LET YOUR BLESSINGS BEGET BEAUTY
A simple law of nature states that good should come from good, and it’s widely agreeable. Good seeds, properly taken care of, are expected to yield richly.
When God gives us good things and blesses us, but we misuse those blessings, we’re invariably telling God we no longer want His hands upon us. This is what leads us to be devoured.
Dear friends, God invites us to set our hearts on all that’s good and honourable. This is how we get to bear good vines, how we get to beget beauty from God’s blessings upon us.

FOLLOW THROUGH
Words, anyone can speak them. Promises, anyone can make them, no hassle. The situation becomes serious when actions get involved. We could be termed sweet talkers and agreeable speakers to our brothers, sisters, and even to God, but what makes us actually obedient is how we follow through on those wonderful words with actions. Today, God calls us to be obedient, not just by saying yes, but by following our yes with actions.

HOMILY FOR THE 25TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A)

GOD IS UNUSUAL
Usually, when we’re late, we’d miss out on things, but not with God. God, in his unusual love for us, makes us understand that it’s never too late to call upon him, to turn to him and to be delivered by him. So, don’t let the usual setbacks discourage you from calling on God.
With God, the eleventh hour is just as potent as the first.
That’s unusual, but that’s God for you.

FORGIVE FOR YOURSELF

How many times have we felt justified in demanding what’s our due at all cost? It’s safe to say numerous.
God invites us to carry out our dealings with patience and a heart of forgiveness, following the patience and mercy we have received from Him.
So, while we demand justice, let’s not ignore mercy, for what we give is what we’d receive, and we surely need God’s mercy.
So, forgive for yourself.

HOMILY FOR THE 23RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A)

FULFIL THE DUTY OF LOVE

Do we really think looking out for each other as God’s children is mere courtesy?
That’s a no. We’re obliged to.
God instructs us to love one another and how we do that is by making sure we’re all on the right path, God’s path.
It may feel like a conflicting sentiment, correcting one another, but God tells us to carry out this duty in love.
To fail in this is to share the blame in the damnation of others.
It’s our duty to love, let’s fulfil it.

BE MORE THAN ATTRACTED TO GOD

Being attracted to someone isn’t the same as loving someone. Attraction has to do with being drawn to the pleasant aspects of that person, while love goes deeper in accepting and choosing that person intentionally, especially in difficult moments.
Undoubtedly, there are countless reasons to be attracted to serving God, but God makes us understand that attraction isn’t enough; we have to actually love God and be led to make loving sacrifices as we serve Him.

AFFIRM GODLINESS IN LEADERSHIP

Leadership comes with many privileges, but before that, much more responsibilities. We aren’t to focus on the privileges over the responsibilities. That’s why we need to recognise the place of God when we lead. That we may not get carried away and deem ourselves the ultimate authority, being accountable to none.
Affirming that we’re under God’s authority, no matter our earthly status, is the template for proper leadership as exemplified by St. Peter, the first Pope.
As you lead, be godly.

BELIEVE IN GOD’S ACCEPTANCE

No matter where we’re from, we’re never to feel out of place in God’s house. God has adopted us and made it clear to us that we’re accepted and cherished.
It’s important we believe this as it held us in properly opening our hearts and minds to God.
God unquestionably wants us to feel at home with him.
Why not believe?

HOMILY FOR THE 19TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A)

GOD’S POWER IS NOT BY FORCE
Having the idea that God reveals himself to us only in grand and eruptive ways may lead us to miss out on his revelation and manifestation.
God is all powerful, yet he reveals himself to us in soothing and gentle ways more often. We aren’t to rely of forceful expectations in other to listen to God.
Know that the gentle voice of God is more powerful than any other force.
God’s power doesn’t depend on forcefulness, so our obedience and belief shouldn’t depend on it.

HOMILY FOR THE 18TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A)

SEEK GODLY SATISFACTION
When our bodies are dehydrated and malnourished, we crave water and good food in those respective moments, because they serve the fundamental needs of our bodies. That’s a priceless satisfaction. Even more so, is the satisfaction God invites us to enjoy with him. A satisfaction that caters to the innermost part of our souls.
And you know what? God’s always willing, with open arms, to grant us this satisfaction if righteousness is what we seek.
God’s never too busy to cater to you. Seek to be satisfied by him.
