âEvery Wind Has a Voiceâ ~ Pastor Orji Stanley Amanze
In Scripture, wind is often symbolic. It can represent the moving of the Holy Spirit, false doctrines, trials, judgment, or divine direction. The important lesson is that every wind carries a message, and the believer must discern which voice is speaking.
Not every wind that blows is sent to destroy. Some winds are sent to reveal, refine, reposition, or propel you into His purpose. At the same time, there are contrary winds that seek to distract, discourage, and derail. The difference is not in the strength of the wind but in the voice behind it.
When Jesus calmed the storm in Mark 4:35â41, He did not merely rebuke the wind, He addressed it because He recognized that the disturbance carried a voice contrary to Godâs purpose for the journey. Likewise, in Acts 27, the sailors listened to the favourable south wind instead of Godâs warning through Paul, and what seemed like a good wind became the beginning of a storm.
As believers, our greatest need is not the absence of winds, rather, it is our ability to discern their voices.
Jesus declared, âMy sheep hear my voiceâŠâ ~John 10:27.
When you know the Shepherdâs voice, you will not be led astray by every other voice carried by the winds of life. And you are not His sheep if you canât hear His voiceâïž
