of Evangelism, Communication and OYiM; Elder Francis Asamaowei, Director of Family Ministries; Elder S. K. Bodo; Pastor Nifome Manlife Bekeowei, District Pastor; and other church leaders and women.

At the close of the programme, Pastor Nifome Manlife Bekeowei expressed appreciation to the leaders and women for taking time to visit and encourage the Oporoma congregation.

The visit ended with renewed encouragement for the congregation and a strengthened commitment to the Church’s mission of reaching communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ through the OneVoice27 Programme.
