Topic: The Significant Role of the Mother in Building the Family, Church, and Society
Texts: Genesis 1:27–28 Genesis 4:1–2 Isaiah 49:15 Proverbs 31:25–28

INTRODUCTION
God created both male and female in His own image and gave them unique responsibilities. Among these responsibilities is the noble calling of motherhood. Mothers are special gifts from God, designed to nurture, guide, protect, and build lives.

Today, as we celebrate mothers, we recognize their powerful influence in the family, the church, and society. A godly mother is not only a caregiver but also a builder of destinies, a teacher of values, and a spiritual pillar.
Proverbs 31:28 says:
> “Her children arise up, and call her blessed…”

A good mother leaves footprints of love, discipline, prayer, and godliness wherever she goes.

WHO IS A MOTHER?
A mother is a woman who nurtures, cares for, protects, teaches, and guides children with love and sacrifice. Motherhood is not only biological but also spiritual and emotional.

Categories of Mothers
A. Biological mothers
B. Legal/adoptive mothers
C. Step/foster mothers
D. Spiritual mothers
All these categories of mothers play important roles in shaping lives and society.

1. THE ROLE OF MOTHERS IN THE FAMILY

The family is the foundation of every society, and mothers play a major role in keeping that foundation strong.

A. Mothers Carry and Nurture Life:
From pregnancy to childbirth and breastfeeding, mothers sacrifice greatly for their children.
Isaiah 49:15 says:
> “Can a woman forget her sucking child…?”

This shows the deep love and compassion God placed in mothers.

Lessons:
Mothers are symbols of care and sacrifice.
Children should appreciate and honor their mothers.

B. Mothers Are Caregivers and Nurturers:
A mother provides emotional, physical, and spiritual care for the family.

She:
Comforts the weak
Encourages the discouraged
Supports the family during difficult times
A nurturing mother raises emotionally stable and responsible children.

C. Mothers Teach Moral Values:
One of the greatest responsibilities of a mother is teaching good character.
Mothers teach:
Respect
Responsibility
Kindness
Honesty
Discipline
The future behavior of children is often shaped by the teachings they receive at home.

Illustration:
Timothy became a faithful servant of God because of the godly influence of his mother Eunice and grandmother Lois.

D. Mothers Help Manage the Home:
A wise mother helps maintain peace, order, and unity in the family.
Proverbs 31 describes a woman who:
Works diligently
Plans wisely
Takes care of her household
A mother who manages the home with wisdom becomes a blessing to her family.

E. Mothers Promote Family Unity:
Mothers often serve as peacemakers and bridge-builders in the home.

They:
Encourage love among family members
Settle conflicts
Keep the family together through prayer and wisdom

2. THE ROLE OF MOTHERS IN THE CHURCH
Mothers are pillars in the house of God.
A. Spiritual Nurturing
Mothers help children and young believers grow in the knowledge of God.

They teach:
Prayer
Obedience to God
Bible reading
Christian values
Many children first learn about Jesus from their mothers.

B. Mothers as Role Models
A godly lifestyle speaks louder than words.
When mothers live holy and faithful lives:
Children imitate them
Younger believers are encouraged
Matthew 5:16 says:
> “Let your light so shine before men…”

C. Mentoring Others

Mothers mentor:
Children
Young women
Church members

They serve faithfully in:
Sunday School
Women fellowship
Choir
Prayer group
Their experience and wisdom help strengthen the church.

D. Prayer and Intercession
Many homes and churches stand today because praying mothers refused to give up.
A praying mother:
Covers her family spiritually
Intercedes for the church
Seeks God for protection and direction
Prayer is one of the greatest weapons God has given mothers.

3. THE ROLE OF MOTHERS IN SOCIETY
A. Mothers Are Primary Educators
Children who become future leaders first learn from their mothers.
The values planted by mothers shape the future of society.
A good mother produces:
Responsible citizens
God-fearing leaders
Peaceful communities

B. Mothers Influence Character and Behavior
The behavior of society is greatly connected to the quality of parenting.

When mothers teach discipline and morality:
Crime reduces
Respect increases
Society becomes better

Topic: The Believer’s Authority
Text: Mark 16:16

Introduction
We live in a world filled with fear, oppression, and spiritual battles. Many believers are saved but still live as if they are powerless. The truth is: every true believer has been given authority by Jesus Christ.

Authority is not about shouting or physical strength—it is about spiritual position in Christ.

1. The Source of the Believer’s Authority
Our authority comes from Jesus Christ Himself.
Matthew 28:18 – “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Luke 10:19 – Jesus gave us power over the enemy.

Key Point:
You are not operating in your own strength, but in the authority of Christ.

2. Who is a Believer?
According to Mark 16:16:
“A believer is one who has believed and is baptized.”
A true believer:
Has faith in Jesus Christ
Has surrendered his/her life
Lives according to God’s Word
Authority is not for everyone—it is for genuine believers.

3. What Authority Has the Believer Been Given?
a. Authority over the devil
James 4:7 – Resist the devil and he will flee
You don’t beg the devil—you command him
b. Authority over sickness
Mark 16:17-18 – They shall lay hands on the sick
c. Authority over circumstances
Speak to situations (Mark 11:23)
Key Insight:
Your words carry power when backed by faith.

4. Why Many Believers Don’t Walk in Authority
Lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6)
Sin and disobedience
Fear and doubt
Prayerlessness
You cannot exercise authority if you don’t understand it.

