*Do Not Sell Your Birthright!*

Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in, famished. He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.” “Look, I am about to die,” *Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?*” But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.

__________________
*Why would Esau take his birthright so lightly?* Because he did not understand its value. Genesis 25:34 says Esau “despised” his birthright.
Esau could not have been at the “point to die” by missing one meal, but he revealed how worthless he considers the birthright and what little faith he has in God in selling his birthright.

In our country today, we are about going to vote. Some do not understand the value of their voting right. Some have already sold their voting right, and some are at the verge of selling theirs for a morsel of bread (money, rice, onions, coke, biscuit etc). Don’t be like them. Don’t let deception keep you from your right and doing the right thing.

Remember in Hebrews 12:17 Afterward, as you know, when Esau wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done. That will not be our portion in Jesus name.

*Prayers*
Magnificent Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done during the national and state elections. Your Word states that we are to pray for kings and all people who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by godliness and dignity. We know that this is good and acceptable in Your sight. We declare that the political election process will yield to Your plans. We command peace to be still in and around every polling location. We command Your Word, which we speak with boldness and faith, to interrupt the airwaves and destroy every negative act sent to undermine the voting process. We decree that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name.

*Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and discernment as I exercise my vote*, and confuse the thoughts and messages of masterminds who are behind the evil works against these elections.

You are the eternal King, Your rule is everlasting. All the people of the earth are nothing compared to You. All of Your acts are just and true. The Lord God Almighty is Your Name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Remember to share this message on various groups and platforms and your friends. God bless you real good!

Welcome to 2023!

This year shall be to you a year to be much remembered for great things in Jesus name. Amen.

The end and beginning of a season is a good time to sit down and plan. Most Christians engage in prayer and fasting in January, this is good. However, fasting, prayers and alms giving alone without planning are waste of time. After killing all the enemies, remove all the stumbling blocks, heaves are open and there’s no plan in, it is going back to square one.

This month, I am bringing to us compilations on “THE POWER OF PLANNING” for New Season, Year, Life, Business and Family in a changing and challenging world.

Expositions on Why Planning? How to Plan? Benefits of Planning etc, amongst other things are taught in this edition. Bishop David Oyedepo will be expounding on “The Power of Planning - you don’t become great to start planning, you plan to become great”. Apostle Joshua Selma will be teaching us on “The Need for Personal Retreat”. Pastor Sam Adeyemi will be telling us how he has experimented on so many things (he called it ‘spiritual gimmicks’) that doesn’t work without proper strategic planning which many Christians normally uses in deceiving themselves and Pastor David Ibiyeomie will be teaching us on Wise Planning and Benefits of Planning.

You can’t afford not to read this eBook. It’s ‘gonna’ be an eye-opening experience. It’s not all about confession, but about doing. 2023 shall be a great year and I am waiting to hear your testimony.

Shalom.

