As part of activities marking the 2nd National Youth Convention of TACN,with the theme *"Anointed for Impact,"* the National President's Cup continues today, as follows:

Uyo: A City in the Story

The story of The Apostolic Church in Akwa Ibom is inseparably connected to the city of Uyo. Following the Pentecostal revival that swept through Nigeria's Eastern Region in the 1930s, the Apostolic message spread across Ibibioland, establishing a lasting presence and transforming communities.

Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom, became an important centre in the growth and expansion of the Apostolic movement in the region. Over the decades, the city has witnessed the growth of the Church and the emergence of generations of believers carrying the Apostolic faith forward.

Today, Uyo once again takes its place in the story as it welcomes delegates from across Nigeria for the second National Youth Convention of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, commencing on October 1, 2026, at the Akwa Ibom Territorial Headquarters, 61 Obio Imo Street.

From the roots of yesterday, a generation rises today.

‎The Apostolic Spread in Igboland
‎
‎Within the first 10 years of establishment of The Apostolic Church in Nigeria, the spread was rapid and the impact was deep. By 1938 in Igboland for instance, the work of God had grown significantly across the area with 13 districts and over 120 assemblies. This marked a remarkable testament to the spread of the gospel and the growth of the Church.

‎In 2026, young Apostolics from Igboland will form a significant segment of the participants in the second national youth convention of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, beginning on October 1, 2026.

‎With the theme, 'Dry Bones Shall Live', the crusade had people returning with great testimonies of healing and thanksgiving to God following healings and miracles that touched lives.
‎
‎Eight years later, Uyo is playing host to the second national youth convention of The Apostolic Church Nigeria. Prepare to be a part.

‎On Sunday 15th November, 1931, the first pastoral ordination in The Apostolic Church Nigeria, was held at No. 51 Moloney Great Bridge Street, ‎Lagos. The ordination was conducted by European missionaries, Pastor D. P. William, Andrew Turnbull and W. J. William.
‎
‎Seven ministers were ordained as the first set of pastors in the church in Nigeria. They include - J. B. Esinsinade, D. O. Odubanjo, J. A. Babatope, S. A. Mensah, E. G. L. Macaulay, I. B. Akinyele, and S. J. Adegboyega.
