CONTRASTING THE PRESENCE AND THE ANOINTING OF GOD

WORD FOR THE DAY Jan. 5th.

The anointing is God’s power given for assignment, but His Presence is God Himself given for fellowship. Scripture shows that power without Presence leads to failure, but Presence always preserves power.

Saul was anointed yet lost God’s Presence (1 Sam. 16:14), while Moses refused to move without it (Exod. 33:15).

Anointing flows from abiding: “He who abides in Me… bears much fruit” (John 15:5). When intimacy leads, power stays pure, fresh, and accurate.

But when Presence is neglected, anointing becomes mere activity without life. True kingdom impact is not sustained by power alone, but by walking daily in the Presence of God, where all grace, accuracy, and glory flow (Ps. 16:11; Acts 10:38).

ANOINTED WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS

WORD FOR THE DAY Dec. 28th

In this very beautiful treatise, God the Father is speaking to His Son, Jesus, and He calls Him God and King. He is saying that Jesus’ throne will last forever.

This means Jesus will never stop being King. No one can replace Him, and His rule will never end.

God then explains how Jesus rules. He does not rule with anger or wickedness, but with righteousness.

Everything Jesus does is right, fair, loving, and true. He loves goodness with His whole heart and hates anything that is sinful, wrong, or harmful. That is why His kingdom is a good and safe kingdom.

Because Jesus chose to love what is right and reject what is wrong, God honored Him. God anointed Him with the oil of gladness, which simply means God filled Him with joy, approval, and authority. Jesus was given more joy and honor than anyone else.

In simple terms, this passage is telling us that Jesus is the forever King who loves goodness, hates evil, and is greatly honored and made joyful by God because of His perfect obedience and righteous life.

BE PURE AND FLAWLESS BEFORE GOD

WORD OF THE LORD Dec. 21st

God's mindset is very clear about this clarion call to believers

God is asking us to stay steer clear of anything that can lead us astray from the path of holiness and righteousness before God (Prov. 4:14-15).

We must avoid even the appearance of evil, it's a safeguard for our heart and a shield for our faith.

God wants to make us holy, setting us apart for His special purpose (John 17:17). He's committed to transforming, refining, and making us pure.

And here is God's promise: He'll keep us flawless, safe and sound, until Jesus returns (Phil. 1:6, Jude 1:24).

God want all our spirit, soul, and body, preserved and protected, for the day of Jesus' appearing.

We are not on this journey alone; God is with us. He's working in us, keeping, and preparing us for glory (1 Thess. 5:23-24).

We must stay close to Him, stay pure, and trust His faithful hand.

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people" Prov. 14:34.

Righteousness refers to justice, ethical conduct, and living in harmony with God's moral standards.

Holiness means being set apart for God's purposes and reflecting His character. It involves personal and communal integrity, love for God and others, and an active separation from sin.
