UNIT 1: The Christian Family
LESSON 6: February 8, 2026.

TOPIC: A FAITHFUL FAMILY

Memory Verse: Joshua 24:15 - If it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve... but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD (KJV)

Lesson Central Truth:
A faithful family pleases God.

INTRODUCING THE LESSON
Rechabite family serves as an inspiration for today's Christian family. There are truths that transcend time and culture. In a secular modern world that resists divine truth--as well as absolutes and conviction of many occasions--the Christian family must maintain a firm commitment to God's truth.
The Christian family adheres to God's instructions, and as a result, they truly know how to get the most out of life. This family adequately prepares for a life with God, understanding the allure of worldly temptations and rejecting them in favour of honouring God. The Christian family understands that pleasing God is what matters most.

The objectives of this lesson are to enable us to:
• Contrast through the use of Scripture the faithlessness of the Rechabite family and the unfaithfulness of Judah.
• Recognise and appreciate that godly families can remain strong in an ungodly environment.
• Remain faithful to God and become a positive influence in the community.

LESSON OUTLINE
1. FAITHFULNESS TESTED Jeremiah 35:1-9
A The Test Presented
B. The Test Resisted

2. FAITHFULNESS CONTRASTED - Jeremiah 35:10-15
A. Faithful Obedience
B. Stubborn Disobedience

3. FAITHFULNESS REWARDED - Jeremiah 35:16-19
A. Judgement Pronounced
B. Blessing Promised

LESSON NUGGETS
1. FAITHFULNESS TESTED Jeremiah 35:1-9
✅️ The Rechabites were a group of people who were descendants of Jehonadab, the son of Rechab. They were Kenites, a tribe that was related to the Israelites. Jehonadab had given his descendants strict rules to abstain from wine, building house, and farming. These rules were meant to keep them separate from the surrounding culture and to preserve their unique identity as a people who worshipped the God of Israel. In Jeremiah 35:1-5, the prophet Jeremiah was instructed by God to test the Rechabites' commitment to their father's rules. He invites them to come to the temple and offers them wine to drink. This is a direct test of their obedience to Jehonadab's command not to drink wine. These events occurred during the reign of Jehoiakim, a time of severe spiritual decline in Judah. Rechabites' test was presented to show the stubborn nation of Judah what it meant to be faithful to God.

✅️ In Jeremiah 35:6-9, we see Rechabites resisted the test by refusing to take the wine, citing their commitment to Jonadab's commands. This refusal demonstrates their faithfulness and loyalty to their family's traditions. The Rechabites' obedience was not limited to a specific context; it was a lifestyle choice that defined their relationship with God. The Rechabites' lifestyle was a stark contrast to the surrounding culture, emphasising the importance of standing firm in one's convictions. God used the Rechabites’ unwavering, multi-generational obedience to a human ancestor as a direct contrast to the persistent disobedience of the people of Judah toward Him. While the Rechabites kept their vow to their ancestor, Judah failed to listen to God’s commands delivered by prophets. For generations, the Rechabites refused to compromise. Christian families today can remain faithful to God, but it requires conscientious effort. Take time with family, guard against distractions, practice family devotions, reinforce family traditions, and keep all communication lines open. As believers, we are called to prioritise obedience to God's commands, even when it's challenging.

2. FAITHFULNESS CONTRASTED - Jeremiah 35:10-15
✅️ In Jeremiah 35:10-11, the Rechabites affirm their strict, multi-generational obedience to their ancestor Jonadab by living in tents, abstaining from wine, and avoiding agriculture. They explain their temporary presence in Jerusalem as a necessary, fearful refuge from the invading Babylonian army, not a violation of their nomadic vows. The Rechabites' decision to move to Jerusalem was not a desire to adopt the city lifestyle but rather a necessary measure for survival during the Babylonian invasion. Despite being in the city, they maintained their core convictions, including their abstinence from wine. The Rechabites' obedience to their father's commands was not situational but rather a deep-seated commitment that guided their actions in all circumstances. The Rechabites story encourages believers to remain faithful to God, regardless of the situation or circumstances. In the face of adversity, believers can stand firm in their convictions and trust in God's sovereignty.