BE STRONG AND TAKE COURAGE
One cowardly person came to a master of martial arts and asked to teach him bravery. The master looked at him and said: “I will teach you only with one condition: one month you will have to live in a big city and tell every person that you meet on your way that you are a coward. You will have to say it loudly, openly and looking straight into the person’s eyes”.
The person got really sad, because this task seemed very scary to him. For a couple of days he was very sad and thoughtful, but to live with his cowardice was so unbearable that he travelled to the city to accomplish his mission.
At first, when meeting the passers, he quailed, lost his speech and couldn’t contact anyone. But he needed to finish the master’s task, so he began to overcome himself. When he came up to his first passer to tell about his cowardice, it seemed to him that he would die from fear. But his voice sounded louder and more confident with every passing day. Suddenly came a moment, when the man caught himself thinking that he’s not scared anymore, and the further he continued doing the master’s task, the more convinced he was that the fear was abandoning him. That way a month had passed.
The person came back to the master, bowed to him and said: “Thank you, teacher. I finished your task. Now I’m not afraid anymore. But how did you know that this strange task will help me?”
The thing is that cowardice is only a habit. And by doing the things that scare us, we can destroy the stereotypes and come to a conclusion that you came to. And now you know that bravery – is also a habit. And if you want to make bravery a part of yourself- you need to move forward into the fear. Then the fear will go away, and bravery will take its place.________
Courage is a word that is used in variety of ways. For many Christians, courage is a word that brings to mind standing on Biblical principles in the face of great opposition. Others think courage is demonstrated by taking a stance against Biblical principles. Either way, the Bible has plenty to say about what defines courage.
What is the definition of courage?
The word courage is commonly defined as (1): (Noun)”The ability to do something that frightens one.” It originates from Middle English (denoting the heart, as the seat of feelings): from Old French corage, from Latin cor “heart.” Simply stated, this common definition refers to the ability to do something brave out of a motivation from the heart.
What does the Bible teach about courage?
The Bible makes references to courage in several ways:
1. God approves of good courage: Deuteronomy 31:6-8, 23; Joshua 1:1-18; Joshua 10:25; 1 Chronicles 28:20; 2 Chronicles 19:11; Psalms 27:14; Psalms 31:24
2. God destroys evil courage: Amos 2:16
3. God uses believers to instill courage or encourage one another: Deuteronomy 1:38; Deuteronomy 3:28; Acts 28:15; Ephesians 4; Hebrews 10:24
4. Sometimes believers and non-believers encourage or provoke others to do bad things: Deuteronomy 13:6-8; 2 Samuel 1:14-17; Psalms 64:5’ Proverbs 1:10; Ephesians 6:4
5. God strengthens the hearts of believers who show good courage: Psalms 27:14; Psalms 31:24
Biblical courage is the ability to do something brave out of a motivation of the heart. However, Biblical courage that is good always relies upon the supernatural power of God to strengthen and motivate the believer to be courageous (Romans 5:3-5).
Let’s consider these three stories that demonstrate Biblical good courage.
1. Caleb and Joshua: No matter how things may look or if we do not know what to do in a situation, we can always have courage because we can trust the LORD’s promises. Those who trust the LORD are blessed, starting with salvation and continuing with overcoming the world (1 John 5:4-5)
2. David and Goliath: No matter how big an adversary, God empowers us to do all things through the power of Christ (Philippians 4:13). This gives us courage even when it seems like the whole world, including our family, tries to discourage us. By standing for what is right and just in the name of the LORD, God will enable us to do great things (John 14:12-14).
3. Peter and John: When we do the work of the Lord and share His Word, people get upset. Some people will get so upset that they will think they are doing God’s will by persecuting or even killing us (John 16:1-3; 2 Timothy 3:10-12). However, God says that if we have the courage to suffer for Him by doing right with Christ as our example, it is worthy of God’s praise and glorifies Him (1 Peter 18-25).
4. Others – Jacob meeting Esau (Genesis 32), Hezekaih’s prayer 2Kings 19, Gideon Judges 6, Asa prayed for victory 2Chronicles14, Peter Acts 4
God doesn’t call the brave; he makes brave those he calls. So if you’re waiting on God to take away your fear, you’ll never start moving. Gideon became a hero, even though he never does stop being afraid. But he’s given an assurance to overcome his fear: “I am with you.”
“I am with you.” That’s God’s one-line answer to all of Gideon’s problems. It’s the statement he gives to end every argument. And it’s ultimately what he says to us in our greatest moments of fear. Because if God is with us—literally inside of us by his Holy Spirit—then what does it matter how great our enemies are? We might still be afraid, but we’ve got an Advocate that can conquer every fear.
Courage isn’t the absence of fear. That’s naivetĂ©. Neither is it ignoring our fears. That’s foolishness. True courage is following God in the midst of fear, embracing our identity in Christ, and allowing his salvation to embolden us. God doesn’t call you because you’re brave. But he is calling you. And if you answer, his perfect love will drive out every last fear.
Pray with me.
Lord, grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this life. When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going. Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don't go my way. And give me courage to do whatever needs to be done In Jesus' name, Amen.
