TOPIC: THE POWER AND PURPOSE OF THANKSGIVING

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Thanksgiving shows that we recognize His hand and have not trivialized His goodness.

SCRIPTURE: Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Psalm 103:1-2

Thanksgiving is an essential part of our relationship with God. Every believer is expected to understand the purpose and power of thanksgiving in our walk with God. Thanksgiving is not a ritual; it is a spiritual engagement loaded with purpose and power.

Thanksgiving is one of the most critical virtues of ‌Christian life. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. This means there is something to thank God for in every situation. In every circumstance of life, God always does something worth acknowledging.

The Purpose of Thanksgiving

1. To show that we see and acknowledge what God is doing.
If you cannot see what God has done, you are not qualified to see what He will do. Thanksgiving proves that you are not blind to His works in your life.

2. To show that we are not taking God for granted.
In the midst of all things, thanksgiving shows that we recognize His Hand and have not trivialized His goodness. It shows that we have not taken Him for granted.

3. To show that we are not forgetting what God is doing.
One of the easiest things for people to do in this world is to forget. Thanksgiving shows that we remember and acknowledge what God is doing. You may have helped some people in the past and today, they cannot remember what you did for them. In fact, some of them even behave as though they have never met you.

4. To show that our strength, intellect, wisdom, ability, and resources are not responsible for our results.
That is, “Lord, I cannot attribute any good thing in my life to my strength, power or ability; it has always been You, Lord. You are the one who is doing every good thing through me, and I acknowledge You as the Source – Hosea 4:6.

5. To confirm our total dependence on the help and mercy of God.
You are simply telling God that your sole existence is at His mercy. You are acknowledging your helplessness without Him.

6. To give ‌glory to the only One to whom all glory belongs.
Thanksgiving is simply returning all Glory back to God as the doer of all good things. God does not share His Glory with mortal man – Isaiah 42:8.

7. To confirm our faith in God’s continuous intervention in the affairs of our lives.
When you thank God liberally and profusely, you are telling God that you believe He will keep doing more.

Now, what is the power of thanksgiving?

1. Thanksgiving confirms the continuous defeat and failure of the enemy.

When you thank God, you are saying to the enemy: “You are defeated and shall remain defeated.” Thanksgiving is a spiritual weapon of warfare just like testimony – Revelation 12:11. Thanksgiving is a testimony that is specifically addressed to God.

2. Thanksgiving irrigates faith for continuous divine intervention and manifestation.

When you talk about what God has done, you water your faith for more of His interventions and manifestation. No wonder, David said, The God who delivered me from the lion and the bear will deliver me from this Philistine – 1 Samuel 17:34–37. Thanksgiving charges your faith.

3. Thanksgiving activates the next phase of divine intervention.

When you give thanks for your current phase, you activate your next phase. For example, the only one l***r who returned to give thanks. Jesus moved him to the next phase: Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. Luke 17:11–17.

Thanksgiving qualifies you for tomorrow’s miracle.

REMEMBER THIS: Thanksgiving shows that we recognize His hand and have not trivialized His goodness.

PRAYER:
O’ Lord, thank You for all You have done in my life. I acknowledge that it is not by my strength, wisdom, or ability. You alone are my Source, my Helper, and my Sustainer, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: THE RELEASE OF POWER

SCRIPTURE: And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. Luke 4:32

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith is the trigger and switch for the release of power. God releases His power when man begins to walk in faith.

The release of the Power of God is the manifestation of divine ability in response to faith, obedience, and spiritual alignment by man. God’s Power is not distant or reserved; it is available, active, and ready to flow through those who position themselves rightly. When Power is released, limitations are broken, lives are transformed, and impossible situations give way to supernatural interventions. Understanding how to access and walk in this power is key to living a victorious and impactful life.

Understanding what it takes to release or unleash the power of God from within us is important.

Now, what does it take to unleash the power of God to handle the diverse situations of life? How do we release the Power of God?