✅️ In Jeremiah 35:12-15, we see a stark contrast between the Rechabites' obedience to their ancestor Jonadab and the Israelites' disobedience to God. Despite God's persistent warnings and pleas, the Israelites refused to listen, while the Rechabites faithfully followed their forefather's commands. The Rechabites' obedience to Jonadab's commands serves as a powerful example of faithfulness. In contrast, the Israelites had a history of stubborn disobedience to God's commands.
Just like the Rechabites, we are called to be faithful to God's commands. Our obedience is a testament to our love and commitment to Him. Israel's disobedience serves as a warning to us. When we refuse to listen to God's voice, we open ourselves up to the consequences of sin and disobedience. Even when we are disobedient, God's love for us remains unwavering. He continues to call us back to Himself, desiring our repentance and restoration.

3. FAITHFULNESS REWARDED - Jeremiah 35:16-19
✅️ Based on Jeremiah 35:16-17, the judgement pronounced by God against Judah and Jerusalem is a direct consequence of their persistent disobedience, which is severely contrasted with the unwavering obedience of the Rechabites. Rechabites obeyed their ancestor’s command not to drink wine for generations, whereas the people of Judah did not obey God, despite His repeated, early, and consistent warnings. Because of this, the Lord God Almighty announced that He would bring upon Judah and Jerusalem "every disaster" that He had previously pronounced against them. The judgment was specifically because God spoke, but they did not listen, and He called, but they did not answer. Believers can learn from Judah's mistakes and take heed of the consequences of disobedience.

✅️ Verses 18-19, God pronounced blessing upon Rechabites for their faithfulness to the commands of their forefathers Jonadab. Because they kept their commitments, God promised the Rechabites that their lineage would always serve Him, rewarding consistent, faithful obedience. God rewards the Rechabites because they were consistent in their commitment. Even though their vow was not a direct command from God, their commitment to faithful living was honoured. God is shown to be a rewarder of those who are faithful, promising to preserve the lineage of the obedient. God rewards obedience, even when it involves challenging, unpopular, or counter-cultural standards.
This challenges believers to examine areas of compromise in their own lives and to maintain a consistent, faithful witness to God’s Word in a faithless culture. We can trust in God's blessing and reward, knowing that He is faithful to those who obey Him.

🎤Lesson Action Word🎤
The Rechabites' story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of faithfulness in our lives. Let's prioritize faithfulness to God's commands, teach our children God's ways, and trust in His promises. May we be faithful in our daily lives, obeying God's commands and prioritizing loyalty to His word.

🙏Lesson Prayer Point🙏
Father, strengthen, direct, and protect us to remain faithful to your commands in Jesus' Matchless Name. Amen!

UNIT 2: The Christian Family
LESSON 5: February 1, 2026.

TOPIC: FOUNDATION FOR A GODLY FAMILY

Memory Verse: Deuteronomy 6:6-7 - These words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children (KJV).

Lesson Central Truth:
God's truth is meant to be the foundation of the home.

INTRODUCING THE LESSON
In Deuteronomy, Moses instructs the Israelites on the importance of prioritising God and His Word in their families. As we explore this passage, we'll discover key principles for building a strong foundation for a godly family that will stand the test of time.
Why do you think Moses addressed the parents specifically as the nation was about to enter the Promised Land?
Parents play a critical role in helping children grow to become servants of God. Through the parents, they receive the basics of the faith. The truth of the Scripture can pass from one generation to the next if they are taught and lived out as reality in the home.
In today's secularised world, homes need to be insulated with the reality of God's truth and presence. The parents play a central role. As a result, Moses' words are just as relevant today as they were then.

The objectives of this lesson are to enable us to:
• Understand the role of the parents in Bible times and why that role was important to Israel's faith.
• Place high priority on applying God's truth to the realities of family life.
• Practise our faith in relationships and responsibilities in the home.

LESSON OUTLINE
1. COMMANDMENTS TO PARENTS - Deuteronomy 6 1-9
A. Family Faith
B. Family Life

2. REVERENCE GOD - Deuteronomy 6:10-19
A. Remember His Goodness
B. Remain Faithful To Him

3. TELL OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS - Deuteronomy 6:20-25
A. Divine Deliverance
B. Divine Care

LESSON NUGGETS
1. COMMANDMENTS TO PARENTS - Deuteronomy 6 1-9
✅️ Deuteronomy 6:1-5 calls for wholehearted, exclusive love for God, anchored in the declaration that "The LORD our God, the LORD is one." This passage demands passing this faith to future generations through daily, passionate devotion, shifting focus from mere legal obedience to a covenant relationship rooted in love. The core message is that God is the only true living Creator, deserving of undivided, absolute loyalty. This statement rejects idolatry and demands that God will not share our devotion with anything else. Loving God is not a fleeting feeling but a commitment of one’s entire being--inner self (heart), life force (soul), and strength/substance (might). The commands are not merely for personal piety but are to be "impressed" upon children and discussed constantly in daily life, ensuring the covenant continues. As believers, we should integrate the word of God into our daily life--when sitting, walking, lying down, and rising--making faith a routine rather than a weekly event. As Christian parents, it is our responsibility to lead our children toward this loving commitment to follow the Lord.

