DEVOTIONAL READING: LEVITICUS 11:44
“for i am the lord your god: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for i am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

beloved, one of the central themes of the book of leviticus is the call to distinction. god repeatedly instructed his people to live differently from the nations around them. their lifestyle, choice, and conduct were meant to reflect the holiness of the god they served. holiness is not merely about avoiding certain behaviours; it is about aligning our lives with the character of god. to be holy means to be set apart for divine purpose. it means living with the awareness that our lives belong to god.

child of god, distinction requires discipline-the discipline to choose righteousness even when it is unpopular, and the courage to live according to god’s standards rather than human expectations. when believers walk in holiness: their decisions are guided by truth, their conscience remains sensitive, their relationship with god grows deeper. holiness protects the soul. it keeps the heart aligned with heaven and preserves spiritual sensitivity. dear reader, your life is meant to be a reflection of god’s character.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: do not be afraid to live differently. holiness is not a burden - it is a privilege. when you walk in distinction, you become a living testimony of god’s transforming grace.

DEVOTIONAL READING: DEUTRONOMY 16:16
“Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty.”

Beloved, one of the greatest dangers of human nature is forgetfulness. People easily remember pain, disappointment and struggles, yet quickly forget blessings, victories and divine help. That is why God established seasons of remembrance for the children of Israel to keep gratitude active within their hearts. The feasts and gatherings were not empty religious activities; they were opportunities to reflect on God’s goodness, protection and provision.

Child of God, reflection helps individuals remain humble and appreciative. Appreciation should not remain hidden in the heart, it should be communicated through words, actions, service, and giving. Dearly beloved, never lose the habit of thanksgiving. A grateful heart attracts peace, joy, and renewed strength. Take time regularly to reflect on your journey. Count your blessings, remember answered prayers, and appreciate the people who have supported you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A thankful heart sees blessings where others see only problems.

TOPIC: ARE YOU READY TO LEARN FROM GOD?

DEVOTIONAL READING: JOB 23:10
“But he knoweth the way that I take; when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold”.

We may lack one or more qualities we need; to be what we meant to be. The good news is that God is the best trainer in the universe. Through the process of training, missing traits can be acquired. Beloved, God hardly uses those He has not trained. Before He pushes you into the battle front, He will first ensure that your fingers have been groomed to fight. Psalm 144:1 says, “Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight”.

Beloved, God decides the place and duration of your training, if you easily cooperate with Him, you may not exceed your appointed training period. But if you prove to be tough, stubborn or slow at learning, you may extend the divine time table. Before using Moses, God arrange for him to go through formal education in the Land of Egypt for 40 years. Moses learnt meekness and patience through the tough task of leading sheep. What you cannot learn from men, God may send you to learn from animals.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Do you learn from events, situations and circumstances that you go through?

TOPIC: BELIEVE IN GOD’S PROMISES

DEVOTIONAL READING: 1 JOHN 2:25
“And this is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life”.

Child of God, Deuteronomy 7:14 says, “There shall not be male or female barren among you or among your cattle”. God is a liar, since the word has gone out of His mouth; He is committed to fulfilling it. If you are a child of God and you are going through a situation, it is only a phase, it is just for a limited time; soon God’s word shall prevail over that situation and you will be fruitful.

Beloved, today, some church members find it difficult to believe their pastor because they lack integrity. God remains faithful; He has the ability, capacity and integrity to fulfill any promise He makes even beyond our expectations. Dear reader, how far can you go in believing God? Do you take Him at His word, or do you just fold your arms waiting to see before believing like doubting Thomas.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Some promises of God to us are far greater. Hence, God should be believed.

TOPIC: BE AN EFFICIENT TIME MANAGER

DEVOTIONAL READING: PsSALM 90:12
“So, teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”.

Child of God, time never stops flowing; it is a process that flows non-stop like a river: it is always on the move. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens”: When it’s sunrise, before long, it will be sunset. One lesson here is that we must never waste our time. Some people talk of “killing time”. Time never dies, those who claim to kill time are only working against the natural order and therefore killing themselves.

