On Thursday, 23rd October 2025, the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, Ojokoro Muqami, paid courtesy visits to the Divisional Police Officers (D.P.Os) of Oko-Oba and Ijaye Police Stations. The visits were part of the Majlis’ community engagement efforts to foster collaboration with law enforcement, promote peaceful coexistence, and address the rising involvement of youths in social vices and crime within the Ojokoro community.
The delegation was led by Muhtamim Muqami, Brother Adeosun Ibrahim, accompanied by several dedicated members.
Visit to Oko-Oba Police Station
At the Oko-Oba Police Station, the delegation was warmly received by the S.P. Aliyu Kawunda (D.P.O. New Oko-Oba Division, Lagos State Police Command), who expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the Jama’at’s efforts in community service and moral education.
In his introductory remarks, the Muhtamim Muqami presented the objectives of the Majlis as the youth arm of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, committed to nurturing discipline, morality, peacebuilding, and service to humanity.
He acknowledged the relentless work of the police in maintaining peace and security within Ojokoro and assured the D.P.O. of the Majlis’ continued collaboration in promoting social harmony.
During the discussion, the D.P.O. expressed concern over the increasing rate of youth involvement in crime and appealed to the Majlis to visit schools to enlighten students on social vices and moral discipline. He emphasised that the majority of offenders in crime-related cases are young people and called for consistent moral engagement.
In response, the Muhtamim Muqami highlighted several initiatives organised by the Majlis to promote positive values among youths, including the Ride for Peace Campaign, the Stop the Crime Campaign, the Tree Planting Exercise, and Voluntary Blood Donation Drives, amongst other initiatives. He noted that these programs are designed to reform, engage, and inspire youths toward peaceful and productive living.
As part of the visit, a presentation of Jama’at publications was made to the D.P.O. as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation for the police service to the community. The visit was concluded with a group photograph, marking another milestone in fostering cooperation between the Majlis and the Police Division.
Visit to Ojokoro Police Station
The delegation also paid a visit to the D.P.O. of Ojokoro Police Station, who received the team warmly and expressed curiosity about the full meaning and mission of “Ahmadiyya.”
One of the missionaries accompanying the delegation provided a concise introduction to Islam-ul-Ahmadiyya, emphasising its global message of peace, obedience to lawful authority, and service to humanity. The D.P.O. CSP Aiyenomuro M. S. (D.P.O. Ojokoro Division, Lagos State Police Command), impressed by the message, inquired about the recent actions of the Niger State Governor and whether such conduct reflected religious tolerance.
In response, the missionary elaborated on the Islamic teachings of religious freedom, tolerance, and justice, explaining that Islam rejects compulsion in religion and upholds peaceful coexistence. He further stated that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s motto, "Love for All, Hatred for None", captures the true spirit of Islam, which seeks to unite all people through peace and compassion.
The D.P.O. expressed gratitude for the enlightening discourse and commended the Jama’at for its peaceful and exemplary approach to community development.
Before departing, a presentation of Jama’at publications was made to the D.P.O. as a token of appreciation. The visit concluded with a group photograph and prayers for continued peace, unity, and divine guidance for all.
