Homily Summary
We set out with hope, and oftentimes on the way we encounter confusion. At such moments, God draws nearer and stays with us.

The Gospel today presents to us the journey to Emmaus by the two disciples. Their journey was one of confusion, yet Christ came into their midst.

Each of us experiences times of disappointment, struggles, and despair. In those moments, we must recognize that God is close. Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we too may walk in confusion. Yet the Risen Christ draws near, opens our hearts, and turns our sorrow into joy.

Even in times of enjoyment and affluence, we should remember that God is present.
In every state of life, God is always with us, turning our challenges into hope and faith.

Try not to allow your challenging moments to define you.
Christ works and walks with us, even in our confusion.

When facing illness, loss of a job, or feeling abandoned, remember that Christ is walking beside you.
In moments of joy and abundance, remain grateful and attentive to God’s presence.

May we always recognize Christ walking with us, even when our eyes are dimmed by confusion.

The joy of Easter reminds us that despair is never the final word, Christ transforms it into hope.

Homily Summary.
- We gather today to celebrate the mercy of God upon mankind.
- This feast was formally instituted in the year 2000, though the revelation has been ongoing since the 1930s.
- We are here to celebrate the limitless mercy of God.
- There is no amount of sin committed that is greater than God’s mercy.

Message From The Readings
- In today’s readings, the disciples shared their possessions in common.
- They teach us that what we have is not for us alone, but also for our brothers and sisters.
- This sharing led people to call the disciples Christians.
- Charity breeds unity and togetherness.

Application To Christian Life
- Just as Christ greeted the disciples with peace, we are urged to become ambassadors of peace.
- Despite Peter’s denial, he became the leader of the apostles and worked hard for the kingdom.
- Our sins are not counted against us - return today and obtain God’s mercy.
- Mercy is seen as grace and forgiveness.
- The mercy of God is unmerited, unfathomable, and free to all.
- Grace and effort are needed for this race.

On Forgiveness
- Forgiveness is costly and difficult, yet God commands us to keep forgiving.
- Forgiveness is costly, yes - it is choosing peace over war, joy over sadness.
- We forgive not because people deserve it, but for our own peace and because we are Christians.

*Homily Summary*

* The Lenten journey began on Ash Wednesday and has led us prayerfully into Holy Week.
* Today, we celebrate our faith: the Resurrection of Christ.
*Despite Judas’ betrayal and Peter’s denial, Christ died and rose to fulfill His mission.
*Christ endured pain and suffering, continued His journey to Calvary, and died on the cross out of love for mankind.
*His death brought despair to the disciples, but His resurrection brought great joy.
*Mary Magdalene went to the tomb intending to anoint Christ’s body, but instead encountered the Resurrection.
*She found the empty tomb and hurried to inform the Apostles, the first announcement of Christ’s Resurrection.
*Mary thus became the first preacher of the Resurrection.
*The crucifixion was thought to be Christ’s end, but it marked the beginning of a new journey.
*Our celebration today commemorates the foundation of the Christian calling: we must wear the crown through the cross.

St. Paul advises us to watch our attitudes towards our brothers and sisters.

The story of Lazarus presents a hopeless state, but the arrival of Christ brought life and hope.

When cast down or hopeless, see the person of Christ calling you to Himself for solace.

Remember that Christ is the resurrection and the life; the point is that you believe in Him.

Christ is the one who can translate and transform hopelessness into hopeful expectation and life.

In situations, conditions, and challenges that bring hopelessness - even in the worst of them all - Jesus says that He is aware of them. Just exercise a little faith and see Him act.

Martha was asked if she believed. She said, “Yes.” Her faithlessness was changed into faithfulness and hope.

We ought to beg for the Spirit of God to come upon us, to transform us and give us joy, rewriting our history.

Ask for the courage to believe in God and, in silence, see the moving hand of God.

Homily Summary
Theme: A Movement from Darkness to Light

The first reading today presents the anointing of David as king.
One significant lesson is that God does not see as man sees.

Samuel was impressed when he saw Jesse’s first son, but God said, “He is not the one.”

Do not be swayed by appearances; follow the prompting of the Spirit.

When God is involved in your case, it becomes a breakthrough.