✅️ Verses 6-9 calls believers to move God’s Word from just hearing to heart-level internalisation, prioritising daily, natural discussion of Scripture within the home, and, specifically, instructing children diligently. The Word of God should be integrated into our daily life--when sitting, walking, lying down, and rising--making faith a routine rather than a weekly event. If God's Word is not central in the home, the next generation risks forgetting God and facing spiritual decline. This calls for a shift from passive faith to active, daily engagement. The home is to be a sanctuary where God's commands are woven into daily life, conversations, and environment, creating a legacy of faith. UIt prompts parents to evaluate if they are teaching their children that all blessings come from God and to prioritise talking about faith in normal conversations rather than reserving it for specific times. Faith is to be modelled in the home through conversation, prayer, and daily life, not just relegated to formal church programs.

2. REVERENCE GOD - Deuteronomy 6:10-19
✅️ Deuteronomy 6:10-12 warns against forgetting God’s goodness when experiencing prosperity and ease. As the Israelites entered a "land of abundance" with cities and vineyards they didn't build, they were instructed to remember their deliverance from slavery and recognise God as the provider of all blessings to avoid pride and spiritual complacency. Note that prosperity can cause people to forget God, as self-sufficiency often leads to pride. When life is easy, the tendency is to forget the Source of blessings. Just as Israel was to remember Egypt (the "house of bo***ge"), believers should remember their salvation from sin. Everything good in life is a gift from God. The cities, houses, and vineyards mentioned in the text illustrate that God provides blessings that people did not work for or create. As believers, the proper response to God's goodness is to love, fear, and serve Him rather than turning to other gods. To avoid forgetting, believers must actively watch themselves, cultivate gratitude, and recognise God as the provider in all circumstances. The core message is to keep God at the centre of life, ensuring that blessings do not become a distraction from the One who gave them.

✅️ Deuteronomy 6:13-19 provides foundational instructions for the Israelites on how to remain faithful to God as they prepare to enter the Promised Land. The core command is to "Fear the LORD your God, serve him only, and take your oaths in his name." This means absolute loyalty to God, refusing to follow the gods of surrounding nations. Note that the modern idolatry often involves placing money, power, or pleasure above God. The Lord is described as a "jealous God," which signifies that He demands the exclusive devotion that is rightfully His and will not tolerate rivals. God’s jealousy is not selfish but righteous, protecting His people from harmful, false idols. Just as Israel was tempted to forget God after entering the promised land, believers today must not let blessings (jobs, homes, family) obscure their need for the Giver. Faithfulness is defined as keeping the commandments, statutes, and testimonies of the Lord. Total commitment ensures the removal of spiritual enemies and enables the full enjoyment of God's promises. As believers, we must not allow any other thing to take God's place in our lives. We should always devote ourselves to God and avoid serving other masters.

3. TELL OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS - Deuteronomy 6:20-25
✅️ Verses 20-23 empahise when future generations (children) ask about the meaning of God's laws ("What mean the testimonies...?"). Parents are commanded to tell their children their history--specifically, that they were once "Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt."
We must never forget our low beginnings--our bo***ge to sin. True worship is rooted in the remembrance of God’s grace. Deliverance is initiated by God, not by human strength or merit. God's deliverance has a two-fold purpose: to bring us out of bo***ge (freedom) and to bring us into the promised inheritance. He does not bring us out to leave us in the wilderness; He brings us out to "give us the land which he sware unto our fathers." It is the responsibility of each generation to teach the next about God's mighty acts. Parents can build a legacy of faith for their children and future generations by sharing the story of God's deliverance. By sharing the story of God's deliverance, you can help your children develop a deep understanding of God's love and power and build a strong foundation for their faith.

