"He must increase, but I must decrease."- John 3:30 King James Bible

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."- Galatians 2:20 King James Bible

"that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;"- Philippians 3:10 King James Bible

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."- 1 John 3:1-3 King James Bible

John 15:4-7 Abide in me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

A fire left completely alone will eventually go out. It does not happen instantly. First, the bright flames begin to shrink. Then, the logs turn into glowing red embers. Finally, if no one stirs them or adds fresh wood, those embers fade into cold, gray ashes.

Our spiritual lives work the exact same way. No one loses their passion for God overnight. It happens when we stop tending to the fire of our faith. We get busy, we skip our quiet time with God, and we let the distractions of this world crowd out our devotion. Before we know it, a heart that used to burn with love for Jesus becomes lukewarm, distant, and cold.

Godโ€™s instructions for the altar in the Old Testament give us a powerful spiritual principle for today. In Leviticus 6:13, He commanded: "A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out."

Notice that God said the fire must never go out, but it was the responsibility of the priests to keep adding wood to it every single morning. God provided the spark, but humans had to maintain the flame. Today, you are the altar, and you must intentionally feed your spiritual fire every single day if you want to protect yourself from backsliding.

๐Ÿ“Œ Add Fresh Wood Daily (The Word of God)

You cannot survive spiritually on yesterdayโ€™s sermon or last weekโ€™s prayer. Your spirit needs fresh nourishment every day. The Bible is the ultimate fuel for your soul. When you read scripture, you are feeding your mind with truth, exposing lies, and building a shield against temptation.
"Is not My word like a fire?' says the Lord." โ€” Jeremiah 23:29

๐Ÿ“Œ Stir the Embers Constant Prayer
Prayer is not just a checklist of things you want; it is the oxygen that keeps your relationship with the Father alive. When you talk to God throughout your dayโ€”sharing your victories, your struggles, and your praisesโ€”you keep the spiritual heat turned up. A consistent prayer life makes it impossible for your heart to grow cold.

"Pray without ceasing." โ€” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

๐Ÿ“Œ Stay Close to the Heat (Holy Fellowship)

If you take a burning coal out of a campfire and set it by itself on the ground, it will go cold within minutes. But if you keep it piled together with the other coals, it stays red-hot. Do not isolate yourself from the body of Christ. You need a church family, godly friends, and spiritual mentors who will encourage you and keep you accountable.
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." โ€” Proverbs 27:17

Don't wait for your fire to become a tiny flicker before you decide to act. Look at the state of your heart today. If you feel yourself cooling down, it is time to get back to the altar. Stir up the gift inside you and feed your faith today!
