NIGERIA ASSOCIATION OF MUSLIM LAW STUDENTS, USMANU DANFODIYO UNIVERSITY SOKOTO, (NAMLAS_UDUS)
In a remarkable display of intellectual curiosity and professional enthusiasm, a dynamic group of law students from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) accepted the esteemed invitation extended by the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Birnin-Kebbi Branch, Equity Chamber. The occasion was a highly anticipated one-day training program themed "You and Your Practice," designed to illuminate the path for aspiring legal professionals.
The program featured two enlightening technical sessions that sparked engaging discussions and debates. The first session, "Rules of Professional Conduct (RPC) 2023 and Shariah Law: Navigating Through Legal, Ethical, and Operational Challenges," provided invaluable insights into the intricacies of legal practice. The second session, "Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing in Nigeria: Practical Guides Towards Avoiding Pitfalls in Legal Practice," offered practical advice on navigating the complex landscape of modern legal practice.
The attendees unanimously praised the program, describing it as a groundbreaking and enriching experience that exceeded their expectations. The guest speakers, renowned for their expertise and eloquence, delivered assertive and informative lectures that left a lasting impression on the audience. The distinguished speakers included Prof. M.L. Ahmadu, Vice Chancellor of Rayhan University; Prof. Ibrahim Abdullahi SAN; Dr. J.B. Marshall, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Kebbi State; Justice Maryam Kawoje, High Court Judge; and Justice Abubakar Adamu of Sokoto High Court, who is also a patron of NAMLAS_UDUS.
The NAMLAS_UDUS contingent was led by its AMEER, Nura Sani Bena, along with Hussain Yahya Bawa: Alkali of LAWSAN JUDICIARY UDUS, Muhammad Nasir Junju: KELSA P.R.O and Sadiq Tafarki. The event also drew esteemed alumni from the Faculty of Law, including former LAWSAN President, Diyaul-Haq Hamza, Abubakar Nababa, and other distinguished graduates.
As we reflect on the success of this program, we pray that the knowledge gained will benefit the entire Muslim Ummah and inspire future generations of legal professionals. We eagerly anticipate more programs that foster intellectual growth, professional development, and community engagement.
