TEXT: COLOSSIANS 3:22-25
TOPIC: RULED BY GOD'S FEAR

COLOSSIANS 3:22-25 [NIV]

22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,

24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.

RULED BY GOD'S FEAR

It is very, very unfortunate that the fear of God has departed from the hearts of most people. People today act without any iota of fear of God in them.

The high rate of Killing, kidnapping and other vices are indication that human beings no longer have the fear of God in their hearts.

Today's text calls our attention to the fact that whatever we do, we should do it with the fear of God because we are serving God, not man, and this should come from our heart.

This is because God will surely reward everyone according to His or her deeds, knowing that God doesn't show partiality or favouritism.

So, anyone who does good or evil shall be rewarded accordingly by God.

QUESTION: In your office, marketplace and workplace, are you doing things with the fear of God in your heart, and is God's fear in your heart?

PRAYER: Lord, teach me to fear you from my heart that I might not sin against you in Christ's name, Amen.
