WHAT DOES A DEEPER WALK WITH JESUS LOOK LIKE?

Sometimes, it looks like staying up when everyone else is sleeping.
It looks like shutting out the noise and simply saying, “Jesus, I want more of You.”

This week, we’re not just talking about a deeper walk, we’re choosing it.

And tonight, we gather in the place where deeper walks are formed: PRAYER.

LOVE IS HERE. HEALING IS POSSIBLE. WE ARE ONE FAMILY.

At Young Adult Church Uyo, we don't want you to do life alone.

We know that behind the smiles are sometimes questions, worries, disappointments, silent battles, and hurts you don't know how to put into words.

And that's okay.

You don't have to pretend here. You don't have to have it all figured out.

This Sunday, we're creating a safe space to talk, listen, share, and heal.

This isn't the usual questions-and-answers session.

Bring your questions.
Bring your worries.
Bring your experiences.
Bring the things you've been carrying quietly.

We'll have a psychologist with us to listen and have honest conversations with us about the realities of life, relationships, emotions, and the things we sometimes struggle to talk about.

Because sometimes, you don't need someone to preach at you.

You just need someone to listen.

Imagine being stranded and needing somewhere to stay.

You call someone you consider family. Someone you would move mountains for.

But when you knock, they say:

“You can't stay here. You're not welcome.”

That kind of rejection hurts differently.

Now, think about our walk with Jesus.

When we're stranded, we call Him.
When we're hurting, we seek Him.
When we need a miracle, we run to Him.

But when everything is fine, do we still want Him?

A deeper walk with Jesus is not just seeking Him for what He can do.

It is wanting Him for who He is.

The disciples on the road to Emmaus said:

“Did not our heart burn within us… while he opened to us the scriptures?”
— Luke 24:32

This week, may our hearts burn again.

Not just for His blessings.
For Jesus Himself.

A DEEPER WALK WITH JESUS

Sometimes, going deeper isn't about saying more prayers.
Sometimes, it's simply lifting your voice in praise and worship.

When hymns and songs rise from a heart that trusts God, they become more than music, they become declarations of faith.

Praise Him when you understand.
Praise Him when you don't.
Worship Him while you wait.

“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs…” — Ephesians 5:19

Let your praise keep your heart focused on who God is, even when your circumstances say otherwise.

THE TURNAROUND EXPERIENCE ON THE ROAD TO EMMAUS

Two disciples were walking away disappointed…
Confused…
Trying to make sense of everything.

Then Jesus showed up.

And guess what?

Their situation didn't change immediately. Their UNDERSTANDING did.

Here are some gems from the message:

- An Emmaus experience turns a journey of disappointment into a journey of revelation.

- You can't come into God's presence and leave the same.

- You may not see the answer yet, but that doesn't mean the answer isn't there.

- Jesus changed their understanding before He changed their circumstances.

- The same steps that led to the problem can also lead you to the answer.

- Understanding is what connects your faith.

- God's Word is in your heart to stir your spirit and soul.

🔥 And perhaps the biggest one:

DIVINE EXPERIENCE MUST START FROM YOUR HEART FIRST.

So this week, don't just pray:

“God, change my situation.”

Pray:

“Jesus, change my heart. Open my understanding. Help me see You.” 🙏🏽

Because sometimes, the turnaround begins before anything around you changes.

It begins when something inside you changes.

THIS WEEK, GO DEEPER.

Your walk with Jesus begins now!
