Judas was one of the Apostles of Jesus Christ. He was also enlisted in the race and he did a lot of exploits. However, he ended badly. He could not deny himself and take up his cross to follow Jesus. The scripture says that better is the end of a thing than its beginning thereof (Ecclesiastes 7:8). We all need the grace to run the race to the end.
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.
In other words; The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.
Receive the grace to finish well, in Jesus’ Name!
