I’ve seen some of our brothers describing this as misleading because they feel Muslims are also being attacked in Nigeria. But the issue here isn’t whether Donald J. Trump mentioned Muslims or not—the fact remains that what he said about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria is not a lie.
Let’s be sincere: the scale, frequency, and pattern of attacks against Christians across different regions of Nigeria cannot be ignored. When you objectively compare the number and nature of attacks on Christians with those on Muslims, it reveals a consistent trend of religiously motivated violence that has disproportionately affected Christian communities.
Therefore, the fact that Trump didn’t mention Muslim casualties doesn’t make his statement about a Christian genocide false or misleading.
Recognising the reality of Christian persecution doesn’t mean dismissing the suffering of others — it simply means facing a painful truth that has been minimised for too long.
Selective outrage only weakens our collective voice against injustice. Whether Christian or Muslim, every innocent life matters — but silencing one group’s cry for help because it’s uncomfortable to hear helps no one.