✅The core message of God's care through obedience remains relevant today. Following God's Word, which now includes the teachings of Christ, is presented as the path to experiencing the full, protected, and good life that God desires for His people. Deuteronomy 6:24-25 highlights that God's commandments are to be followed by parents, children, and grandchildren, ensuring God’s care extends across generations. Our lives are preserved when we obey and live according to His commands. By obeying God’s commands out of love and reverence, believers align themselves with God's protective and preserving hand. As God provided care for the children of Israel, the parents were to nurture and provide the best care possible for their children. Through godly parenting, children can come to know God. That has always been God's design for the home in passing on the legacy of faith. Parents play a central role in establishing values in their children. One's value system determines priorities, shapes decisions, and greatly influences behaviour. God's Word should be the foundation of the family's value system.

🎤Lesson Action Word🎤
A godly family leaves a lasting legacy of faith for future generations.

🙏Lesson Prayer Point🙏
Father, help us to model godly behaviour for our children and others to follow in Jesus' Matchless Name. Amen!

ASSEMBLIES OF GOD NIGERIA
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSONS|JANUARY-JUNE, 2026.
UNIT 1: Epistles To The Thessalonians
LESSON 4: January 25, 2026.

TOPIC: PREPARE FOR JESUS' RETURN

Memory Verse: 1 Thessalonians 4:16 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first (KJV).

Lesson Central Truth:
Every Christian should be actively watching for Jesus' return.

INTRODUCING THE LESSON
During his time in Thessalonica, Paul had certainly taught the church about Jesus' return. As the believers endured intense persecution, the hope of Jesus' soon return would have meant a great deal to them. Paul's letter addressed many questions about the Second Coming, but first, he tackled the question of what happens to the believers who die in the meantime. Preparing for Jesus' return involves living with daily urgency, spiritual vigilance, and active service rather than speculating on timing. Believers are called to be found faithful, actively engaged in God’s work, and spiritually alert, as Christ will return unexpectedly like a thief in the night.

The objectives of this lesson are to enable us to:
• Comprehend Paul's teachings concerning Jesus' return and how believers should live in the meantime.
• Realise how the promise of Jesus' return impacts the way Christians grieve.
• Identify ways to encourage fellow believers who are grieving.

LESSON OUTLINE
1. LIVE IN HOPE OF JESUS' RETURN
A. Grieving In Hope - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15
B. Together With Jesus - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.

2. LIVE IN THE LIGHT
A. Jesus' Sudden Return - 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3
B. Children Of The Light - 1 Thessalonians 5:4-8.

3. ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER
A. God Choose To Save Us - 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
B. Live Peacefully With Each Other - 1 Thessalonians 5:12-14.

LESSON NUGGETS
1. LIVE IN HOPE OF JESUS' RETURN
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
✅️ Paul addresses the Thessalonians' anxiety about fellow believers who died, worrying they miss Christ's return. Paul contrasts Christian mourning with the despair of the world, which sees death as final. Christians grieve, but with a hope rooted in Christ's resurrection, not finality. The foundation of this hope is Jesus' death and resurrection. Because He rose, God will bring those who "sleep in Jesus" (died in faith) with Him. Paul clarifies this is a direct revelation, a promise from Jesus Himself about His return and the fate of believers. This truth should comfort grieving hearts, encourage holy living, and motivate believers to spread this hope. Our King has Conquered Death--that's the hope we have. Death does not have the last word. So, as we grieve, we are to live in the hope of His return on a daily basis.

✅️ Verses 16-18 focus on how Paul wrote to comfort persecuted Thessalonians worried about loved ones who died before Jesus returned, assuring them death is not final separation, but a temporary pause before reunion Jesus will come down from heaven with a loud command, the voice of an archangel, and the trumpet call of God. Those who died believing in Jesus will be resurrected with glorious bodies. Simultaneously, living believers will be "caught up" in the clouds to meet the Lord. The ultimate destination for all believers (resurrected and living) is to meet Jesus in the air and then be "with the Lord forever," a picture of glorious, eternal presence. This future hope should motivate believers to live holy lives, serving the Lord faithfully, as this powerful promise of reunion is for those in a true faith relationship with Christ.

2. LIVE IN THE LIGHT
1 Thessalonians 5:1-8
✅️ For the certainty of His coming, Paul says believers don't need to know the exact times and dates because God has ordained it, but it will happen suddenly. The focus is not on predicting the day but on living in readiness for it. Like a thief, Jesus' return will be unannounced and, at the least expected, a moment, disrupting the world's plans. His sudden return will be unwelcome to the unprepared--for the unbelievers, it brings harm and loss; for believers, it's the culmination of hope, though still sudden. Like labour pains, the arrival is sudden, painful, and unavoidable for the unprepared. Because the Day of the Lord will come unexpectedly like a thief, Christians must live with urgent alertness, clad in faith, love, and hope, ready to share light and build up community, not be caught sleeping in false peace. As believers, we shouldn't speculate on dates but live daily as if Christ could return at any moment, using His coming as motivation for holy living.