Beloved, Ecclesiastes 1:4 says, “One generation passeth away and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth forever”. The moment a child is born, he or she begins a journey to the grave. So, what that child does between birth and death is entirely his responsibility. This is why we need wisdom to be able to maximize our time on earth.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If your minutes, hours and days are effectively occupied, you will end up as an efficient time manager.

TOPIC: GUARDING THE HEART

DEVOTIONAL READING: LEVITICUS 15:31
“Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.”

Beloved, in our opening scripture, God reminded Israel that His presence dwelt among them. Because His tabernacle was in their midst, their lives had to reflect reverence and cleanliness. Their physical discipline symbolized a deeper spiritual reality - the call to live with a pure heart before a holy God. Purity is not merely about outward behaviour. It begins in the hidden places of the heart - our thoughts, motives, desires and attitudes.

Child of God, Jesus emphasized this same truth when He taught that defilement begins within the heart before it appears in outward actions. Dear reader, God desires that His presence dwell with us, just as His tabernacle dwelt among Israel. When the heart remains pure and surrendered, His presence becomes more evident in our lives. Beloveth, guard the conditions of your heart. What grows within your thoughts and attitudes will shape your future.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Invite God daily to purify your heart and align your desires with His will. A heart that pursues purity becomes a dwelling place for God’s presence.

DEVOTIONAL READING: NUMBERS 26:2
“Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers’ house, all that are able to go to war in Israel”.

Beloveth, God instructed Moses to number the people, not to celebrate their size, but to assess their strength and preparedness. Wise individuals periodically pause to examine their lives. They assess their habits, priorities, relationships, and commitments. Growth becomes sustainable when reflection becomes a regular practice. Opportunities often arrive suddenly, but readiness determines who can seize them. Those who prepare faithfully are able to step forward confidently when the moment comes.

Child of God, take time to examine your life regularly. Strengthen your preparation, clarify your purpose, and position yourself for the opportunities ahead. Without evaluation, progress can become directionless. Do not wait for change to force evaluation. Choose to reflect willingly. Review your goals, strengthen your habits, and prepare yourself for the next level of responsibility. Preparation determines progress.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every person counted had a role to play. No one was included without purpose. Preparation today determines opportunity tomorrow.

TOPIC: TEMPTATION BEGINS WITH NEGOTIATION

DEVOTIONAL READING: NUMBERS 22:12
“And God said unto Balaam, thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed”.

Beloved, not every influence in life is loud or obvious. Some influences are subtle, appealing, and persistent. They may come in the form of opportunity, reward, pressure, or persuasion. At first, they may appear harmless, but if they conflict with truth and integrity, they can quietly lead a person away from the right path. Dear reader, temptation often begins with negotiation.

Balaam was clearly instructed not to go with the messengers who wanted him to curse the people. The instruction was direct and unmistakable. Yet the repeated offers and promises began to create inner conflict. Instead of standing firmly on the first instruction, he entertained the possibility of reconsidering. This passage also teaches the importance of guarding the heart. The heart is influenced by desires, ambitions, and expectations. When those influences are not managed carefully they can shift priorities and lead to poor decisions. Child of God, guard your heart carefully. Stay true to your values, even when opportunities seem appealing.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When faced with pressure to compromise, pause and reflect on your principles. Choose integrity over convenience. The right decision today protects your future tomorrow.

TOPIC: TRIAL AND TESTING

DEVOTIONAL READING: 1 PETER 4:12
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange things happened unto you”.

Child of God, who do you think will be responsible for bringing the trials and temptations? Whose ministry is it? Our trials and testings are associated with the word of God, at the ministry of Satan. It was for this reason that God made Satan as an instrument capable of performing essential tasks in the lives of men. For in Satan, God literally created a chastening rod (Isaiah 54:16).

In Psalm 119:71, David said, “It is good for me that I have been afflicted that I might learn thy statutes”. Beloveth, no man can be declared strong until he has been tested for weakness. No man can be an over-coming son of God until he has encountered THE TEMPTER and come forth victorious. Everything in this world is starring at you, to choose between its right or wrong, its truth and error, its good or bad, its life and death: one must overcome the other (Deuteronomy 3:15-19).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The purpose of God trying Job was not to destroy him, but to bring out the gold in him.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: O Lord, please give me a heart of gratitude, in the name of Jesus.
