THE SURE WORD DEVOTIONAL BY BISHOP FOREMAN NEDISON

*THE POWER OF BELIEVING*

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: JOHN 1:12 (KJV)

To believe means to accept as true or as absolute reality. It means to be persuaded of God and His Word (ROMANS 4:20 -21). To believe is to be fully persuaded of something or someone and hence, to place confidence upon the thing or the one you believe. To believe is not mere credence or mental assent but a conviction deeply rooted in the heart.

To believe means to act upon the Word of God. This is so powerful because to believe is not just in a passive sense but in an active sense. When you believe, there will be no room for argument and doubt. So I ask you today, what do you believe? It was Smith Wigglesworth, the great Apostle of faith who said, "I am not moved by what I see or feel but I am only moved by what I believe". What do you believe? For you see, your life is regulated by what you believe whether you know it or not. Be intentional about what you believe because your life will depend on it.

The first thing I want you to digest today, is that the power to become is released when you believe (JOHN 1:12; ROMANS 4:18). When you believe, you cooperate with God to release the power to become.

Sadly, many of God's people have allowed someone's opinion of them to become their personal reality. You need to know that what you believe about yourself is what becomes reality. It is what you believe that becomes your personal testimony. Probe what you believe. Nobody becomes anything in this kingdom by accident. You must believe first in other to become. It is what you believe that makes you. The truth is that Righteousness is not attained in this kingdom by performance rather it is attained by believing first (ROMANS 4:1-6; ROMANS 10:9-11).

*THE IMPORTANCE OF DEVELOPING YOUR CAPACITY*

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 TIMOTHY 2:15

No man/woman can command results beyond his or her capacity. Your certificate often times is not a true proof of your capacity. Certificate is simply ink on paper but capacity is ink on your life. Certificates might fail but capacity doesn’t fail. No one will be given an assignment that is beyond his/her capacity. The development of your capacity is crucial to your success in life. The level of your assignment in life is determined by the level of your capacity development. In selecting the candidates for God’s work, the criteria that Jethro, Moses’ father –in- law gave was for them to “look for able men”. Capacity building has always been God’s criteria for choosing men, and not sentiments. God doesn’t arm you, until He trains you (GENESIS 14 : 13 – 16). For you to reign, you must be trained. You don’t know what you are capable of, until you are trained. Jesus went for capacity development, so go for it.

You need to understand that learning more will create more chances for you. Your chances in life are limited when you refuse to learn. You will never go to certain places if your capacity is not developed. Capacity deficiency is the limitation of so many people. The bible says in MATTHEW 25:15 that to every man He gave the talents according to their several capacity. Don’t blame the man with five talents and don’t envy him. God enlists us according to our character but He assigns us according to our capacity. They may not like you because of where you are coming from but they can’t throw you away because of your mental output (DANIEL 1 : 17 - 21). Daniel's capacity display made him relevant after several kings. Go for capacity development.

God doesn’t arm you until He trains you

PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to go for capacity development
