THE TRUTH ABOUT SPEAKING IN TONGUES (cognitive teaching)
Holy Spirit, help us to really interprete this to the understanding of your children in Jesus name, Amen.
Speaking in tongues does more than just edifying. please we would be looking at 2 chapters of the book of 1Corinthians.
Because it is a letter, we would start from beginning so as not to read it out of context. 1Corinthians 1:1-31
You see apostle paul admonishing the church at Corinth and thanking God on behalf of them because THEY CAME BEHIND IN NO GIFT because they are enriched by him. And because of these gifts, there's contention among them. No one wants to be under the other because they felt they were anointed, gifted and therefore humility was far from them. If any is questioned why don't you listen to this leader, he was baptised by peter so let those baptised by peter listen and obey him as for me, I am baptised by paul. please make sure you're reading your bible with this write up to confirm. So the HOUSE OF CHLOE, brought it to the notice of Apostle Paul and he began his admonition, telling them only Christ died for them and they were sent to preach the gospel not by MAN'S WISDOM by in the POWER OF GOD, which is his WISDOM. God had to hide his wisdom in something that looks foolish so that men and the princes of this world(demons) won't understand it.
There you have the saying "he uses the foolish things to confuse the wise so that he that glorieth, glories in God.
CHAPTER 2
pay extreme attention now SO YOU DON'T MISS IT. Apostle paul continued his admonition by explaining that his preaching and his message was not with excellency of speech (oratory) or of man's wisdom but he was testifying of God to them. For he was determined not to know anything but to glorify Jesus in their midst.His preaching was in demonstration of the Spirit and Power which is the WISDOM OF GOD and not man's wisdom, so that their faith will be unshaken and firm. However THIS WISDOM is spoken among them that are PERFECT. And the bible's yardstick to measure perfectness is someone that does not offend in words JAMES 3:2 AMP
For we all stumble and sin in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says [never saying the wrong thing], he is a perfect man [fully developed in character, without serious flaws], able to bridle his whole body and rein in his entire nature [taming his human faults and weaknesses.
Remember the WISDOM is spoken by PERFECT christians and it's not the wisdom of this world not of it's princes that comes to nothing. But the WISDOM is spoken in a MYSTERY, it was hidden before but when HE the Holy Ghost came, he revealed it to us which God have reserved even before the world was formed to LIFT US INTO GLORY.....not just to edify
It was not recognized even up till now, some don't believe in it and some find it hard to understand that the scripture might be fulfilled that
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
But God has revealed them to us by his spirit, LISTEN
there's a dimension of speaking in tongues that has to do with MIND TRANSPORTATION, you're in need of something and you need to know the mind of God concerning that very thing.
Father,I come in the name of Jesus, I have a project at hand and don't know what to do, help me ohhhhhh Lord (you blast in tongues)
HEAR ME, you will never leave there without an answer and mind you answers must not be an audible voice. God can imprint it in your mind.
We speak the wisdom in a MYSTERY and he that SPEAKETH in an unknown tongue SPEAKETH not unto men but unto God 1 Corinthians 14:2
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
1 Corinthians 2:13
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
IS IT MAKING SENSE TO YOU NOW?
Now when you read till the end, you begin to see the whole picture clearly
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