1. Through the Word
The word of God spoken from the lips of the child of God is a channel of supernatural Power – Luke 4: 32,36.

For the situation in the Valley of Dry Bones to change, Ezekiel had to prophesy as commanded and as he prophesied, the situation changed and an exceeding great army was birthed – Ezekiel 37:7-10.

Beloved, do you want your word to carry power? Then speak the Word of the King, for where the Word of the King is, there is power! – Ecclesiastes 8: 4.

Elijah knew his connection with God and His Word, and he stood before King Ahab and issued a decree and power went into operation – 1Kings 17: 1.

2. Through the Altar of Prayer
Power is released through the altar of prayer. The power to open and close the heavens flowed at will from the altar of prayer – James 5: 17.

Jacob also released power at the place of prayer – Genesis 32:28.

Jabez’s situation was so bad that his name was a reflection of his life. But he went to God in prayers and everything changed: his life took a new turn – 1 Chronicles 4: 10.

3. Through Faith Action
Faith is the trigger and switch for the release of power. God releases His power when man begins to walk in faith.

The woman with the issue of blood said to herself in Mark 5:28: If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

4. Through Praise Action
The power of God is released through the action of praise. The wall of Jericho collapsed at the shout. When the children of Israel went to a war with nations stronger than them, they received instructions to praise rather than lifting weapons of war to fight. And as they sang praise, God stepped in and the enemies were defeated – Joshua 6: 20; 2Chronicles 20: 22.

Beloved, engage these necessary tools for the release of God’s Power for effortless victory and success in every realm of your life.

Remember This: Faith is the trigger and switch for the release of power. God releases His power when man begins to walk in faith.

TOPIC: THE INEVITABILITY ( NECESSITY) OF FAITH

SCRIPTURE: Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:4

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No one can be saved without faith, and no one can stay saved without faith.

Faith is not a church doctrine. It is not a tool or weapon with which we get things from God. Faith is a vital necessity in the life of the child of God.

Faith is not an optional virtue in the life of the believer; it is an absolute necessity.

In every aspect of our walk with God and our journey through life, faith remains the foundation upon which everything stands. It is impossible to relate with God, receive from Him, or fulfill Divine purpose without faith.

The realities of life continually present situations that demand trust beyond human ability, making faith inevitable. Whether in times of uncertainty, challenges, or even opportunities, faith is the channel through which we access Divine help and direction. Thus, faith is not just important; it is indispensable for anyone who desires to live a victorious and meaningful life.

We are going to look at fig things that make faith inevitable, vital and critical.

We are going to look at five things that make faith inevitable, vital and critical.

1. Faith is a determinant of life and existence
Our lives and existence on earth are dependent on our faith. Faith is a determinant of life and existence because the just shall live by faith.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 1:17.

To allow your faith to shake is to allow your life to be at risk. There are life and death situations that only faith can bring a man out of. Faith is as needed for life as oxygen. So, to. take your fall for granted is to take your life for granted.

2. We are saved by faith and remain saved by faith No one can be saved without faith and nobody can stay saved without faith.

Ephesians 2:8 says, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
No one can be saved without believing in God and in the finished work of Christ at Calvary. But beyond that, you can't stay saved if you do not believe that God is real and that His Word is true (Hebrews 11:6).

We have seen many people backslide when they begin to feel that God is not real. It takes faith to be saved, and it takes faith to stay saved.

It takes faith in God not to follow your friends to the native doctor. It takes faith in God not to look for alternatives to God. That is why faith is important.

3. Faith is necessary for victory in the conflicts of life.
Life is filled with battles and conflicts.

Ephesians 6:10-12 confirms it: Finally my brethren be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

On a continual basis, there are battles here and there - battles in the office, battles from envy, battles from jealousy, battles from bitterness, battles from witches and wizards, etc.

