*TOPIC : DOES GIVING SEPARATE THE POOR AND THE RICH?*

*TEXT: PROVERBS 19:1*

_Proverbs 19:1 - Better a poor man whose walk is blameless than a fool whose lips are perverse._
_1 Samuel 25:17 - Now think it over and see what you can do, because disaster is hanging over our master and his whole household. He is such a wicked man that no one can talk to him."_
_Psalm 26:11 - But I lead a blameless life; redeem me and be merciful to me._
_Psalm 37:26 - He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed._
_Proverbs 12:26 - A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray._
_Matthew 12:31 - And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven._
_James 2:5 - Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?_
_James 2:6 - But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?_

God designed giving to unite the church. Hence giving is not supposed to separate the rich from the poor.
1. Atonement money. This refers to covenant money which everyone gives equally.
2. Purification offering. Here, you give as you can but with one purpose.
_Leviticus 12:8 - And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean._

3. Widow's might. This is giving even when it is your last.
_Mark 12:41 - Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts._
_Mark 12:42 - But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny._
_Mark 12:43 - Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others._
_Mark 12:44 - They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything--all she had to live on."_

4. Equality giving.
_2 Corinthians 8:12 - For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have._
_2 Corinthians 8:13 - Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality._
_2 Corinthians 8:14 - At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality,_
_2 Corinthians 8:15 - as it is written: "He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little."_

5. Giving that erases division.
_Acts 2:44 - All the believers were together and had everything in common._
_Luke 12:48 - But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked._

*Note the following:*
1. Refusing to give when you can give is a sin.
_Proverbs 3:27 - Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act._

2. Demanding/borrowing from others what you want to give for worship is carelessness.
_Proverbs 14:31 - He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God._

*God's command about giving:*
1. Everyone gives as a demanded but not everyone gives the same.
2. Do not borrow money that you can not return. It blocks your way.
_2 Corinthians 9:7 - Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver._

3. Giving according to your ability.
_2 Corinthians 8:14 - At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality,_
_Galatians 3:28 - There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus._

*TEXT: JAMES 2:1-9*

_James 2:1 - My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism._
_James 2:2 - Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in._
_James 2:3 - If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet,"_
_James 2:4 - have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?_

_2 Corinthians 8:9 - For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich._

*The poor are those who:*
1. Have no plan. Jesus do not like people that are poor and have no plan.
_Deuteronomy 15:9 - Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought: "The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near," so that you do not show ill will toward your needy brother and give him nothing. He may then appeal to the LORD against you, and you will be found guilty of sin._

2. Overlook issues.
_Deuteronomy 24:12 - If the man is poor, do not go to sleep with his pledge in your possession._

3. Overreact to things. When people overreact, they end in poverty.
_Job 20:18 - What he toiled for he must give back uneaten; he will not enjoy the profit from his trading._
_Leviticus 23:22 - "'When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God.'"_

4. Restless and rebellious.
_Leviticus 19:15 - "'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly._

1. Physically poor. You can Identify their poverty by their looks and appearance.
_Ruth 3:10 - "The LORD bless you, my daughter," he replied. "This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier: You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor._

_Job 34:28 - They caused the cry of the poor to come before him, so that he heard the cry of the needy._

4. Poverty by responsibility. There are people that are carrying loads that are bigger than them. This makes them to be poor.
_Job 20:10 - His children must make amends to the poor; his own hands must give back his wealth._

*Who are the poor in the bible?*
1. Material poverty.

2. Spiritual poverty.

*DATE: WEDNESDAY, 20TH MAY,2026*

*TOPIC : THE CHURCH AND GIVING: WHO IS POOR?*

*TEXT: EXODUS 30:1-21*
_Exodus 30:15 - The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives._
_Exodus 30:16 - Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting. It will be a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD, making atonement for your lives."_

From the bible verse, it can seen that:
1. Everyone is expected to give the same.
2. Everyone must give with an agree purpose.
_Exodus 30:12 When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them_ .