✅ Verses 6-8, Paul tells Christians not to fear the unexpected return of Jesus because they belong to the light, not the darkness. Instead of being caught sleeping like unbelievers, they should be wide awake, self-controlled, and armed with faith, love, and hope, living lives consistent with their heavenly identity so they are always ready for His arrival. Faith, love, and hope are essential defences against spiritual dangers and preparation for Christ's return. Faith and love act as breastplate that protect against temptation and ungodliness.
Hope of salvation acts as a helmet, guarding the mind with the assurance of future deliverance and Christ's return. As children of light, we are to live a life that reflects our heavenly identity. We should stay vigilant as we prepare for His return on a daily basis.

3. ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER
1 Thessalonians 5:9-14
✅️ God hasn't appointed believers for punishment but for salvation, a rescue from wrath through Jesus, providing comfort and assurance. Jesus died for believers, so they can live with Him, whether they are currently alive (awake) or have died (asleep). Our lives are hidden with Christ, and we will live with Him forever. The core command in verse 11 is to uplift one another with gospel truth, helping each other grow in wisdom, grace, and holiness (edification). This involves strengthening faith, love, and hope, preventing spiritual stagnation, and creating a supportive church where believers can receive and give support to each other. As we hope for His return, we should hold each other accountable for growth and obedience. No stagnation as chosen people of God, we encourage each other to keep pressing on in our walk with God.

✅️ Verses 12-14, Paul urges believers to recognise those who "diligently labour among you" and "have charge over you in the Lord." Leaders are to be appreciated for their hard work in guiding and instructing the church. Leaders should be held in the highest regard, not necessarily for their personality or position, but "because of their work." Note that eaders are not defined by titles, but by their hard work, presiding, and instructing in the Word. The ultimate purpose of respecting leadership is to "live in peace with one another." Division between leaders and members disrupts the church's mission. Living at peace means more than just an absence of conflict; it is an active, intentional commitment to building healthy relationships. Do not pay back wrong for wrong, but always pursue what is good for each other. A peaceful church is one where the gospel shapes how members interact, fostering forgiveness and love. As believers, we are to live in peace with each other by honouring those who lead, comforting those who are weak, and patiently supporting one another as a church united
by Christ.

🎤Lesson Action Word🎤
May we live each day with our hearts and lives aligned with God's will, reflecting our heavenly identity and being prepared for His return.

🙏Lesson Prayer Point🙏
Father, may we anticipate Your coming by living for You each day, sharing the hope of salvation with everyone around. Amen.

ASSEMBLIES OF GOD NIGERIA
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSONS|JULY-DECEMBER, 2026.
UNIT 1: Epistles To The Thessalonians
LESSON 3: January 18, 2026.

TOPIC: COMMIT TO HOLINESS AND INTEGRITY

Memory Verse: 1 Thessalonians 4:7 - For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness (KJV).

Lesson Central Truth:
We reflect God's holiness when we live with integrity.

INTRODUCING THE LESSON
Paul's primary reason for writing this letter was to rejoice in the Thessalonians' believers' faithlessness. The first three chapters are filled with encouragement and celebration over the news about them that was spreading throughout the region. Chapter 4 begins with "finally" (NLT; "furthermore," KJV), but we shouldn't assume that what follows was less important than the less of his letter. Chapters 4 and 5 provide meaningful instruction, some of which were inspired by the real-time challenges in the Thessalonian church.

The objectives of this lesson are to enable us to:
• Recognise the true nature of holiness and its importance to the Christian life.
• Commit to obey Jesus' command that we love one another.
• Choose to pursue sexual purity as an expression of our commitment to Jesus.

LESSON OUTLINE
1. LIVE TO PLEASE GOD
A. Obedience Is Key - 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2
B. Choose God's Best - 1 Thessalonians 5:15-22.

2. ABSTAIN FROM SIN
A. Live In Purity - 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6
B. God's Call To Holiness - 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8.

3. LOVINGLY INFLUENCE OTHERS
A. The Purity Of Love - 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10
B. Quiet And Productive Lives - 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12.