But our victory is anchored on the fact that Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4

4. Faith is necessary for our health and wholeness
Faith is also necessary for our health and wholeness.

No wonder, Jesus Christ told the woman with the issue of blood in Matthew 9:22, Daughter be of good comfort, thy faith hath made thee whole.

Faith makes you healed and faith maintains your healing. Sometimes symptoms may come as confrontations of faith, but faith pushes them back.

It takes faith to be healed, and it takes faith to remain healed.

5. Faith is necessary for accessing God's promises and inheritance
Without faith, Christianity can appear like mockery.
But through faith and patience the promises of God are appropriated. Faith is necessary for accessing the promises and inheritance of God.

Hebrews 6:12 says, That ye be not slothful but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Similarly, Hebrews 11:8 tells us that by faith Abraham obeyed God and he received an inheritance.

Beloved, always maintain a buoyant faith in your journey through life and in your walk with God.

REMEMBER THIS: No one can be saved without faith, and no one can stay saved without faith.

1. Build your faith daily by enriching your spirit with the knowledge of God through His Word.
2. Do not allow circumstances, battles, or symptoms shake your confidence in God.

TOPIC: THE PROFIT OF GODLY CHARACTER

SCRIPTURE: Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Psalm 24:3–5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: People lose their destiny when their character is out of place.

Every ambassador representing his or her country models the ideals and values of their country; they shy away from activities that would put their country in a bad light. We are heaven’s representatives on earth, and we must be seen to be representing heaven accordingly. Our letter of credence as ambassadors of Christ is inked with the Blood of Jesus. The beauty of our ambassadorial duties is expressed in godly character (2Corinthians 5:20).

In Psalm 24:3-5, the Scripture asks a very important question: Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place? The answer is clear: He that has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

When we talk about godly character, many people think the only objective is to escape hell and make heaven. Yes, that is the ultimate objective, but there are many things that walking in godly character will do for you in this world long before your appearance in eternity.

Now, what are the benefits or profits of walking in godly character?

1. Divine Presence

The one who walks in godly character or uprightness is an effortless carrier of Divine Presence – Psalm 24:3–5. Godly character positions the saint in the Presence of God. When you come around them, you feel God.

2. The Blessing of the Lord

Another benefit or profit of godly character is the Blessing of the Lord. The way of uprightness is the way of blessedness – Psalm 1:1–3.

Job was an upright man who feared God, and he became the richest man in his days – Job 1:1.

Psalm 1:1-3 says, Blessed is the man who walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

God is not in short supply of blessings; He is only lacking faithful people. And it is the faithful man that will abound with blessings (Proverbs 28:20).

3. The Favour of the Lord

A person of character attracts favour. A person without character will lose favour – Proverbs 16:7.

The profit of godly character includes the favor of the Lord. Esther had favour with God and favor with man as she displayed the godly character of contentment –Esther 2:15.

Beloved, make it easy for God to promote you. God is looking for whom to lift, but many people have made it difficult for God because of their crookedness.

4. Spiritual Authority and Boldness

Another benefit or profit of godly character is spiritual authority and boldness.

One of the ways to secure the audacity of faith is the maintenance of uprightness in life. Uprightness sustains boldness and authority in the spirit – Proverbs 28:1.

Jesus could boldly say in John 14:30, “The prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” because His godly character was unparalleled.

People lose their destiny when their character is out of place.

Joseph refused to compromise and eventually fulfilled the vision he saw as a boy. Daniel fulfilled destiny because he refused to defile himself (Daniel 1:8).

Beloved, your destiny is anchored on your character. Your character defines your destiny. Be a person of quality character.

Remember This: People lose their destiny when their character is out of place.

ASSIGNMENT(S)

1. Endeavour to walk in the love of God – love for God and love for man.
2. Endeavour to walk in the fear of the Lord with a conscience that is alive and void of offense.

TUESDAY, 26TH MAY 2026

TOPIC: AVOID BITTERNESS

SCRIPTURE: Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. James 3:11-12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No one can harbour bitterness and accommodate loveliness at the same time.

