It was such a rich time we had in God's presence this past Sunday! Many hearts were stirred as we were led deep into scripture and shown His truth.

Topic: Living as Strangers & Pilgrims
Scripture: 1 Peter 2:11

A pilgrim is one who is on a journey through a strange land to his home land. He is a refugee who has crossed a spiritual border—from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light—seeking freedom from the devil and sin's control.

As a pilgrim, he is caught between two countries with conflicting interests: one trying to pull him back to where he came from, and the other strengthening him on his homeward journey.

The danger is that, somewhere along the journey, the pilgrim may become too comfortable in a strange land.

On his pilgrimage, he will encounter many things that can pull his heart away from his destination. Lack, luxury, and attractive opportunities can all become distractions when they make us lose sight of where we are going.

What, then, keeps the pilgrim from losing sight of his destination? Don't miss this vital truth.

It is a strong desire for the better country (the home land). Abstinence from sin, a life of honour, observable good works, an attitude of submission, and above all, strength drawn from communion with God. No pilgrim makes it on their own strength—and neither can you.

A pilgrim must never become so familiar with the land that he forgets he is passing through.

As young people who are strangers and pilgrims, we are called to live in this world without allowing the world to shape our allegiance, our convictions, or our walk with God.

This Youth Week, the Word will search us and expose what is warring against our souls and hindering our journey home, with room for honest reflection, godly perspectives, and response.

Sunday will bring these truths into sharper focus through drama that brings the pilgrim’s journey to life, and a conversation around the questions that arise along the way.

We experienced such a profound awakening in God’s presence this past Sunday! Our hearts were deeply challenged to re-evaluate our daily priorities and pursue what truly matters.

Topic: The Cost of the Omission of Christ

The shadow consists of many things: ordinances, festivals, and ceremonies ... but the Substance is one: Christ. To omit the Substance is a costly and catastrophic mistake.

A man may bear the name Christian or teacher of the Word for 60 years and still never know Christ. If he dies without the Substance, heaven will have no sympathy; he has lost his soul.

The omission of Christ is why many believers cannot say "No" to sin; the power is absent.

That is why Scripture says, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above..." (Colossians 3:1). The Substance is found by SEEKING.

What you truly seek is what you deliberately give your time to. If you don't settle the issue of your time and schedule, you will never truly find Christ.

Your next 10 years can be predicted by how you spend your 24 hours today.

Daniel, a president over presidents, consistently created time to seek God. We have no excuse. Labour, do business! but never at the expense of the Substance.

Don't read the Bible merely to become a better preacher. Seek life before ministry. Let God prepare the man before He uses him.

Between Acts 9 verse 25 and 26 are about 17 years that Paul spent on seeking to know Christ. He wasn't seeking visibility or popularity. That secret pursuit separated him from the crowd and became the foundation of his public ministry.

As you seek God, you'll become a god to the "Pharaohs" confronting your life. For it is in waiting (as a lifestyle) in God's presence that the indulgences of the flesh are dealt with.

WHAT WILL YOU DO ABOUT YOUR TIME IN ORDER THAT YOU MIGHT SEEK GOD?

Reflective Prayer:
"Lord, grant me the discipline to prioritize seeking You above all else. Help me to boldly order my time and schedule so that I may find the true Substance, who is Christ."

It is one thing to live in Babylon; It is another for Babylon to live in you.

Long before Babylon conquered Jerusalem, its greatest victory was the temptation to reshape God's people from within. Israel's tragedy was not simply that they were in Babylon, but that Babylon slowly found its way into them.

This is the story of many young people today. We live in a world that celebrates compromise and pressures us to lower our convictions. Yet God's call remains:

"Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul." (1 Peter 2:11)

This year's YOUTH WEEK is a call to live as strangers and pilgrims in a world that is not our home. Over these three days, we trust God to strengthen our convictions and equip us to stand faithfully in a generation that desperately needs His light.

If you desire a deeper walk with God and the grace to stand without compromise, then don't miss these three days.

Come prayerfully. Come expectantly. Invite someone intentionally. God bless you.
