Sermon: Pastor G. M. Okon
Topic: Demanded Offering
Text: Proverbs 3 : 1-5
verse 5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
*As children of the Lord and followers of Christ, the Lord demands that we must submit to Him and trust Him. We should not lean on our understanding but trust in the Lord for He alone knows what's best for us.
Genesis 15: 1-5
After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward. ”
But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”
And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”
Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.”
He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
*The story of Abraham is well known to us, Abraham who had no child but kept his faith on God and trusted Him despite being childless at old age was rewarded with a son and through him came many nations, and he is known as the "Father of many Nations".
We should learn to trust in the Lord as Demanded Offerings of God, we shouldn't lean to our understanding but be rest assured that the Lord who knows best will work wonders in our lives.
