PRESS RELEASE
Diocese of Evo Mothers’ Union Organises Pre-Conference Free Medical Outreach!
The Diocese of Evo Mothers’ Union (MU) has organised a pre-conference free medical outreach as part of its 2025 Maiden Conference, holding at St Philip’s Anglican Church, Oro-Igwe District.
They provided free medical services to the local community, dedicating their evenings to an impactful evangelism rally.
The conference venue was transformed into a bustling health clinic yesterday, 3rd December 2025, offering free medical screening and basic treatment to hundreds of residents, particularly women, children, and the elderly.
A team of doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists and pharmacists—many of whom are MU members and delegates—provided the following services:
General health checks: blood pressure and blood sugar testing.
Consultations: physician consultations for common ailments.
Medication: distribution of necessary prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
Health education.
As the sun set, the focus shifted to the spiritual dimension of the conference. The evening evangelism rallies were designed to share the gospel and encourage deeper family faith—one of the core missions of the Mothers’ Union.
The conference’s dual focus—caring for the body during the day and nourishing the soul in the evening—perfectly captures MU’s mission of transforming lives through action, community, and faith.
The President of the Mothers’ Union and wife of the Diocesan Bishop, Dr Mrs Chinyere Uchenna Ordu, FCAI, JP, was on hand to inspect the medical outreach.
The conference proper begins today, Thursday, 4th December 2025, with the theme: “Equipped to Make a Difference” (2 Corinthians 9:8).
The conference will conclude on Sunday, 7th December 2025, with a Thanksgiving Service at the conference venue.
