- Day 143

David appealed to God’s faithfulness & righteousness: Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness & righteousness come to my relief (v1). He realised that as mortals, full of moral failings, those were the only things that can qualify us for God's intervention. Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you (v2)

Are you currently going through difficult life challenges like David?
3 The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground
4 So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed.

See David's response to the enemy's attack:
5 I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all Your works & consider what Your hands have done
6 I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for You like a parched land.
Remembering God’s past deliverance builds our trust for today’s victory.

May we pray like David prayed in v.10: Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground

Day 129

From its very infancy, the enemy has assailed the people of God. "Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth," is the solemn confession of God's covenant people. The plowers did their cruel work, leaving long, painful furrows as a testimony to their hatred. Yet, the enduring confession is this; “they have not prevailed against me." The Lord, in His unwavering righteousness, has always cut the cords of the wicked.

Let the enemies of God's purpose be compared to the grass that sprouts on the housetops, it springs up in shallow soil, only to wither under the sun, useless to the harvester and unworthy of any blessing.

The history of God's people is a history of oppression overcome by divine deliverance. Your personal struggles are part of this larger story. Do not be dismayed by the scars of past battles; they are proof that the enemy's power is limited, but the Lord's delivering power is not. Your endurance is a testimony to God’s faithfulness. Hallelujah!
