HEAVEN'S HELP!
It has been said, that, ‘heaven helps those who help themselves’ but the opposite seems to be more correct. It seems more appropriate to say that, ’heaven helps those who cannot help themselves. Before you engage yourself in endless argument, take a look at this story.
A particular shepherd who tended his sheep and goats at the base of a mountain. At a particular time, one of his animals strayed to the mountain top and was unable to descend. After a frantic search, the shepherd found the animal stranded at the edge of the mountain top bleating, running and struggling. Rather than rushing to help the poor animal, the farmer descended without the animal.
For three days or there about he would ascend the mountain top on several occasion and descended without the animal. By the fourth day the animal had become so weak from hunger and exhaustion, having been struggling to save itself but to no avail. This time around the shepherd went up the mountain top and straight to the animal, lifted it up to his shoulder and descended with it.
The man’s son who obviously was surprised at the attitude of his father asked why his father had allowed the animal to go through all those sufferings and pains before rescuing it. In answering, the man said, ‘If I had rescued the animal four days ago I might ruin both the animal and myself because in its desperate move to escape danger we might both fall off the cliff. ‘Now is the appropriate time, now that its strength has gone, ‘NOW THAT IT CANNOT HELP ITSELF’, help is more appreciated so I could bring it down without any risk to the animal nor to myself.’
Sound interesting? Yes, but there is something more profound in the story than the story line. It may be that you have strayed away from your maker and your destiny has been in shamble. May be you have been struggling to make you life meaningful all by yourself. You may have lost direction in life. Yours may be burdens of life too heavy for you to bear. ‘All we (at one time or the other) like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way…..’Isaiah 53:7 (emphasized mine)
Dear reader, if you will accept the truth, your struggle is needless. Heaven’s help is readily available but you need to be willing. The strayed animal in the story above would have been rescued four days earlier if it had been submissive. Until that animal surrendered, help though was starring at it in the face could not come.
The grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men and Jesus is that grace of God. The bible said, ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life` John 3:16
Are you desirous of Heaven’s Help? Do you want rest from your burden? Would you that your life be made meaningful? If your answers to these questions are yes, say this prayer and mean it from the bottom of your heart.
LORD JESUS, I believe that you are the Christ, the son of the living God who has come to the world to save us from our sins and reconcile us with God the father, Lord I sincerely accept your lordship over my life and receive you into my heart as my Lord and personal Saviour, send the Holy Spirit into my heart and cleanse me of all impurities of mind and body and help me live worthy of your name henceforth as a child of God. Thank you for saving me. Amen