5. How to Walk in Your Authority
a. Know who you are in Christ
2 Corinthians 5:17
b. Live a holy life
Sin weakens spiritual authority
c. Use the Word of God
Jesus defeated Satan with the Word
d. Pray with boldness
Authority grows in the place of prayer

6. Demonstrating Authority
Authority must be exercised:
Speak with confidence
Command situations to change
Stand your ground in faith

RCCN BIKA BABBA SUNDAY || WORSHIP||
Date: 12th April, 2026
Speaker: Rev. R.M. Yerima
Theme: Jesus Gives Real Peace
Texts: Luke 24:13–31, 36–39 & John 14:27

Introduction
We live in a world filled with unrest, fear, confusion, and uncertainty. Nations are troubled, communities are divided, and many hearts are burdened with anxiety and worry. Despite advancements in technology, education, and governance, true peace still seems far from reach.
People are searching for peace in many places—wealth, relationships, power—but these often fail to satisfy the deep longing of the human heart. This shows clearly that what humanity needs is not just temporary relief, but true and lasting peace.

Definition of Key Words
1. Real
- Genuine and not artificial
- Authentic and trustworthy
- Lasting and dependable, not temporary

2. Peace
- Inner calmness and rest of the soul
- Freedom from fear, anxiety, and distress
- A state of harmony with God, oneself, and others

Types of Peace
1. Inner Peace
This is the peace within the heart—a calmness that remains even in the midst of storms. It is not controlled by external circumstances.

2. Peace with God
This comes through salvation. When a person is reconciled with God, the enmity caused by sin is removed, and a relationship of peace is restored.

3. Peace with Others
This is expressed through healthy relationships, forgiveness, love, and unity among people.

What Causes Lack of Peace in the World
- Sin and Disobedience:
Sin separates man from God, the source of peace.

- Fear and Uncertainty:
Fear of the unknown disturbs the heart.

- Conflicts and Hatred:
Strife in families, communities, and nations destroys peace.

- Lack of Trust in God:
When people rely only on themselves, anxiety increases.

Human Efforts Toward Peace (and Their Limitations)
a. Government policies and reforms
b. Peace talks, negotiations, and treaties
c. Personal self-help and human wisdom
➡️ While these efforts may bring temporary relief, they often fail because they do not address the root problem—the sinful nature of the human heart.

How Jesus Gives Real Peace
1. Through His Presence
In Luke 24:36, Jesus appeared to His disciples and said, “Peace be unto you.”
His presence alone brings calmness, assurance, and comfort even in fearful situations.
2. Through His Word
In John 14:27, Jesus said:
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you…”
His Word strengthens, reassures, and stabilizes the believer’s heart.
3. Through Salvation and Forgiveness
Jesus restores our relationship with God by forgiving our sins. This brings true peace with God.
4. Through Faith and Trust in Him
When we trust Jesus completely, we experience peace that is not shaken by circumstances.

Conclusion
True peace is not found in the world—it is found in Jesus Christ alone. His peace is real, lasting, and unshakable.
Let every believer:
Trust Him fully
Depend on His Word
Walk daily in His presence

Call to Action
If you are troubled, come to Jesus—He is the Prince of Peace.
If you are already a believer, remain in Him and let His peace rule your heart.
Choose to live daily in the peace that only Christ can give.

RCCN BIKA BABBA SUNDAY || HOLY COMMUNION || WORSHIP||
Date:- 5TH April, 2026
Speaker: Rev. R.M. Yerima
Theme: The Resurrection of Jesus and Its Significance to the Christian Faith.
Texts: Gospel of Matthew 28:1–7; First Epistle to the Corinthians 15:3–8, 12–19

Introduction:
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian faith. Without the resurrection, Christianity would have no power, hope, or meaning. The resurrection proves that Jesus conquered sin, death, and the grave.
When believers gather for Holy Communion, we remember not only Christ’s death but also celebrate His victory through the resurrection.

Definition of Key Terms:
a. Resurrection:
Resurrection means rising from the dead to life again.
Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and on the third day He rose again by the power of God.
b. Significance:
Significance means importance or meaning.
In this context, it refers to why the resurrection matters to Christians and how it affects our faith and salvation.

Arguments Against the Resurrection and Their Refutation:
Some people doubt the resurrection and give different arguments:

Argument 1:
Jesus did not really die Some claim Jesus only fainted.
Refutation:
Roman soldiers confirmed His death and even pierced His side. A dead body was placed in the tomb.

Argument 2:
The disciples stole the body
Some say the followers of Jesus removed His body.
Refutation:
The tomb was sealed and guarded. Also, the disciples later suffered persecution and death for their testimony. No one dies for something they know is a lie.

Argument 3:
The resurrection was only a myth
Some think it was invented later.
Refutation:
According to Paul, many witnesses saw the risen Christ, including more than 500 people.

The Significance of Christ’s Resurrection:
1. It proves Jesus is the Son of God;
The resurrection confirms the divine authority of Jesus Christ.
2. It gives victory over sin and death;
Through Christ’s resurrection, believers have forgiveness and new life.
3. It gives hope of eternal life;
Because Jesus lives, Christians have the hope that they will also rise again.
4. It gives power for Christian living;
The resurrection power enables believers to live holy lives.
5. It gives meaning to Holy Communion;
When we take the bread and the cup, we remember Christ’s sacrifice and celebrate the living Savior.

Conclusion
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the heart of the Christian message. As believers participate in Holy Communion today, we remember that Christ died for our sins and rose again for our justification.
Therefore, our faith is not in a dead Savior but in a living Lord.
