Text: Matthew 5:1-end

First thing we established here is that Jesus was talking to His disciples. He gave them 9 categories of blessings called the beatitudes on which the entire scripture hangs on.
The beatitudes means thus:
1. The poor in spirit - those poor in spirit are those that have identified their spiritual inadequacies and lean on the strength of God. They are the opposite of the proud - Luke 18:9-14
They humbly seek righteousness.
2. They that mourn shall be comforted: The Lord promises to comfort those that have genuinely repented of their sins and mourn because of their adversaries.
3. The meek shall inherit the earth: The meek has power and authority to do anything but choose not to because of the sake of Christ.
4. They thirsty shall be filled: Those that thirst after the righteousness of God, his word, presence and glory shall be satisfied.
5. The merciful will obtain mercy: Those that extend their hand of mercy to others shall in turn be pardoned of their sins.
6. The pure in heart shall see God: Those that guard their hearts against evil thoughts and forgive no matter the offence shall make it to heaven and see God.
7. The peacemakers shall be called sons of God: Avoiding trouble and seeking for peace brings us closer to God.
8. The persecuted for Christ shall make heaven
9. Those falsely accused shall get a reward in heaven: Make sure you don't engage in unrighteousness dealings so God will defend you.

Conclusion
We are the salt of this earth and the light of the world, who should be Godly examples and influence to others so as to draw others to Christ.

May the Lord grant us Grace to abide

Text: 2 Kings 2: 1-15, 2 Kings 5: 20-27

Reward is a something given in return for good or evil done. No one is indispensable in the service of God. Before you get reward, there must be a level of persistence and consistency.

Types of rewards:
1. Positive rewards
2. Negative rewards

Examples of people who received rewards:
1. Elisha received from Elijah double portion( Positive reward)
2. Gehazi received leprosy ( Negative)
3. Ananias and Sapphira (Negative)
4. Hophni and Phinehas (Negative)

Rewards for Disobedience
a. Disgrace
b. Injury
c. Death
d. Disease and afflictions
e. Punishment
f. unanswered prayers and loss of fellowship with God.

Rewards for Obedience
a. Long life and prosperity
b. Unexpected favours
c. Blessings
d. Answered prayers

Conclusion
In everything there is a reward and God is interested in obedience than sacrifice.
I Samuel 15: 1-24, Job 36:11.

Topic: Measures of Faith
Text: Hebrews 11:17-20.

A tree that is planted will be strengthened by the wind that blows on it.
Faith is in levels,grades or categories. God will only test us on the level of our faith. Every situation that confronts an individual, we have all it takes to handle it because God will not test you beyond your level. 1 Cor. 10:13.
We have been preordained and wired by God to withstand and and every challenge according to his will.
Faith is tested according to the level we can bear.

LEVELS OF FAITH
1. Level of no faith (faithlessness)- Mark 40:35-40, Matthew 17:17

2. Level of little faith - Matthew 6:30

3. Level of weak faith - Romans 4:19

4. Level of mustard seed faith - Matthew 17:14-20, Luke 17:5.

5. Level of great faith - Luke 7:9.

Those whose faith was tested in the Bible:
1. Abraham (Father of Faith)- Gen. 22:1-9, ROM.4:18-21

2. Joseph- Genesis 50:20

3. Job- Job 1:6-22, Job 23:10, Psalms 66:10

4. Paul- 2 Cor. 11:22-28.

Conclusion
Sometimes, the testing of our faith can affect our emotions, health, jobs, things and people so dear to Us. But we as children of God should know that God is faithful and he will be with you till the very end. Challenges and difficult times only comes to strengthen our faith in God and make us better Christians.
So let us not faint in the day of adversity for it is only for a season.

Prayers:
1. Father, please help me never to throw in the towel in the day of challenges, let me not give up on You.

2. Oh Lord, Please increase my faith in You.

Topic: The Trials of our Faith
Text: James 1: 1-21
Preacher: Pastor Seth Samuel.

Does God tempt a man?
Answer: God does not tempt a man, He only test our faith in Him.
Trials of our faith are experiences that test our faith, our standing,walk and relationship with God. It could be in form of storms of life, resistance, temporary delays etc. The presence of these storms in the life of a believer is not necessarily the absence of God. Trials of our faith helps to strengthen our faith in God, helps us to mature in Christ and how to trust God even more, it also develops our character. 1peter 1:6-7, Isaiah 43:2.
God never promises us a life without trials, but he promises that as we go through them, he will be there through it all.

WHY DOES GOD TRY OUR FAITH?

1. God tries our faith to know the motives and genuineness of our walk with Him.

2. It is only when our faith is tested that the reality of our faith is proven beyond measure.
Genesis 22: 1, 12

3. He tries our faith to increase the measure of our faith. Romans 4:20

4. He tries our faith to secure the preciousness of our faith. 1 Peter 1:7, Malachi 3:3

5. He tries our faith to use the testimony.
2 Corinthians 11: 22-28

Prayers:

Father, please help me to stay strong and never to give up on you no matter what I go through. Amen.

Text: Genesis 2: 1-3

God is a God of principles, times and seasons.
And on the 7th day, he did 3 things:

1. Every work He begun was completed on the 7th day - verse 3, Phil. 1:6

2. God rested on the 7th day - verse 3, 1Kings 5:4, 4:24

3. God blessed the 7th day - verse 3.

Conclusion
God is set to do something great in our lives this month, but we have to come to him purged from all unrighteousness and be sanctified.
1 Timothy 2:21.

Prayer Point:
1. Father, purge me from whatsoever that will allow me to have rest this month.
2. Lord, please grant me divine rest and peace on every side this month in Jesus name.
3. Father, bless my life and the works of my hands this month in Jesus name..

Theme: Divine Favour

Topic: The favour of God
Text: Psalms 102: 13
Preacher: Pastor Seth Samuel.

Favour comes from God, it is the goodwill, goodness, and kindness of God upon a man.
It is the good face of God. Proverbs 16:15

What happens when God shows us favour?
1. The favour of God ushers a man to a life of preference. Esther 2: 15-17.

2. The favour of God brings life. Psalm 30:5

3. God's favour brings divine conception - Luke 1: 30-31

4. God's favour delivers inheritance and possession to Us. Psalms 44:3.

Conditions to attract the favour of God:
God's favour does not come by accident, there are conditions to be met to attract His favour and these conditions are;
1. Be deliberate in asking and pleading for the mercies of God. Lam. 3:22, Psalms 90:14.
Mercy secures divine attention and provokes supernatural intervention.

2. You must cry out and reach out to God. Never keep quiet when you're in need of God's favour. Mark 10:46-52, psalms 56:9, Daniel 9:17-21.

3. Be obedient to God and His word. 1John 3:22, Isaiah 1:19.

4. Maximize every opportunity given to you or that comes your way. Don't play with your life, because you are not in charge of time. If you waste your time, you waste your life.

5. Be a blessing to others. Be ready to give to others, so you can receive the favour of God. Ecclesiastes 11:1-2, Proverbs 11:24-26, Mark 5:7.

Prayers:

Father, please position me for your help and divine favour and bless me also to reach out and be a blessing to others. Amen.
