TOPIC: LIVING UPRIGHT THROUGH LOVE.

SCRIPTURE: Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law... Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Romans 13:8 &10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You can never go wrong following the way of love.

The only debt any child of God is expected to owe is the debt of love. Romans 13 makes it clear that love is the fulfilment of the Law. He who loves has fulfilled the Law. This is because the person who truly loves will not hurt the people he loves, steal from them, lie to them, or covet what belongs to them.

Furthermore, Matthew 7:12 says, Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Love is not one commandment among many; it is the commandment that carries all the others inside it.
In our study today, we shall be looking at four critical reasons why love sits at the centre of upright living.

1. Love is the summary of the Scriptures.
Love is the summary of the Law and the prophets, which means it is also the summary of the Scriptures.
The book of God is the book of love because God is love (1 John 4:8).

1. Love is the core of upright living.
Love is the anchor of uprightness. Love is the foundation for righteousness. You can never go wrong following the way of love.

1. Love is the proof of true spirituality.
Love is the authentic confirmation of a quality relationship with God. Anyone who knows God knows love. 1 John 4:20 says, If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” It is not praying in tongues or fasting that confirms a person’s spirituality but the demonstration of love.

1. Love is what imparts value and profit to spiritual action.
Love is the guarantee of gain and reward in spiritual activity. If you are in bitterness while ushering, you are wasting your time. If you are in unforgiveness while counselling, you are wasting your time. Remember, 1 Corinthians 13:1–3 says, Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Beloved, love for God plus love for man equals godliness and righteousness.

On the other hand, lovelessness plus selfishness equals wickedness and sinfulness. There is so much wickedness in the world because there is so much lovelessness and selfishness.
Love, practically, means the release of goodwill towards others, treating others as you would want to be treated, defending their reputation, celebrating their progress, respecting their dignity, and giving of yourself to make life better for them.

REMEMBER THIS: You can never go wrong following the way of love.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Examine one area of your spiritual service and ask whether it is being offered in love or in bitterness, envy, or duty alone.
2. Practice treating someone today exactly the way you would want to be treated.
3. Ask God to help you rejoice, without reservation, in someone else's good news this week.

PRAYER: Father, teach me to walk in love, not as a feeling but as the fulfilling of Your law. Purge my heart of bitterness, envy, and selfishness. Let love be the anchor of my relationship with You and my interaction with men, Lord, in Jesus' Name.

🌱🌴SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

DATE: TUESDAY, 25TH. AUGUST, 2026.

TOPIC: THE DESTRUCTIVE POWER OF NEGATIVE CHARACTER.

SCRIPTURE: The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them...Proverbs 11:3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Positive character preserves, but negative character destroys.

Character has both constructive and destructive power, depending on the type. Positive character preserves while negative character destroys.

Examples abound in Scriptures of people who were destroyed by their negative character and of others who were preserved by their positive character (Proverbs 11:3). One negative example was Lot.

He lost his life and destiny on the platform of the negative character of strife, greed, and lack of value for higher authority. God called Abraham, but he brought Lot along. As Abraham prospered, Lot also prospered because he was connected to Abraham. Thus, the blessing upon Abraham overflowed into the life of Lot (Gen 13:5).

However, when wealth increased, strife began between the herdsmen of Abraham and the herdsmen of Lot (Gen 13:7-8). Instead of recognising the authority and covering of Abraham, Lot entered competition and contention with Abraham.

When Abraham offered him the opportunity to choose a portion of the land, Lot lifted his eyes and chose the well-watered plains of Jordan. Instead of Lot saying, “Excuse me, sir, you were the one who brought me out, tell me where to go.

That is, if I must leave you.” But Lot lifted his eyes and saw the area that was well watered and chose it. In other words, “I choose the wet ground, uncle, you can die in the dry land,” not knowing that where he chose was already marked for demolition.

S***m and Gomorrah were already under divine judgment (Gen 13:9-11). What appeared attractive physically was dangerous spiritually. Greed blinded his perception and pride affected his judgment. Eventually, destruction came upon S***m and Gomorrah, and Lot lost everything he had laboured for.

