After departing Mount Arafat, pilgrims are now spending the night at Muzdalifah in continuation of the 2026 Hajj rites.

Pilgrims were seen resting in the open field while others continued with various acts of worship, reflecting on the significance of the sacred journey. During their stay, pilgrims are also gathering pebbles to be used for the symbolic stoning ritual at Mina.

Despite the large crowds, the pilgrims remain orderly and focused on their spiritual obligations, expressing gratitude to Allah for the opportunity to successfully complete the Arafat rite and proceed to the next stage of Hajj.

SOKOTO PILGRIMS IN ARAFAT OFFER SPECIAL PRAYERS FOR PEACE, PROGRESS

Sokoto State pilgrims currently performing the 2026 Hajj in Arafat have offered special prayers for sustained peace, unity and progress in Sokoto State and Nigeria at large.

The prayer session was conducted by various Islamic scholars from Sokoto State as part of spiritual activities at the holy land.

During the prayers, the scholars passionately prayed for the sustenance of peace, stability and continuous development in Sokoto State. They also offered prayers for the success of the administration of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, including divine guidance and support for his second term bid.

The special prayer session was attended by members of the Sokoto State 2026 Hajj Government Delegation led by the Amirul Hajj and Honourable Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi.

Other dignitaries present at the occasion included the Jarman Sokoto, Alhaji Umarun Kwabo AA; Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa; Permanent Secretary of the Agency, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar JJ; management staff of the agency, as well as Alhaji Murtala Dan’Iya among others.

SOKOTO STATE GOVERNMENT HAJJ DELEGATION ARRIVES PILGRIMS’ TENTS AT MINNA

Members of the Sokoto State Government Hajj Delegation led by the Amirul Hajj and Honourable Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, alongside the Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, and the agency’s management team, have arrived at the Sokoto pilgrims’ tents in Minna.

The delegation was received by officials and committee members overseeing the welfare and accommodation arrangements of the state pilgrims at the holy site.

Chairman Monitors Pilgrims Movement to Minna for Commencement of Hajj

The Chairman of Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, today monitored the movement of Sokoto State pilgrims to Minna for the commencement of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Chairman inspected the transportation arrangements and coordinated the smooth movement of pilgrims to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the journey.

Ahead of the movement to Minna for the 2026 Hajj rites, the Sokoto State Government Hajj Delegation led by the Amirul Hajj and Honourable Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, visited pilgrims’ accommodations in Makkah to interact with the intending pilgrims.

The delegation used the visit to assess the welfare and wellbeing of the pilgrims as well as encourage them to remain law-abiding, prayerful and focused on the spiritual significance of the Hajj exercise.

The Amirul Hajj reassured the pilgrims of the Sokoto State Government’s commitment to ensuring a successful and hitch-free Hajj operation for all pilgrims from the state.

The pilgrims appreciated the visit and commended the delegation for its continuous support and concern towards their welfare.

As preparations intensify for the movement of pilgrims to Minna for the 2026 Hajj, the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency Committee on Arafat and Minna has successfully allocated tents for intending pilgrims to ensure a smooth and hitch-free exercise.

Similarly, the 2026 Hajj Media and Publicity Committee has established the State Media Centre in Minna to enhance information dissemination and proper coverage of Hajj activities involving Sokoto State pilgrims.

The Agency remains committed to the welfare, comfort and effective coordination of all pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.