3. Everyone should pay with principles.

*What makes up a church in terms of giving?*
1. Giving is part of membership and worship.
_1 Corinthians 16:2 - On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made._
_2 Corinthians 9:7 - Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver._

2. The poor gives the same amount as the rich because it's not about the ability but identity. (Exodus 30:15)

3. The church will be united and the poor will be recognized.
_Galatians 2:10 - All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do._
_Acts 4:34 - There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales_
_Mark 12:42 - But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny._

No one is too poor to worship God in giving. Poor commitments keeps you down and never rising.

Can anybody be separated from giving what others are giving in the church?
Nobody is exempted from giving in the church because it gives God glory.
The two types of giving includes:
1. Principled giving which involves covenant money, dues, levies - _Exodus 30:15_
2. Free will donation
_2 Corinthians 8:12 - For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have._
_Acts 11:29 - The disciples, each according to his ability, decided to provide help for the brothers living in Judea._
_1 Corinthians 16:2 - On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made._

*Lessons:*
1. All in the church is expected to give to open doors and kill poverty.
2. All giving are recorded. Whether it is small or big.
3. Everyone is the church has a part to play. No one is different.
_Proverbs 3:9 - Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;_
_Proverbs 3:10 - then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

*TOPIC : SCATTERING THE SPIRIT OF POVERTY AND DISUNITY*

*TEXT: MARK 3:25*

_Mark 3:25 - If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand._

This enemy comes into ones life to scatter the person's purpose.
*When the spirit of poverty comes upon a person:*
1. It makes him poor. So poor that he can not express himself.
2. It makes him to be obsessed.
3. He is easily vexed.
4. The spirit of poverty attracts excuses.
5. It brings the spirit of regret.
6. Poverty makes one a talkative.
7. Poverty yokes a person more to poorer people.
Nothing works where there is disunity. Poverty and disunity are the major destroyers of the church. Poverty is more of a mentality than having physical cash. Riches is important if you can. Cancel disunity.
*Things that brings about disunity :*
1. Disagreement causes disunity.
2. Insult.
3. Stupidity or foolishness.
4. Unidentified manners.
5. Nominating people of same character.
6. Information carriers.
7. Teachers with itchy ear.
8. Yoked in fear.

*Three ways of breaking the mentality of poverty:*
1. Repentance and cleansing. Cleansing will make you humble. Humility is the first step to repentance. when you have repented you must deal with unforgiveness, bitterness and Kill greed.
_John 17:17 - Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth._
_2 chronicles 7:14 - if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land._

When you become obedient, you should also be cleansed from idolatry. Idolatry entails loving the flesh more than God.
_Ephesians 4:27 - and do not give the devil a foothold._

b. The word of God and agreement.
_Matthew 18:18 - "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven._
_Matthew 18:19 - "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven._
_Deuteronomy 28:12 - The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none._
_Philippians 4:19 - And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus._

3. Work in the house of God. Be a giver and not just a receiver. The highest form of poverty is neglecting people around you.
_2 Corinthians 9:8 - And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work._

*To kill the spirit of disunity:*
_John 17:21 - that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me._
_Ephesians 4:3 - Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace._

1. Practical obedience.
_Proverbs 21:5 - The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty._
_Luke 6:38 - Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."_

2. Love is one thing that make the unity to grow.
_Colossians 3:13 - Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you._
_Matthew 12:43 - "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it._
_Matthew 12:44 - Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order._
_Matthew 12:45 - Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation."_
_Ephesians 4:2 - Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love._
_Ephesians 4:3 - Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace._

*Watch for the new fruit:*
1. Have Peace in your heart.
2. Clarity: learn to be clever in what you are doing.
3. Have a heart to give not to beg and receive.
4. Learn to reconcile with others and work with them.

_Matthew 18:15 - "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over._
_Matthew 18:16 - But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'_
_Matthew 18:17 - If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector._

Advice for a wise Christian to conquer accusers.
1. Keep records of whatever you are doing.
2. Keep the tone of Christ as in your response to things.
3. Keep praying.
4. Make it work in a right way.
_1 Corinthians 14:40 - But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way._

Four things that is noticed in the life of accusers:
1. They see you as an angel and it condemns their whole life.
2. They are not happy with you because the secret they know about you is working against them.
3. They seek for attention to attract more enemies around you.
4. Your excuses, complains and fighting back makes you lose what you have.