This shows that when you leave your cover, your cover leaves you. All the investments, possessions, and achievements he had previously gathered in that city were consumed overnight. He escaped only with his life. The same greed that led him into S***m could not preserve what he acquired there.

There are lessons to learn from the life of Lot: avoid strife, contention, unhealthy competition, greed and disrespect for the authority that helped you. Do not bite the finger that fed you. Do not remove the ladder that helped you climb. Do not bang the door you once gently passed through.

Beloved, if you desire preservation in life and destiny, maintain positive character. Walk in humility, gratitude, loyalty, honour, and respect for authority.

REMEMBER THIS: Positive character preserves, but negative character destroys.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Refuse strife, contention, and unhealthy competition.
2. Avoid greed and every form of selfish ambition.
3. Honour and respect the authorities and people God has used to help your life.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for the light of Your Word. Deliver me from every negative character trait and help me to walk in integrity, humility, and honour, so my life and destiny can be preserved, Lord, in Jesus' Name.

TOPIC: PRAYING WITH THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF GOD’S ALMIGHTINESS

SCRIPTURE: Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: Jeremiah 32:17.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Effective prayer is built on the revelation that nothing is too hard for God.

The knowledge of the Almightiness of God is a major basis for the effectiveness or potency of our prayer. Our prayer is enhanced or boosted by our knowledge of the Almightiness and Omnipotence of God. We pray with confidence because we know that God can do all things. He is never bankrupt of power or might.

The Almightiness of God means we are not serving a weak God. We are not serving a God who is helpless, beggarly, or apologetic to get things done. We serve the Almighty God, the God of all possibilities.

No wonder, Jeremiah 32:17 says, Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

Furthermore, in Jeremiah 32:27, God Himself declares, Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? The answer is a capital, “NO.” Nothing is too hard for God.

The omnipotence of God is the foundation of our confidence in prayer. When you know the capacity of the God you are praying to, fear and doubt automatically disappear.

As a child of God, while growing up in the faith, I was always fascinated by the Power of God. The reality that God can do anything pulled me strongly to Him. The fact that there is no impossibility with God continues to strengthen faith, giving me confidence in prayer.

Jesus said in Mark 10:27, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. That means there is no situation that is beyond the scope of God’s Power to handle. There is no challenge too difficult for God. No bo***ge is too strong for Him. No sickness is beyond His healing power. No circumstance can exhaust His ability. Our prayer life becomes dynamic when we understand that we are dealing with the Almighty God, the God of all possibilities.

Beloved, when you truly know the greatness of God’s Power, impossibilities lose their strength before you. The God you serve is Almighty, and there is absolutely nothing too hard for Him.

REMEMBER THIS: Effective prayer is built on the revelation that nothing is too hard for God.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Refuse to magnify your challenges above the Power of God.
2. Build your confidence in prayer by meditating on the omnipotence and Almightiness of God.
3. Approach every situation with the understanding that God can do all things.

TOPIC: HE DID IT BEFORE; HE CAN DO IT AGAIN

SCRIPTURE: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What God has done before, He can do again.

We serve a God who has a track record of answering prayers. That is why a major basis of our prayer is the record of what God has done before. His previous acts or manifestations are pointers to His present and future acts and manifestations. We pray with confidence because God has continued to prove Himself throughout all generations.

Hebrews 13:8 confirms that God does not change. What He did before, He is still able to do today. We know what He will do today because we saw what He did yesterday. We know what He will do tomorrow because we are seeing what He is doing today. What He did in another person’s life is a revelation of what is possible in our own lives.

In Exodus 3:14, God introduced Himself to Moses as “I AM THAT I AM.” In other words, whatever you have known Him to be before is what He still is. If He healed yesterday, He still heals today. If He delivered before, He still delivers now. If He changed stories in the past, He still changes stories in the present. If He scattered the works of darkness in ancient times, He still scatters the works of darkness in contemporary times. He is still the same God today, tomorrow and forever!

Malachi 3:6 corroborates His unchanging nature: For I am the Lord, I change not... God is consistent in nature, power, mercy, and faithfulness.

