Why Are All Eyes on This Boy?
This picture evokes powerful memories of my early days in Sunday School—a time when pastors, elders, church officers, parents, and guardians would gather from morning until late in the evening just to watch the children perform.
To some, these rallies were merely entertainment. However, others discovered profound lessons hidden within the wisdom of young minds. Many parents used these moments as an opportunity to inspire their children to cherish the things of God. For the children, these events represented much more: they were experiences of growth, exposure, and a chance to stand out, discover their hidden potential, build lasting friendships, and expand their knowledge.
Sunday School rallies remain a cornerstone for nurturing future leaders in the ways of God. In my view, this is the greatest gift a church can offer itself, the family, and society at large; after all, the true value of any endeavor is determined by its durability.
As Proverbs 22:6 reminds us: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
The decline of a generation often begins with a failure in childhood training and upbringing. This is a collective responsibility that rests upon parents, the church, and society as a whole. I want to encourage us all—the church, parents, and children alike—to continue investing in Sunday School. The future of our next generation depends, now more than ever, on these vital spiritual foundations.