Our anchor Scripture makes us understand that it is impossible to be bitter and lovely at the same time. No one can harbour bitterness and accommodate loveliness at the same time. It is not possible to be a bitter personality and a sweet personality at the same time; the bitterness will corrupt the sweetness.

There is a transfer of aggression that happens when a man shouts at his wife until the wife becomes so agitated and transfers the aggression to the children. She is getting some terrible pressure from her husband and is finally trying to find time to calm her head. If her children call on her at that time, the aggression will flow in their direction.

That is why James asks the question in our anchor Scripture: “Does a fountain send forth sweet and bitter water at the same place?” Thus, the plague of bitterness not only affects the flow of your love towards the person you are bitter against; it also affects the flow of your love towards others.

Bitterness and unforgiveness will facilitate and enhance loveless living.

For example, a young lady was disappointed and jilted by a brutal, heartless man who ate her food and borrowed money from her. She knew how to love in excess until she was injured emotionally by the heartless man who abandoned her and went to another girl. Now, she becomes ‌very bitter against the man, but that is not the problem. She also transferred that bitterness to another genuine man who had a clear and better intention for her. The bitterness corrupted her sweetness. This person, who used to be an exciting ‌and charming young lady, is now very tense, agitated, and aggressive.

Do you remember what David told Solomon? He said, “You see this Joab; don’t let his grey hair go to the grave in peace because he shed the blood of war in the time of peace.” (1 Kings 2:5-6 paraphrased) That was what bitterness caused Joab. The war had ended, and people died on both sides, but he was still holding the issues of the war against someone. No! It ought not to be so.

Beloved, if you love your neighbour, you won’t push them from their positions, so you can take them. The challenge facing the world today is the bankruptcy of love.

REMEMBER THIS: No one can harbour bitterness and accommodate loveliness at the same time.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind never to harbour hate and bitterness towards people.

2. Anything that makes you bitter towards people is not in the interest of your life and destiny; avoid it!

PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your Word to me today. Deliver me from every spirit of bitterness. Baptise me with the Spirit of love, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: SECRETS OF FINANCIAL MULTIPLICATION

SCRIPTURE: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you have experienced an increase before, you are not permitted to be a victim of famine.

We are living in a time where financial hardship is multiplying, and governments all over the world are running out of ideas on what to do. But there is good news: at the foundation of the world, God gave an express instruction for multiplication. Multiplication is commanded in all realms right from the very beginning – Genesis 1:28

Existence in the realm of increase is the perfect plan of God for His people. It is not the will of God for anyone to move from increase to decrease. If you have experienced an increase before, you are not permitted to be a victim of famine – Proverbs 4:18

Now, what are the steps to take to experience multiplication?

1. Possess Vision.
The extent of your vision determines the extent of your provision. Possess vision and let your vision be beyond survival. Think in terms of generations. Think in terms of how you can wipe out unemployment and create job opportunities for people – Proverbs 23:7; Proverbs 21:5.

When you don’t have a vision for your life, you run other people’s race.

2. Avoid Borrowing.
The mentality of borrowing is the mentality of scarcity. And you know, mentality determines reality.

Borrowing establishes financial servitude. Borrowing is an anti-covenant operation – Deuteronomy 15:6.

Borrowing empties tomorrow into today, thereby destroying the future. Borrowing destroys the joy of harvest and attracts shame and reproach – Proverbs 22:7; Romans 13:8.

3. Avoid Waste.
Wasteful spending is the way of poverty and shame. Luke 15:13-14 speaks of the prodigal son who wasted his substance with riotous living and began to be in want.

Proverbs 18:9 equates laziness with wastefulness: He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

Where there is waste money is in haste. Poverty is the destiny of wasters.

4. Maintain a Storehouse.
The storehouse is the reserve. Joseph practiced this principle in Egypt by storing excess food during the years of plenty for the years of famine – Genesis 41:34; Deuteronomy 28:8.