Today, we often elect leaders based on appearances or personal benefits. The story of David becoming king reminds us that we should discern deeply and not judge by outward appearances.

Sadly, injustice, bribery, corruption, and other vices have blinded us. Yet Jesus has come to open our eyes, just as He opened the eyes of the blind man in the Gospel reading. The question is: are we ready to speak to God?

Growing in faith means growing in maturity.

Our response to challenges and situations matters greatly.

As we journey through the Stations of the Cross, we are reminded of the depth of Christ’s love and sacrifice for us. Each station is not just a moment in His suffering, but an invitation to reflect on our own lives, our faith, and the hope of resurrection.
May these stations inspire us to carry our own crosses with courage, compassion, and trust in God’s plan.

Homily Summary

Today, the essence of water is brought to the fore. The story of the Samaritan woman presents to us the need to seek after the eternal water that quenches every thirst.

Jesus desires to break the barriers we have set - social, cultural, and personal. By this gospel, He broke the barrier between Jews and Samaritans. The question remains: Are we ready to let Him break ours?

Conversion is not the end of the journey; it is the beginning. When we are converted, we are called to become evangelizers, sharing the good news with others.

To be a Christian is not only about being present in church. It is about living the faith both in church and at home, in our daily choices and relationships.

Homily Summary

Today’s readings remind us that obedience to the will of God is the key to a fruitful journey through life. Faithfulness ensures triumph in this Lenten pilgrimage.

When the road becomes difficult, Christ is always present to lighten our path. Accepting His mission often means leaving behind our comfort zones, just as Abraham did when he set out for the land God showed him.

Our response to God’s call echoes the song we sing: “Abraham’s blessings are mine…” Remaining steadfast in His will opens us to His goodness.

This season invites us to leave behind bad habits and all that hold us back, and to follow Christ wholeheartedly. The grace of God sustains us, enabling us to respond positively to His call.

Christ’s life teaches us that there is no gain without pain. Victory comes through the cross, and walking with Him to Calvary grants us the grace of His resurrection light.

Lent is not only about fasting from food, but also fasting from vices. True fasting purifies the heart and strengthens our resolve to walk in obedience to God.

Homily Summary

Today's readings present many pointers to this penitential season of Lent. The liturgical colour is purple, and during this season the Gloria and Alleluia are not sung at Mass.

We are now on a spiritual retreat in preparation for the joy of Easter. This season places before us choices and decision-making.

Temptations are bound to happen, but they are not sins in themselves. They only become sins when we yield to them.

Eve became a victim of temptation because of the choice she made. Abraham, however, took a stand in his faith. Even when tempted, he overcame because his choice was rooted in faith. Likewise, Job stood firm in his faith when tested.

Often, Christ allows our faith to be tested to see how strong we truly are.

The first reading reminds us that not all knowledge is beneficial for our growth and development.

Sin separates us from God. Adam and Eve once enjoyed His presence and even His voice, but they lost this privilege when they sinned.

The temptations of Christ touch all the human senses, teaching us to be careful and watchful. Temptation arises from desires and cravings.

Live according to your means and your size. Learn to say “no” when the need arises.

Christ conquered temptation through His deep-rootedness in the Word of God. We too must equip ourselves with Scripture.

Our choices determine whether we stand against or fall into temptation.

Today’s message is an invitation to deeper scriptural study and prayer, so that we may be strengthened to resist temptation.

*Homily Summary*

Today's celebration is the open door to the Lenten season.
It is a call for all of us to come to the Messiah.
A time to recall Christ’s suffering and death.
A time for sober reflection and pondering on His teachings.

Return to the Lord with a sincere heart and in humility.
Three Ways Presented to Us to Return to the Lord
- Prayer
- Fasting
- Almsgiving

In these days of social media, the charity we do is often broadcast.
Worldly reward is temporary, but God’s reward is eternal.

The ashes remind us of man’s nothingness: from dust we came, and to dust we shall return.

This is a season of detachment from things that do not last.
Return today, do not procrastinate.

God hands us a cheque to fill; use it properly and wisely.
To make better choices, St. Paul tells us to seek wisdom that comes from the Lord.

Yes, fasting from food and drink is good. But this time, can we also fast from gossip, slander, excessive phone use, and other habits?

Recognize those weaknesses that take you far from God, and fast from them.