In Luke 1:36-37, the Angel told Mary about Elizabeth’s miraculous conception, declaring: For with God nothing shall be impossible. Thus, the testimony of Elizabeth became a prophecy for Mary. In essence, the Angel appeared to be saying, “If God did it for Elizabeth, yours is also possible.”

Beloved, when you see God move in another person’s life, do not become envious; become inspired. Testimonies are revelations of possibilities.

Genesis 21:1-2 reveals to us God’s faithfulness to Sarah: And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. God has a track record of saying it and doing it.

That is why testimonies should never be despised. Revelation 19:10 says, For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Every genuine testimony is a prophecy announcing what God is still able to do.

Beloved, the God who did it before can do it again. Testimonies are not stories meant for entertainment; they are prophetic proofs that God is still at work.

REMEMBER THIS: What God has done before, He can do again.

1. Study the testimonies and miracles in Scripture to strengthen your faith.
2. Refuse to envy those God has helped; let their testimonies inspire you.

TOPIC: KNOW WHO YOU ARE

SCRIPTURE: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
John 1:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The revelation of who you are and whose you are is a major key to walking in dominion.

God created us for a life of dominion on the earth. Man was created with a dominion mandate (Genesis 1:28).

And one of the ways of maximizing dominion is the awareness of who you are and whose you are. As a child of God, you are designed for supernatural manifestation. The scripture says, As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God. Everyone who is truly and genuinely born again, cannot lack power, the Power of God (John 1:12; Romans 8:19).

To walk in dominion, your salvation experience must be genuine and authentic. You must not have a leg in and a leg out of church. As many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God. They cannot lack power, dominion, or authority because they have become children of the Most High God (1 John 3:1-2).

Scripture says, the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19). Elisha understood this reality. When the king sent horses, chariots and a great host to arrest him, his own servant was afraid. Why? Because he only saw what was against them. But Elisha said, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. (2 Kings 6:16) Then Elisha prayed, Lord, open his eyes that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw that the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. Elisha was too aware of what was around him. He knew who he was, whose he was, and what was working for him (2 Kings 6:15-17).

Scripture makes it clear that, if you want to walk in dominion, you must be fully aware of who you are and whose you are. Don’t forget that you don’t belong to yourself; you belong to God. Every genuine child of God is a partaker of the Divine Nature of his Creator.

Acts 1:8 says, Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you… To take charge, you must be fully charged. Be filled with the Holy Ghost. The power of the Holy Ghost causes us to take charge. Be continually charged with the Spirit.

To take charge, you must remain charged. Jesus says, Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you… A believer who remains continually charged with the Holy Ghost cannot remain powerless. Through fellowship with God, prayer, study of the Word, and the Spirit, the believer is empowered to live in dominion.

Beloved, God wants you to know who you are, whose you are, and what is working for you. When that revelation becomes real to you, fear will disappear, confidence will rise, and dominion will become your lifestyle.

REMEMBER THIS: The revelation of who you are and whose you are is a major key to walking in dominion.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Study the Scriptures so that your identity in Christ can be revealed to you.
2. Engage actively in soul-winning and Kingdom advancement.

TOPIC: AVOID BORROWING AND INDEBTEDNESS

SCRIPTURE: For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow... DEUTERONOMY 15:6.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The borrower is servant to the lender and borrowing empties tomorrow into today.
God’s perfect will for His children is a life of abundance, not of scarcity, borrowing and indebtedness.

Scripture makes it clear that the borrower is a servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). Romans 13:8 also says, Owe no man any thing, but to love one another. The only debt we are permitted to owe perpetually is the debt of love.

Borrowing is the act of obtaining money you do not have from a lender with the promise of repayment at a later date. In simple terms, it is spending money that is not yet yours.
Many people justify borrowing when there is a collateral attached or because there are agreed terms of repayment. While there are situations where repayment structures may technically appear acceptable, it is still better to avoid borrowing altogether.

