A 5-DAY AREA PRAYER OUTREACH
DAY 5, FRIDAY 13TH FEBRUARY, 2026 @ IDORO OBIO AREA HEADQUARTERS BY 6PM.
Today’s service was powerful and deeply reassuring as Pastor Isaac Mfon preached on “That Delay Will Manifest Greater Glory” from John 11:38 to 44, with reference to John 11:35.
The message began with a strong reminder that delay is not denial. In the story of Lazarus, his sisters believed everything was over because he had been in the grave for four days. It looked too late and hopeless. But when Jesus arrived, He proved that what seems late to man is never late with God. His delay brought about greater glory.
We were taught that delay is a period when something expected is postponed. It can feel like disappointment, silence, or deferment. Yet, in God’s divine plan, delay often prepares us for a bigger testimony. At the tomb of Lazarus, people were weeping, but Jesus spoke life into a dead situation. He commanded, “Loose him and let him go.” This shows that every delay will end in freedom and glory.
The sermon highlighted people in the Bible who experienced delay. Lazarus stayed four days in the grave before his miracle. Jacob waited 7 years and another 7 years, making 14 years of service before receiving Rachel, and about 20 years in total before returning home fully established. David was anointed king but was not enthroned immediately. The Israelites remained in captivity for 430 years before deliverance came. The woman with the issue of blood suffered for 12 years before her healing. Blind Bartimaeus waited for his appointed encounter with Jesus. Zechariah and Elizabeth waited many years before the birth of John. Their stories remind us that God’s promises may tarry, but they will surely come to pass.
We also learnt that delay can appear in different areas of life, such as promotion, health, marriage, employment, business expansion, childbearing, and reaping the fruits of our labour. During such seasons, faith may grow weak and frustration may arise. Sometimes, it may feel as though God is silent. But He is always working behind the scenes.
The message further encouraged us on what to do when experiencing delay. We should fast and seek God sincerely. We must walk in holiness and obedience. We should pray persistently until the answer comes and stand firmly on God’s promises. We must avoid comparing ourselves with others, ask God for divine speed and acceleration, expect divine visitation, and wait patiently on the Lord.
Let us hold firmly to this truth: delay is not denial. God’s timing is perfect. Every delay carries a divine purpose, and your testimony will manifest greater glory. Do not give up in your waiting season. Trust God completely, hold on to His word, and expect your miracle.
🙏 Prayer: Father, strengthen us in times of delay. Help us to trust Your timing and remain faithful while we wait. Let every delay in our lives turn into a testimony of greater glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
