HERE IS WHAT HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHEN WE FINISH FASTING
I don't know if it happens to you, but I have noticed that sometimes after I attempt a fast, I will be welcomed by funny events that will attempt to make a mess of my little spiritual investment.
On one of the recent occasions, I failed, and I felt embarrassed.
As I pondered, I remembered the Scriptures on the temptations of Jesus in Matthew 4:1-11.
The devil came to tempt Jesus when He had just finished 40 days of fasting and prayer.
I realized that the devil is a very bold being
He was not afraid of tempting Jesus as the Son of God
He was not even afraid of tempting Him after the 40 days of fasting and prayer
Satan came boldly to Jesus after the 40 days of fasting and prayer and tempted Him comfortably.
It then dawned on me that the devil is not necessarily afraid of our years, months, days, or hours of fasting.
He knows that he can abort all the spiritual ingredients we have gathered during your period of fasting and prayer or any other form of spiritual engagement by a single temptation.
The spiritual resources or ingredients we have gathered can be likened to the eggs. They are precious yet fragile.
Satan knows that we can do much with these eggs.
He wants to waste them.
Since he could not stop us from gathering the eggs, he is out to waste our efforts by causing us to slip, trip, or fall so that we break the eggs.
He is eagerly waiting for us to come out so that he can waste everything we have laboured for in the place of fasting and prayer.
He has prepared temptations just at the opening of the door as you step out from the place of fasting and prayer.
These temptations can take diverse forms - thoughts, actions, reactions, people, etc.
But by all means, they will come.
Remember that the devil's goal is clear.
He comes to kill, to steal, and to destroy.
One thing is common among these things - to waste.
Do you know what?
📍 You can only kill what is alive.
📍 You can only steal where there is an abundance
📍 You can only destroy what has the potential to grow.
Satan is a waster.
He wastes by stealing, killing, and destroying
He wants to quickly abort the possibilities you have gathered during the fasting and prayer
He wants to quickly deflate the energy you have acquired.
He wants to render useless all your spiritual investments in the shortest possible time.
Apostle Paul admonished us to not be ignorant of the devices of the devil.
Here is one of his devices - to waste everything you have gathered during fasting and prayer.
Be careful of this device.
