Eko Synod Women's Guild Holds Maiden Biennial Conference

The Eko Synod Women's Guild of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN), launched its maiden biennial conference on August 29, 2024. Themed "The Conquering Woman of Our Time," the event aimed to empower women to stand firm in challenging times.

Led by President Elder (Mrs) Itohan Chekwas Anaga, the women rallied to sensitize their community on the importance of resilience. Rt. Rev. Daniel Odim (Moderator, Eko Synod) charged the women to "Set themselves apart for divine encounter" (Luke 22:39-42).

Notably, the Yaba Presbytery Women's Guild attended in full.

Conference highlights:
- Study of God's Word
- Spiritual rejuvenation
- Talk on "Gender-Based Violence" by Elder (Mrs) Anaga
- Emphasis on nurturing the boy child
- Importance of courtesy words ("Excuse me," "Please," "Sorry," "Thank you")

The 3-day conference at PCN Ketu Parish, Lagos, concluded with heartfelt worship and praise and awards/ recognitions.

Today, the 7th of March, 2024 in commemoration of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Mothering Week Celebration, the Yaba Presbyterial Women's Guild on Missions, represented by her President, Mrs. Ezinne Okoroji visited a Female Missionary Rev . Eze Nwamaka Grace at Igbogbo Baye Mission Station, Ikorodu in Ikorodu Presbytery of Eko Synod, Lagos State.

As directed by our Desk Coordinator, Rev Dr. Uchenna Chigozie to reach out to female missionaries this period, She was decorated with a wrapper and given an envelope .

Here is wishing all our Mothers in PCN a Happy Mothering Sunday in advance.

The Yaba Presbytery Women's Guild is excited to share pictures from her just concluded workshop.

Here women had the opportunity to gain new skills. They had a chance to learn, network, and meet other like-minded women in our Presbytery .

They learnt:
- The basics of pastry making, including ingredients, equipment, and techniques.
- Making different types of pastry dough.
- Filling and decorating pastries.
- Making different types of pies and pastries.
- Creating special occasion and seasonal pastries.
- Baking techniques etc

The YPWG Maiden Biannual Women Empowerment Project also began on this day with five representatives from the five parishes under Yaba Presbytery - Yaba, Ketu, Bariga, Ebute-Metta and Makoko been empowered after the Pastry making workshop to invest in their businesses.

This Bi-Annual project will continue again in October 2024.

To our maiden Business Empowerment Beneficiaries, it is our hope that you will use what you learned to pursue your dreams and achieve success. This investment will not wither in your time. Amen.
