HOW CAN YOU CONTROL YOUR TONGUE
TO control the tongue, we need to fill our hearts with the word of God, reverently yielding to the Holy Spirit. We must constantly study, meditate and speak the words of God. We are encouraged to use our tongue to write God's word on our heart because as is stated in the scriptures, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks " Matt 12:34. The book of proverbs 3:3 urges people not to let mercy and truth forsake them. Instead they should bind them about their necks, and write them upon the table of their hearts. The psalmist shows how to write the word on our hearts in psalm 45:1 saying.... My tongue is the pen of a ready writer ", connecting these scriptures further, Joshua says : Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth " but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein : for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success ", TO MEDITATE MEANS " TO MUTTER, TO SPEAK, TO STUDY, TO TALK, GOD WANTS US TO MUTTER, SPEAK, TALK, UTTER HIS WORD DAY AND NIGHT. The word of God is seed, Mark 14:14 says that the sower sows the word.. Whatever u say is a seed. If u quote God's word, God's ability will get to work for you, if you speak the words of the evil one, the devil's will work for you. It is your choice, The angels respond to the voice of his word. PS. 103:20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. THE POWER OF DEATH IS IN YOUR TONGUE, THE POWER OF LIFE IS THERE ALSO. DEUTERONOMY 30:19. I CALL HEAVEN AND EARTH TO RECORD THIS DAY AGAINST U, THAT I HAVE SET BEFORE LIFE AND DEATH, BLESSING AND CURSING : THEREFORE CHOOSE LIFE, THAT BOTH THOU AND THY SEED MAY LIVE.