Maintaining a reserve is a faith principle. It is also a wisdom principle and a magnet of resources – Proverbs 21:20.

5. Focus on Investment Not Expenditure.
The parable of the talents where the servants who multiplied their talents were given more shows that investment is usually rewarded with increase – Matthew 25:14-30

The child of God who has an investment mentality will have more results than the one who has a maintenance mentality. God advocates investment. God hates wastage. God blesses investment.

Beloved, multiplication is the order of God, and the perfect plan of God for His people is existence in the realm of increase.

Remember This: If you have experienced an increase before, you are not permitted to be the victim of famine.

ASSIGNMENT(S)

1. Possess a vision for increase and refuse to have a mentality of scarcity.

2. Avoid borrowing and waste; maintain a storehouse and focus on investment while functioning under an open heaven.

TOPIC: SCRIPTURAL PROVISIONS FOR LIBERTY

SCRIPTURE: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:32

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Spirit of God is the Spirit of liberty. Flowing in the Spirit is flowing in the fountain of liberty

Knowledge is a powerful tool that sets people apart. Not knowing what is rightfully yours reduces you to a victim of satanic manipulation. You willingly become a prisoner to the devil and his agents.

The prodigal son knew what belonged to him even though he lacked managerial skills. Knowing the provisions God has made for you in Christ and appropriating them rightly and timely makes you a commander of the supernatural.

There are provisions in Scripture that establish liberty and deliverance for the people of God. These provisions show that freedom is not accidental; it is guaranteed in the Word of God – John 8:32, John 8:36.

Now, let us look at a few provisions that are ours from the scripture.

1. The promises of scripture forbid inherited liabilities and negativity.

The meaning is that we have promises in Scripture that we are not permitted to suffer what our fathers suffered. We are not permitted to carry the burdens our ancestors carried.

That is why Jeremiah 31:29–30 says, In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

This was repeated verbatim in Ezekiel 18:20: The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son.

2. The sacrifice of Calvary forbids inherited liabilities and ancestral Curses.

Whatever puts your life under pressure was taken away and handled by Calvary.

Galatians 3:13-14 confirms it: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us… That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ.

3. The Blood of Jesus was a ransom paid for every evil transaction.

The Blood of Jesus paid the ransom for every inherited evil transaction.

Hear what Zechariah 9:11 says: By the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

We have deliverance by the Blood of Jesus.

1 Peter 1:18–19 makes it clear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold… But with the precious blood of Christ.

4. The indwelling Spirit of God is the Spirit of liberty

The Spirit of God is the Spirit of liberty. Flowing in the Spirit is flowing in the fountain of liberty.

2 Corinthians 3:17 puts it succinctly: Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The spirit of God is the spirit of power (2 Timothy 1:7) and power gives us the capacity to receive freedom. Luke 10:19

Every time you pray in tongues, be conscious of the fact that you are releasing the forces of freedom, liberty and deliverance.

The indwelling Spirit of God is the Spirit of liberty. So, flowing in the spirit is flowing in the fountain of liberty.

Beloved, the Word of God clearly establishes that liberty is the will of God for His people. These provisions ensure that captivity is not the destiny of the child of God. Our liberty is already secured by Scriptural provisions. When these provisions are prayerfully and responsibly engaged, the believer walks in freedom.

Remember This: The Spirit of God is the Spirit of liberty. Flowing in the Spirit is flowing in the fountain of liberty.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

1. Stand on the promises of God in Scripture and refuse every inherited liability and ancestral negativity.

2. Engage the provisions of God in Scripture for our liberty – the Word, the name of Jesus, fasting, praise, the anointing, and prophetic covering.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your provisions for my liberty in Your Word. I stand on the promises of Scripture, the sacrifice of Calvary, and the power of the Blood of Jesus. Every yoke is destroyed, every burden is lifted, and every cage is broken. I receive liberty and deliverance, Lord, in the Name of Jesus.
