📖 SUNDAY DIVINE SERVICE 29.09.2024 (Sermon Highlights)

Speaker: V/Rev. Jim C. Okere
Topic: God Still Answers Prayers
Text: Esther 7:2-5
²And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.
³Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:
⁴For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.
⁵Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?

🎺 Salient Points

🔸️ When it becomes tough, go on your kneed: God will surely answer.

🔸️ Est. 4:15-17. Time comes when the ties break with even the person you have good relations with: if you have any problem, first present it before God.

🔸️ A man of prayer is a favoured man. If you want to attract favour, learn how to pray. If you remain in your prayer life as believers in Christ, the devil can have no victory over you.

🔸️ You may be in a situation wherein people mock you and your God; know that God is surely there for you and will answer you.

🔸️ Whenever you are bold, your enemies will be afraid. If you're not bold, they will feel their craft is working.

🔸️ Esther, Mordecai and the Jews' prayer brought about hundreds of years deliverance from their enemies.

🔸️ For those who trust in God, He can never allow them to miss the way.

✅WATCH WORD

🎺 God still answers prayers: only trust in Him solely.

📖 SUNDAY DIVINE SERVICE 22.09.2024 (Sermon Highlights)

Speaker: V/Rev. Jim C. Okere
Topic: Remove Excess Luggage to Enter the Kingdom of God
Text: Mark 9:42-43
⁴²And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
⁴³And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

🎺 Salient Points

🔸️ We are in a critical journey and there exists distractions that will want to take us out of the path.

🔸️ As Jesus admonished His disciples, take away those excess luggages that will make us shift from the right direction (v. 43).

🔸️ What are those luggages we need to remove?

🔸️ Do away with ungodly gathering, evil associations (Psalms 1). Jesus advised that it is better to have cut off what we have normally and enter heaven than to have everything complete and enter hell (vss. 43-48).

🔸️ Cut off your hand if it all it does is to make you do the wrong thing. Cut off your foot if its direction is to the wrong place to do the wrong thing. Guard your eyes than to let it see what isn't right as it did to Samson (Judges 16:23-28).

🔸️ Anything you're doing that is contrary to saving your soul is evil. Our going to church is to build and remain in faith to attain heaven: every other thing is vanity.

✅WATCH WORD

🎺 Cut off that life that doesn't glorify God. Remove those excess luggages and handover your life to God.

📖 SUNDAY DIVINE SERVICE 15.09.2024 (Sermon Highlights)

Speaker: V/Rev. Jim C. Okere
Topic: Guard Your Tongue to Save Your Soul
Text: James 3:13
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

🎺 Salient Points

🔸️ From vss. 1-10, Paul gave a sound warning that we must adhere to. Mind the words that come out of your mouth: they have more power than a sword.

🔸️ The tongue is that little matchstick fire that can set a whole forest ablaze.

🔸️ If you can tame your tongue, you have tamed your whole self: you become perfect. The tongue's purpose is to bless not to gossip or destroy someone else's image.

🔸️ We are dust: let us guard our tongue and make good use of it. One of the best ways to guard our tongue is to pray the prayer of Psalm 19:14 — "May my words and my thoughts be acceptable to you, O Lord, my refuge and my redeemer!"

🔸️ Another way to guard our tongue is in Prov. 15:1 — A gentle answer quiets anger, but a harsh one stirs it up.

🔸️ Thirdly, Proverbs 12 vs. 18 — Thoughtless words can wound as deeply as any sword, but wisely spoken words can heal.

🔸️ Additionally, Proverbs 21 vs. 23 — If you want to stay out of trouble, be careful what you say; and,

🔸️ Finally, Proverbs 10 vss. 11, 19-20
¹¹A good person's words are a fountain of life, but a wicked person's words hide a violent nature. ¹⁹The more you talk, the more likely you are to sin. If you are wise, you will keep quiet. ²⁰A good person's words are like pure silver; a wicked person's ideas are worthless.

🔸️ Jesus again gave His followers an advice in Mark 8:31-37 — ...³³But Jesus turned around, looked at his disciples, and rebuked Peter. “Get away from me, Satan,” he said. “Your thoughts don't come from God but from human nature!” ³⁴Then Jesus called the crowd and his disciples to him. “If any of you want to come with me,” he told them, “you must forget yourself, carry your cross, and follow me... ³⁶Do you gain anything if you win the whole world but lose your life? Of course not! ³⁷There is nothing you can give to regain your life.

🔸️ Your soul is very important. Say things that will edify the church, that will glorify God.

✅WATCH WORD

🎺 Do your best to save your soul from eternal destruction by guarding your tongue.
