*THE NEW AND LIVING WAY*

*Hebrews 10:19-20 (LB, TPT)*

*..dear brothers, now we may walk right into the very Holy of Holies, where God is, because of the blood of Jesus. This is the fresh, new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us by tearing the curtain—his human body—to let us into the holy presence of God.* *And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come right into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm—boldly and with no hesitation. For he has dedicated a new, life-giving way for us to approach God.*


God told Moses anyone who sees His face will die, (Exo.33:20, CEV). Because of sin and the fall of man, man no longer had the capacity to see the face or glory of God and live. This made man afraid of having an encounter with God. In the Old Testament, God made it possible for only the high priest to come into the holy of holies once a year and he must come with the blood of an animal (signifying death) for the sins of the people. By this, the Holy Spirit was showing us that the real way to the holy of holies was not yet revealed, (Heb.9:6-8, NIV).

The high priest could not even enter the holy of holies whenever he liked. In Leviticus 16:2, “The Lord said to Moses, “Warn your brother, Aaron, not to enter the Most Holy Place behind the inner curtain whenever he chooses; if he does, he will die. For the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—is there, and I myself am present in the cloud above the atonement cover.”

But right now because of Jesus, the Bible says we can come boldly to God’s throne of grace, (Heb.4:16). We now have access to the real holy of holies where God is. The one in the Old Testament was just a shadow and God was not interested or pleased by their sacrifices (Heb.10:6). Jesus is the new and living way to access God in His fullness and glory. This is why He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life: no man comes to the Father but by me” John 14:6. This is why as Jesus yielded up the ghost on the Cross, the veil in temple was torn from top to bottom, (Matt. 27:50-51) signifying God ending that old and inferior system. Because of Jesus, now when we see God we don’t die, we receive life for all our sins have been taken away from God’s sight.

Father, I thank you for the new and living way that you have provided for me to have free access to your face, your fullness and your glory.

*UNDERSTANDING YOUR FREEDOM*

*John 8:32 & 36, Romans 6:18-19, 22 (LB)*

*And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. *If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. *And now you are free from your old master, sin; and you have become slaves to your new master, righteousness. … just as you used to be slaves to all kinds of sin, so now you must let yourselves be slaves to all that is right and holy. *But now you are free from the power of sin and are slaves of God, and his benefits to you include holiness and everlasting life.*


You are completely free from sin and the power of the devil (Heb.2:14-15) because of Jesus. You are free indeed because when Jesus set you free, it was a complete and perfect freedom. It was not a partial one. Sin and the devil are not more powerful than Jesus. Jesus was tempted in every way when He was on the earth, but He did not sin (Heb.4:15). Right now, He has given you that same power by which he exercised victory over sin.

To be free from sin does not mean to be free from temptation. Even Jesus was tempted. He had the same body we have and he could have fallen for the temptations but He refused. If there was no possibility for Him to fall, then it would not have been called a temptation. To be free from sin is to be free from the dominion of sin. Sin does not have dominion over you anymore. You now have eternal life (the life of God) and you now have a choice. As a believer, you are no more a slave to sin. Therefore, if any believer falls into sin, it is not because sin has more power or dominion over him or her, it is because the believer chose to fall into that sin. Sin has dominion over every one who is not saved. Sin is their nature and they have no other choice than to sin. But you are different. You now have a choice and you now have power over sin. You need to know the truth of what Christ has done for you so that you can walk in the full experience of it. As you renew your mind with the truth of what Christ has done for you, your life will be transformed, (Rom.12:2). This is your reality right now. Sin is no more your master. Therefore, stop yielding to it. You have a new master now and He has given you His life and made you a master over sin, (Rom. 5:17). Yield to your new Master and live your real life (Phil.2:13).


*Faith Declaration:*
I am completely free from sin, the devil and all evil because Jesus has set me free. I now have a choice. I have power over sin.