What to do when you are in mess by the accusers:
1. Document the pattern.
2. Have two elders or witnesses as friends.
3. Let your utterances be guided by wisdom and scripture.

People who faced manipulation/accusations:
1. Job.
2. Judas.
_Philippians 2:13 - for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose._

*TOPIC : BIBLICAL WAYS OF SCATTERING ACCUSERS AND MANIPULATORS.*

*TEXT: REVELATION 12:10*
_Revelation 12:10 - Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down._
_Psalm 54:3 - Strangers are attacking me; ruthless men seek my life- men without regard for God. Selah_
_Psalm 54:4 - Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me._

The real weapons of the enemy are manipulation and accusations. Do not allow the enemy to use this weapons against you.

Ways in which you can go to the court of God to judge accusers and manipulators:
1. Stand on the blood of Jesus. Bring your self to the sanctification by Christ.
_Hebrews 12:24 - to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel._
_Colossians 2:14 - having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross._
_Romans 5:9 - Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!_

2. Use the word of God. Use it as an evidence.

_Romans 8:33 - Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies._

3. Break the covenant of every form of manipulation.
_Isaiah 58:6 - "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?_
_Colossians 2:15 - And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross_ .
_2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;_

4. Walk in righteousness and integrity.
_Psalms 18:20 - The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me._
_Psalm 18:21 - For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I have not done evil by turning from my God._
_Psalm 18:22 - All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees._

_Acts 24:16 - So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man._

5. Release the judgement of God against the accusers.

*TOPIC : PRAYERS AND ITS PATTERN FOR SCATTERING THEM(THE ENEMY): THE BLOOD*

*TEXT: EXODUS 12:13*

_Exodus 12:13 - The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt._

Spiritual warfare entails fighting a battle which you do not see but the battle sees you. Scattering them becomes easy when we use the blood. The blood is life and life is blood.
_John 6:63 - The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life._

The blood:
1. Gives boldness.
2. Lead you to the right path.
3. Observe your love and commitment.
4. Is an Obligation to regulate standards.
5. Gives you the power to dominate.

_Philippians 2:9 - Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,_
_Philippians 2:10 - that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,_

STEPS THAT CAN BE USED TO APPLY THE BLOOD :
_Ephesians 6:12 - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms._

1. Use the blood of Jesus as a legal ground. Acknowledge and testify that the blood will speak for you.
_Colossians 1:20 - and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross._
_Colossians 2:14 - having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross._
_Leviticus 17:11 - For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life._
_Hebrews 12:24 - to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel._

2. Plead the blood over every entry point. The power is in your words. (Exodus 12:13). Before pleading the blood, let there be peace in your heart.
_Isaiah 53:5 - But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed._

3. Use the blood to silence accusation. No one will accuse you when they have nothing to gain.
Zechariah 3:1-6
i. Acknowledge who you're before God
ii. Cause a standard to measure who you are.
iii. Cross the lines and ask for mercy where you didn't do well .
iv. Understand the sentence before you open your mouth to speak.
v. Sanctify yourself to the word of God that you study.
vi. Avoid hatred, evil association and anger.

TO SUCCESSFULLY USE THE BLOOD OF JESUS:
1. Confess every known sin
_1 John 1:91 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness._

2. Plead the blood
_Revelation 12:11 - They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death._

3. Declare the word.
_Romans 8:33 - Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies._

4. Renounce every evil.
_Isaiah 54:17 - no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD._

5. Draw the blood line and cancel every evil line:Set boundaries and discipline yourself.
_Exodus 12:22 - Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. Not one of you shall go out the door of his house until morning._

6. Combine the blood with the word.
_Psalm 149:6 - May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,_
_Psalm 149:7 - to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,_
_Psalm 149:8 - to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,_
