*Resist the Devil*
Sin will never knock at your door wearing the label sin. It comes disguised—through the internet, the workplace, conversations, thoughts, images, music, and seemingly harmless choices. Sin is not scarce; it is everywhere. The real question is not where sin is, but how a believer overcomes it.
Scripture does not promise us an isolated place where temptation cannot reach us. What it gives us is a clear instruction:*“Watch and pray.”* Vigilance and prayer are the believer’s daily defense. Anyone who assumes they are beyond temptation is already deceiving themselves. Spiritual arrogance is a trap.
The Bible says, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12b). This fear is not terror—it is reverence. It is the kind of fear that refuses compromise, resists evil, and refuses to cooperate with sin in any form. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10), and wisdom is what keeps a man standing.
Being born again does not make sin disappear. In fact, that is often when temptation intensifies. The enemy targets those who are serious about God. That is the reality. Therefore, remaining a child of God requires intentionality. Holiness does not happen by accident.
As you journey through 2026, be deliberate:
Guard what you watch and listen to
Filter the thoughts you entertain
Be careful of the places you go
Be honest about the company you keep
Growth in Christ demands daily surrender. Perfection is not achieved by human strength but pursued through continual dependence on Christ.
Prayer:
I pray that today you will live to please God in thought, word, and action. May you receive grace to resist the devil and stand firm in righteousness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