1. LIVE TO PLEASE GOD
1 Thessalonians 4:1-2; 5:15-22
✅️ The Christian life is described as a "walk," implying ongoing movement, direction, and progress, not a static state. The goal of this walk is to please God, finding satisfaction and joy in His approval rather than human praise. In 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2, Paul acknowledged that the Thessalonians were living in obedience to God, and he wanted them to continue to do so even more. Paul's exhortation to "abound more and more" highlights that holiness is not just a destination but a lifelong process of increasing faith and good works. The ultimate purpose of Christian living is to satisfy and honour God, not just oneself or others. The instructions given are not Paul's suggestions but commandments "through the Lord Jesus." Like the Thessalonians, we are called to action--not to stop, but to continuously increase in our spiritual life and pleasing God, always moving to the next level of holiness, like climbing another ridge. The persistent pursuit of a deeper relationship with God and a holier life should be our daily focus.

✅️ On a positive note, Christians should keep on doing good to everyone and rejoice even in suffering or persecution. They should keep on praying and offer thanks in every situation (1 Thessalonians 5:14–18). Also, Paul instructs believers not to ignore or reject what the Spirit wants them to do, nor take a dim view of prophesying. Instead of rejecting messages delivered by alleged prophets, they should put those messages to the test. This testing allows believers to accept that which agrees with the Word of God and rejects anything that does not. Finally, Christians should stay clear of every form of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:19–22). Believers should embrace and cling to that which is found to be good and aligns with God's character. By diligently applying these principles from God's Word, we choose God's best by living a life that reflects His character and aligns with His will.

2. ABSTAIN FROM SIN
1 Thessalonians 4:3-8
✅️ 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6 emphasises that God's will for believers is sexual purity (sanctification), calling us to abstain from sexual immorality, control our bodies with honour, and avoid lustful passion like unbelievers, warning that God will judge those who exploit or defraud fellow believers in sexual matters. This passage encourages believers to live holy lives, distinct from worldly practices, as instructed by the Lord. This passage is part of Paul's instruction to the Thessalonian church on how to live to please God and grow in holiness. It serves as a foundation for understanding Christian conduct. The core message is that becoming holy (set apart for God) is God's desire for every believer, not just a suggestion. Christians should not live like unbelievers driven by uncontrolled sexual desire, contrasting with the world's standards.

✅️ God didn't call us to impurity but to holiness. This is His specific, ongoing purpose for every believer. To be holy means to be set apart from the world's sinful passions and practices (like lust and sexual immorality). It's about right living for the sake of a right relationship with God, becoming like our holy Father. It involves controlling one's body in honour, abstaining from sexual impurity, and not wronging one's brother or sister in these matters. God provides the Holy Spirit to enable this life of purity. We are empowered to overcome sin, not just condemned by it. Rejecting this call isn't just ignoring advice; it's despising God who gives His Spirit. We must embrace God's call, seek His help, and walk in purity to please Him and experience true freedom.

3. LOVINGLY INFLUENCE OTHERS
1 Thessalonians 4:9-12
✅️ 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 focuses on the God-taught nature of brotherly love, praising the Thessalonians for loving all believers in Macedonia, and urging them to excel still more in this love, emphasising practical, growing affection within the family of God, linking it to a life pleasing to God and a proper witness to outsiders. While they already love, Paul exhorts them to "excel still more," indicating that Christian love is a dynamic, progressive journey, not a static state. This growth is seen in daily actions, moving from theoretical love to tangible support and care for all believers. This love is not just a feeling; it's shown by going out of your way to help fellow believers as you would do to your dearly family. We show love through actions, not just words. May we continue to grow in love as we become more like Jesus.

✅️ 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 focuses on believers aspiring to live quietly, mind their own business, and work diligently with their hands, not out of laziness but to live honourably before outsiders, be self-sufficient (lacking nothing), and avoid burdening others, thereby demonstrating Christian character and pleasing God. Christians should actively strive for a calm, peaceful life, not one filled with meddling, gossip, or conflict, even when excitement about Christ's return is high. As believers, we should work with our hands and never be lazy no matter the situation. The ultimate goal is to present a good witness to the world, showing that Christian faith leads to honoruable conduct, not laziness or being a burden. Working hard enables believers to be independent and even generous, fulfilling the call to love their neighbour by not being a financial drain. In a world of noise and busyness, Christians are called to a purposeful quietness and focus on stewardship, not distraction.

🎤Lesson Action Word🎤
We strive to live a life that honours God, avoiding sin and pursuing righteousness.

🙏Lesson Prayer Point🙏
Father, help us to love a life of holiness and integrity in Jesus' Matchless Name. Amen!