What then are the consequences of borrowing and indebtedness?
i. Borrowing is an anti-covenant operation.
In our anchor Scripture, God expressly says, Thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow. Indebtedness works against the covenant of supernatural supply and abundance.
ii. Borrowing is proof of impatience.
Many people are unwilling to grow gradually or wait for God’s timing. They want to “blow” instantly, and borrowing becomes their easiest shortcut.
iii. Borrowing empties tomorrow into today.
Through borrowing, the money meant for tomorrow has already been spent today. This is why some salary earners remain stranded from month to month.
iv. Borrowing establishes the borrower in servitude.
The borrower becomes a servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). A person may appear wealthy yet remain under financial bo***ge.
v. Borrowing adds pressure and burden to life.
The pressure of debt repayment, harassment, threats, and fear can rob a person of peace and joy.
vi. Borrowing reflects a lack of financial discipline.
Many people borrow to maintain lifestyles beyond their reality, either to impress people or to sustain unnecessary appearances.
vii. Borrowing strips life of honour and dignity.
Many people endure insults, harassment, embarrassment, and humiliation because of debts.

Beloved, God desires for His people to live in wisdom, discipline, contentment, and financial freedom. Determine to trust God for supply and avoid borrowing and indebtedness.

REMEMBER THIS: The borrower is servant to the lender and borrowing empties tomorrow into today.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to avoid borrowing and indebtedness.
2. Cultivate financial discipline and live within your means.
3. Trust God as your Source and depend on Him to supply your needs.

PRAYER: Father, deliver me from every form of financial bo***ge and indebtedness. Give me the wisdom, discipline, and grace to live within my means and trust in Your supernatural supply, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: THREATS TO GODLY CHARACTER

SCRIPTURE: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Proverbs 13:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You are not careful about your destiny until you are careful about your company.

Character can be corrected by good company and corrupted by bad company. Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Furthermore, Psalm 1:1 says, Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. The man described here is careful about his company. He does not sit in the seat of the scornful. He is not following the counsel of the ungodly. He is not standing in the way of sinners. Rather, his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in God’s law, he meditates day and night.

In our study today, we shall be looking at some threats to godly character

1. Wrong association (Proverbs 13:20).

The effect of company cannot be overemphasised. There are people who can poison your heart against someone who never offended you. Some people can talk you out of your service to God or even totally out of church, tithing, giving, submission to authority, and belief in God. Many people today are in error because of the wrong company they keep.

Anyone who is trying to corrupt your principles is not good enough for your life and destiny. When you hear people communicating values that weaken your convictions and corrupt your conscience, separate yourself from them. Many youths today are addicted to smoking, drugs, immorality, and rebellion because of bad company.

2. Comparison with others (2 Corinthians 10:12).

When you compare yourself with others, you are likely to depart from the truth.

Joseph refused to compare himself with his brethren. He brought their evil report to his father because he would not follow their evil ways. David also refused to compare himself with his brothers. While others were at home, David remained faithful in the bush, tending his father’s flock.

It is better to stand alone for good than to join the multitude to do evil. There are people who will tell you that you are too serious with God, too committed in church, too devoted in prayer, and too disciplined in your walk with God. Do not listen to such voices. When we stand before God, we shall give the account of our lives individually, not the lives of others.

3. Lack of the fear of God. Job 1:1 says that Job feared God and eschewed evil.

The fear of God is the bedrock of godly character. Anyone who genuinely reveres God will avoid evil. Many atrocities in our society today happen because the fear of God is lacking. People oppress others, deny people their rights, and deliberately frustrate others because they do not fear God.

Beloved, if we avoid wrong association, comparison with others, lack of love, and lack of the fear of God, we shall walk in integrity and maintain the life of character.

REMEMBER THIS: You are not careful about your destiny until you are careful about your company.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Examine your associations and disconnect from every relationship that corrupts godly character.
2. Refuse to compare yourself with others; follow God’s purpose for your life faithfully.
3. Ask God to fill your heart with genuine love for Him as well as the fear of the Lord.

PRAYER: Father, deliver me from every influence that corrupts godly character. Fill my heart with Your love and establish me in the fear of the Lord, that I may live a life that pleases You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
