*ABOVE ONLY DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*BY: ARCHBISHOP M. E. BENSON IDAHOSA*

*TUESDAY, MAY 12TH, 2026.*

*FILL YOURSELF WITH THE REVELATION OF THE LOVE OF CHRIST*

*Ephesians 3:17-19, John 17:26 (GNB) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. *I made you known to them…that the love you have for me may be in them, and so that I also may be in them."*

One major thing the world is ignorant about is the love of God. God’s love is so amazing, and it is so awesome. It is infinite, immeasurable, and limitless. The love of God is so wide, so deep, so long, and so high! It is beyond what can be fully understood by the human mind. It is revealed to us as we focus on Christ, and it is spread or poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Rom. 5:5).

As we experience more of this revelation of the love of God something deep happens to us on the inside. First, there is a divine pull that we have towards God, (Jer.31:3). We understand how deep and unconditional God’s love for us is and it makes us always run towards Him and never away from Him, even if we fall, (1John 2:1-2). His love makes us confident that He will meet all our needs and answer all our prayers, (Matt.7:11). We are confident that all His promises are already our reality and as we hold on to Him, they will become our experience.

God’s love makes us more than conquerors in whatever situation we find ourselves in. God’s love constrains us to make sacrifices to please Him and do His will (2 Cor. 5:14). His love also makes us more like Him. We begin to reflect His love to others even if they don’t deserve it and we can overcome evil with good (Rom. 12:20-21).

*Prayer Focus:*

Ask God to fill you with the revelation of His love and ask Him to help you remain st

Today’s Health Seminar in church was impactful and inspiring as we focused on Christ to make great impact in healthy living. We were reminded that caring for our health is part of honoring God and living a purposeful life.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the seminar. May we continue to grow spiritually, mentally, and physically through Christ.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health…” — 3 John 1:2

CGMI ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL MANUAL

CENTRAL THOUGHT:
Let your speech build lives in the home.

DATE:
SUNDAY 10TH MAY, 2026

HYMN:
S. S & S 661.- My times are in Thy Hand.

TOPIC:
MAINTAINING EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN THE HOME. (Part 2]

TEXT: Col.3:8-16.

INTRODUCTION:
Communication is one of the basic building blocks in our relationship. It is through communication that we convey our thoughts, feelings, and
conviction to one another.
Developing good communication skills is critical for successful
relationships, whether parent, child, spouse, or sibling relationship. We
all have had experiences where we have felt heard and understood and we have all had experiences also where we have felt misunderstood and even ignored.
Generally, when we feel heard, we are less angry, stressed up, and more open to resolving problems than when we feel misundersto od.
Feeling heard and understood also develops trust and care between
people.
In this study, we attempt to know what effective communication means and how they can be
maintained in our homes.

LESSONOBJECTIVES:
The objectives of this lesson are to:-
1. examine some things that can affect good communication;
2. practically discuss some barriers to effective communication in the home and way ofresolution; and
3. Identify ways of sustaining effective communication in
the home.

BIBLE TRUTH:
Q1. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT CAN GET IN THE WAY OF GOOD COMMUNICATION?
- When we assume we know what others are thinking, or that they should know what we are thinking
(Presumptuousness).
- When we focus on what we want to say while others are talking instead of listening to them (Self-centeredness).
- When we bring up other problems and issues unrelated to the topic at hand (Diversion).
- When we assume we know what is right for others and try to convince them of this(Assumption).
All of these things either keep us from sending a clear message or keep us from receiving the message the other person is trying to send.

Q2. DISCUSS IN PRACTICAL TERMS
HOW EACH OF THE FOLLOWING LISTED BELOW CAN CONSTITUTE BARRIER TO EFFECTIVE
COMMUNICATION, IN THE HOME AND HOW TO RESOLVE THEM?
Gal.5:20-23: Prov.10:12; Rom.15:1-2.
-Anger; Lying; forgetfulness;
Indifference/silence; regrets;
weeping/sentiments; fear/
uncertainty; exaggerations; absence of encouragement/appreciation; domineering tendencies etc.
-The above could be avoided by walking in the Spirit and bearing the fruit of the Spirit.
-Bearing each other's weakness.

Q3. HOW CAN EFFECTIVE
COMMUNICATION BE SUSTAINED IN THE HOME? Am os.3:3;Gen.2:25: Eph.5:21; 4:25;6:4; Prov.15:1-2; Col.3:8-16; James.1:25; 3:2;
1Cor.7:5; 13:3-7; 4:2; Psa.133:1
- Be a doer of the word, no hypocrisy
-Be faithful in all things
- Perfect control of the tongue
-Forbearance
-Submission in the fear of the Lord.

DAILY LIVING APPLICATION:
Effective communication and
understanding of what is
communicated is important for maintaining peace and harmony in the home. It is good to note that what is said is not as important as how it is said. Asoft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words can
stir up anger. Deliberate efforts must be made to maintain or sustain communication in our homes. The home will be haven, if effective communicattion is
maintained.

MEMORY VERSE:
Psa. 141:3
"Set a watch, O LORD, before mny mouth: keep the door of my lips"

DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE:
MON: Edification in the body. Rom.15:1, 2; Prov. 10:12.
TUE: Barrier to effective
communication. Gal.5:20-23.
WED: Meditate on 1Cor.13:3-7
THU: Meditate on James 1:25; 3:2
