THE WORD OF GOD (2)

Hebrews 4:12
[12]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

It's clear that God's Word is live (living).
Let's examine some scenarios.

Psalms 107:19-20
[19]Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.
[20]He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

God's Word is living; at such, it heals and delivers from destruction.
Thus, the Word of God has NO CAPACITY to destroy. Selah!

John 10:10
[10]The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
God's Word is life. Thus, the Word of God has NO CAPACITY to kill.

Back to Lazarus:
John 11:20-23
[20]Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
[21]Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
[22]But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
[23]Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

Jesus mentioned to Martha: your brother shall rise again. This was NOT JUST a statement.
He speaks from the standpoint of Life.
He is the person of the WORD.
John 1:3-4
[3]All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[4]In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Jesus conversation with Martha is ACTIVE because HE LIVES.
John 11:24-25
[24]Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
[25]Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Martha's reply showed up her ignorance [so to say] in the understanding of the person of the WORD.

Jesus here is reintroducing Himself to Martha "I am the resurrection and the life".

Paul wrote out clearly concerning our faith;
1 Corinthians 15:19-22
[19]If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
[20]But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
[21]For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
[22]For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Hallelujah! We are NOT of all men the most miserable. We have Jesus (the WORD), we have hope. He is alive dwelling in this earthen vessels (believers) Glory!

Chase, run after the knowledge of Christ.

Hosea 4:6
[6]My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

The strength we have is embedded in the Word. Securing the word is our weapon.

Ephesians 6:13-17
[13]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14]Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15]And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16]Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17]And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God which is also the power of God.

Romans 1:16
[16]For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Secure the Word
Faith comes by hearing the Word

Romans 10:17
[17]So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Chase the Word
Rightly divide the Word of truth.

Thanksgiving

It is a feature of the new-found Life in Christ.

Joy is the fruit of salvation.
It’s not borne from any excitement of temporary relief. Rather, it is in-built, within the recreated Human Spirit.

We must never be found complaining or grumbling.

Grumbling is a presence of doubt and anxiety.

Let’s check up with the references below.

Philippians 2: 14 Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves],
15 That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guiltless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world.

1 Corinthians 10: 10 Nor discontentedly complain as some of them did--and were put out of the way entirely by the destroyer (death). (Amplified Bible)

Philippians 4: 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Matthew 6: 27 And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life?

28 And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.

29 Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. [I Kings 10:4-7.]

30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?

32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.

33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

34 So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.

When the cares of life seem overwhelming, the scriptures teach to PRAY and GIVE THANKS!
We aren’t giving thanks for evil, rather prayer changes things and giving thanks affirms the integrity of God’s word in every situation.
We give thanks because God’s Word is true and this causes joy and rejoicing.

Here are some reasons to be thankful:

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God's holy people) in the Light.
13 [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14 In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins

2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

Grumbling after praying amounts to a waste of your time. As James teaches, let not such a man think he can receive ANYTHING from God (James 1: 5-7).
When we pray about circumstances, whether family, personal or for our nation, let us give thanks to God!

1 Timothy 2: 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and GIVING OF THANKS, be made for all men;

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

As we pray let’s be thankful for God’s word is working and prevailing over our lives, ministries, businesses, families and NATION!
We refuse to grumble and murmur. We give thanks because we PRAY! Blessed?

Have a Victorious & thankful weekend
Jesus is Lord.

THE WORD OF GOD

Hebrews 4:12
[12]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The word "quick" in the scripture means 'live'.
We can comfortably say, God's Word is living. It is active and continuous.
When the WORD meets any dead situation; it brings life back into such situations.

Paul wrote clearly;
Romans 8:11
[11]But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Jesus spake earlier:
John 6:63
[63]It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

This then mean, God's Spirit is His Word: you can't differentiate between God's Spirit and His Word. Selah!

Back to Romans; this Spirit [Word] makes alive.
Jesus emphasized this to Martha;
John 11:25
[25]Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

He personalize it here: JESUS is the life.
John 14:6
[6]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

We will not forget;
John 1:1-3
[1]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2]The same was in the beginning with God.
[3]All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

To be continued.
