MDL Reflections

SUNDAY, JANUARY 05

Mat 4:17, Act 3:19 Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

"REPENTANCE - Unlimited Access into God's Presence":

"If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2Chro 7:14)

Repentance is the act of turning away from sin and turning towards God, acknowledging our wrongdoing, and seeking forgiveness and restoration. It's a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith, enabling us to access God's presence, receive forgiveness, and experience transformation. (1John 1:9, Acts 3:19).

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1John 1:8-10)

CHARACTERS:
David, the king of Israel, when he sinned with Bathsheba and had her husband Uriah killed, David initially tried to cover up his sin. However, when confronted by the prophet Nathan, David repented, acknowledging his wrongdoing and seeking God's forgiveness (2Sam 12:1-15, Psalm 51). David's repentance restored his relationship with God, and he continued to serve as king.

Zacchaeus, a tax collector, when Jesus came to Jericho, Zacchaeus climbed a tree to see Him. Jesus noticed Zacchaeus and invited Himself to Zacchaeus' home. Zacchaeus, moved by Jesus' kindness, repented of his sinful ways, promising to give half of his possessions to the poor and to repay four times the amount he had cheated from others (Luke 19:1-10). Zacchaeus' repentance led to his salvation and transformation.

REFLECTION LESSONS:
1. Repentance is essential for accessing God's presence: Repentance is the doorway to God's presence, allowing us to approach Him with confidence and receive forgiveness, healing, and restoration. (Heb 10:22, 1John 1:9)

2. Repentance requires humility and honesty: True repentance involves acknowledging our sin, taking responsibility for our actions, and seeking forgiveness. It requires humility, honesty, and a willingness to change. (Prov 28:13, 1John 1:8-9)

3. Repentance leads to transformation and restoration: When we repent, we open ourselves up to God's transformative power. Repentance leads to healing, restoration, renewal, and a deeper relationship with God. (2Cor 5:17, 2Chr 7:14, Psa 51:10-12, James 5:16)

"Repentance attracts more grace & mercy, where God's love and forgiveness transforms our brokenness into new creations."

When we repent, we're not just seeking forgiveness; we're seeking a deeper relationship with God and a transformed new life.
As you turn away from every appealing sin and turn towards God, you will embrace His love, and receive His restoration today. In Jesus name.

APPLICABLE ACTIONS:
1. Acknowledge and confess your sin: Take time to search yourself and reflect on your actions and attitudes. Acknowledge your sin, and confess it to God, seeking His forgiveness and restoration. (1 John 1:9, Psalm 51:3-4, 139:23-24).

2. Seek forgiveness and make amends: When possible, seek forgiveness from those you've wronged, and make amends for your actions. This demonstrates your commitment to repentance and restoration. (Matt 5:23-24, Luke 19:8-9)

3. Walk in obedience and humility: After repenting, commit to walking in obedience to God's Word and humility before Him. This will help you maintain a clean conscience, transformed life and a strong relationship with God. (Rom 5:20-21, 1John 2:3-6, Prov 28:13)

Take home:
- Humble yourself
- Acknowledge your sin
- Seek & Return to God's presence
- Confess & Forsake sin
- Turn a new living.

PRAYERS:
Dear God, I acknowledge my sin and repent of my wrongdoing. Please forgive me and restore me to a right relationship with You.

Heavenly Father, please, help me to walk in obedience and humility, maintaining a clean conscience and a strong relationship with You. Give me the strength to resist temptation and to seek forgiveness when I fail.

I pray for you today;
May God's mercy and forgiveness surround you, as you repent and seek restoration. May you experience the joy of forgiveness, the peace of reconciliation, and the power of transformation, as you walk in obedience and humility being conscious of God's presence at all times and all places. In Jesus name. Amen!

PRINCIPLE 5:
Persistent effort through challenges yields increase.

DAY 5: PERSEVERANCE & ENDURANCE (Jam 1:12, Gal 6:9)

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures trials because, after he has been proved, he shall receive a crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Gal 6:9 Now we should not lose heart in doing well because we who do not faint will reap in due time.

DEFINITION:
Persistent effort through challenges

CHARACTER:
Job (Job 1:21-22, 42:10-17)

Job 1:21-22 And he said, "Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." In all this Job did not sin, nor charge God foolishly.

Job 42:10 And the LORD lifted up the face of Job when he prayed for his friends. Also the LORD added double to Job all that had been his.

Job 42:12-17 And the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than the beginning. For he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys. He also had seven sons and three daughters. And he called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren -Happuch. And in all the land there were not found women as beautiful as the daughters of Job. And their father gave them inheritance among their brothers. After this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and he saw his sons, and his sons' sons, four generations. And Job died, being old and full of days.

Again, we see here that it is God who brings the increase upon our acts of plantings and watering. Endeavour to take the following actions while Persistently enduring the season between Sowing time and Harvest.

APPLICABLE ACTIONS
- Stay committed,
- Push through difficulties in Prayers
- Trust God’s sovereignty

NOTE: "Endure with patience, harvest in joy."

*PRAYERS:*
1. Strengthen My Faith
- "Lord, build my faith and help me trust Your promises through life's challenges and setbacks." (Luk 17:5-6, Heb 11:6)

2. Grant Me Endurance
- "Father, I recieve the grace to endure to the end and run the race You've set before me, fixing my eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of faith." (Heb 12:1-3, Jam 1:2-4)

3. Renew My Strength
- "Lord, in my days of waiting, please, rejuvenate my physical, emotional, and spiritual strength like the eagle's, that I may soar above challenges and continue to press forward." (Isa 40:31, Psalm 103:5)

4. Focus My Mind
- "Father, help me fix my thoughts and set my mind on You and Your kingdom, avoiding distractions and staying focused on Your plans." (Phil 4:8-9, Heb 12:2)

Beloved, may you not drawback before your season of increase due of life challenges; I pray for you that you recieve grace today, persevere and endure what God will not change before the season of increase in your life and ministry!
You will experience increase.
In Jesus Name!
Amen!

Blessings πŸ™Œ.
See you tomorrow.
