The Burning Bush
Exodus 3:1-2
‘One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God (vs.1). There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazament. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up (vs.2).’
The Jews were in bo***ge in the land of Egypt because a new Pharaoh who did not know Joseph acceded to the throne. In their distress, they cried unto the God of their fathers: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Then in answer to their impassioned plea for help, God appeared in the midst of their situation in the form of a fire. The appearance of God in a flame of fire is symbolic of what the Jews were going through. Their situation in Egypt at this time is comparable to a burning fire. Fire was burning in the bush but the bush was not consumed.
The children of God are the burning bush. The fire burning in bush represents the trials they experience. Surely, God’s people will face afflictions and trials in the hands of the enemies. There will surely be tough times for God’s people. If our journey with God were a bed of roses, God would not make the promise in the book of Isaiah. However, we have a consolation, which is that we shall not be consumed. God’s promise for us is still valid. God has promised:
‘.... When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you’ (Isaiah 43:2).
In Daniel 3:19-25, God allowed the three young Hebrews to be bound and hurled into the burning furnace made at the command of King Nebuchadnezzar. Someone might ask:
‘Where was God when they were being bound?’
Their enemies were throwing them into the fire one after another, and God was watching to see if they would compromise their stand. But they did not, and therefore, He intervened in the end much to the palpable chagrin of the wicked king and his cohorts. God ap

Sure Steps to Making Heaven
IHeaven and hell are as real as the earth. Anyone who misses heaven is an automatic candidate of hell.
Hell is a place of everlasting anguish, where all sinners- unbelievers, the abominable, murderers, the sexually immoral, the quarrelsome, the irritable, those who practise witchcraft, idol-worshippers, drunkards, liars and such like- are doomed to be punished and tormented for ever with an everlasting fire burning with the inflammable substance called sulphur. This is the second death (Revelations 21:8; Galatians 5:19-21).
Conversely, heaven is a beautiful place. It is a place of everlasting joy and peace because it is the abode of God, the Author of joy and peace, who dwells among His people. It is the kingdom of God. There, God will wipe away His people’s tears, and there shall be no more death, sorrow, pains or crying (Revelations 21:1-4).
Steps to Take to be a Beneficiary of Heaven
To make it to this beautiful place called heaven and enjoy the benefits of being there, there are certain unfailing steps you must to take.
First, you must acknowledge yourself as a sinner. Accept the fact that you were born a sinner and you need a Saviour because you cannot save yourself (Romans 3:23).
The next step is to confess your sins to God, sincerely repent of them and be truly converted. When you do this, your sins, no matter how bad they are, will be forgiven and completely blotted out. Know this that anyone who covers his sins cannot prosper but the one who confesses and forsakes his shall receive mercy (Proverbs 28: 13).
Another sure step to making it to God’s kingdom is to be born again. Unless a man is born again, he cannot SEE the kingdom of God let alone ENTER there (John 3:3&5). You must accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and begin to live a new life devoid of sins ( John 1:12-13; Matthew 1:21).
Call on the name of the Lord to save you (Acts 2:21). This is another great step you must take.

CHRIST'S DISCIPLES INDEED
John 8:31-32
[31]Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings.
[32]And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Everybody claims to be a disciple of Christ. Is this truly so?
The two verses above depict who a disciple of Christ is. A disciple of Christ is one who tenaciously follows in the footsteps of Christ by observing His teachings. A Christ's disciple also searches for and knows the truth. Hence he/she cannot be tossed about by the winds of false doctrines.
Are you free from the entanglement of sin? If so, then you are a disciple of Christ indeed. If not, why don't you make the best use of the grace that is available now by giving your life to Christ? This delay may be a disaster!

Prayers:
1. Father, Lord, release me from the grasp of sin that is grappling with me for my soul!
2. I come to the foot of Calvary, let the blood of Jesus wash me clean and set me free.
