📖 Episode 5: “The Notebook and the Note”

The woman’s name was Sister Mercy.

Not a coincidence.

Dara didn’t speak much — just nodded, wiped tears, and listened as this stranger shared parts of her past:
teenage pregnancy, rejection, two su***de attempts, and the night she screamed at God from a gutter in Lagos.

> “He didn’t strike me down,” Mercy said with a soft smile. “He picked me up. Covered my shame. Called me His daughter again.”

Before leaving, Mercy placed the small notebook into Dara’s trembling hands.
“Read it later,” she said, “when you’re alone. It helped me when I couldn’t hear God’s voice.”

Dara watched her walk out the coffee shop door — just like that. No questions, no judgement, no phone number.

Just… love.

Back in her dusty room, Dara finally opened the notebook.

Inside were handwritten prayers, scriptures, and a folded note.
The note read:

> “Dear daughter of the Most High,
This detour doesn’t define your destiny.
The same God who saw Hagar by a desert well sees you now.
He hasn’t given up. Neither should you.”

Signed at the bottom:
– Someone who finally believed again

Dara covered her face. The tears wouldn’t stop.

Maybe this was how God speaks. Not through lightning, but through letters. Not through thunder, but through strangers named Mercy.

🙇‍♀️ Reflection:
God often writes through human hands and speaks through broken voices. Never underestimate what one word of hope can do for a soul on the edge.

📖 Episode 4: “The Stranger in the Coffee Shop”

Dara hadn’t slept. The mattress itched and the ceiling fan clanked all night like a ticking clock of guilt.

By morning, her eyes were red, and her heart felt heavier than her bag.
She needed air… and caffeine.

The small coffee shop down the road was quiet. Smelled like cinnamon and old books.
Dara picked the corner seat near the window and ordered the cheapest thing on the menu — hot water and two sugar cubes.

She wasn’t there for the coffee.

She just wanted to disappear.

A few minutes later, a woman sat across from her — uninvited. She looked about 40. Kind eyes. Wore a wooden cross.

“I hope you don’t mind,” the woman said, “This is my favorite spot. But you look like you could use a listening ear more than I need a chair.”

Dara blinked. Said nothing.

The woman placed a small notebook on the table and smiled.

“I used to be you,” she said softly. “Running. Angry. Empty. But God found me.”

Dara's heart skipped. She stared at the notebook. On the cover, it read: "To the girl who thought she had gone too far.”

Tears welled up again. She hadn’t said a word… yet this woman knew.

🙇‍♀️ Reflection:
God has a way of sending messengers to lost souls — not always in pulpits, but sometimes across a coffee table.
He sees you even when you think you’re invisible.

📖 “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” – Psalm 107:20

📖 Episode 3: “The Room That Smelled of Smoke”

---

The tiny guest room she found on the outskirts of town smelled like smoke and mildew.
There were burn marks on the curtain, and the fan buzzed with a stubborn rattle, like it was too tired to spin.
But Dara didn’t care.

It was far from home.
Far from sermons.
Far from her father’s eyes.

She threw her bag on the squeaky mattress and finally let the tears fall.
No one to pretend for.
No one to smile at.

Just her… and the silence.

She turned her phone on for the first time in two days.

17 missed calls.
9 messages from Mom.
One from her dad:

> “Wherever you are, remember: there’s no shame that Jesus can’t cover. We love you.”

She dropped the phone like it burned her.
She didn’t want love.
She wanted escape.

Later that night, with only a flickering bulb and a pounding heart, she whispered the first prayer she had said in months:

> “God… if You’re real… show me You haven’t given up on me.”

Silence.

Then suddenly… the room flickered.
The fan stopped rattling.
And for a moment, the stillness felt warm — not empty.

---

🙇‍♀️ Reflection:
Sometimes God doesn’t answer with thunder — but with peace in a smoky room.
Even in rebellion, He speaks… softly, patiently, mercifully.

📖 Episode 2: “Running from the Altar”

(Based on Luke 15:13 & Jonah 1:3 – Running never ends well)

---

Dara sat stiffly on the front pew of the church, surrounded by voices singing “I Surrender All.”
She hadn’t surrendered anything.
In fact, she was planning her escape.

The choir harmonized behind her, the choir she used to lead with tears running down her face. But today, she didn’t sing — she couldn’t.

Her father stood behind the pulpit, preaching with the fire he was known for:

> “Sin always costs more than you're willing to pay! But God is merciful...”

Dara’s chest tightened.
She clutched the envelope in her purse — it had a note for her parents and some cash she'd saved secretly.
Her phone was off.
Her bag was already packed, hidden behind the bushes by the church fence.

She had to leave. She needed to breathe.

Dara was tired of pretending. Tired of the expectations. Tired of looking like light while living in darkness.

When the benediction came, she didn’t wait. She walked briskly out of the church like she needed fresh air — and kept walking.

As she reached the back fence, she bent to grab her bag.

“Dara?” a voice called behind her.

She froze.
She turned slowly… it was her father.

His eyes dropped to the bag in her hand. His face said what his mouth didn’t.

“Is there something you want to tell me?” he asked gently.

Her lips trembled. “No,” she whispered.

But inside… she was screaming.

---

🙇‍♀️ Reflection:
Running may feel like freedom — but it's often fear in disguise. God doesn’t call us to hide. He calls us to return.

📖 “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” – Psalm 139:7

Episode 1: “The Secret She Buried”

She stood in front of the mirror, biting her lip so she wouldn’t scream.
The two red lines stared back at her from the pregnancy test like twin blades slicing through her world.

“God, no… not me,” she whispered.

Not Dara.
Not the church keyboardist.
Not the pastor’s only daughter.

Her hands trembled as she shoved the test into a tissue, then stuffed it under the pile of devotionals on her desk — the same desk where she once studied her Bible for hours and wrote journal entries that ended with “Lord, use me.”

But today, the only thing on her lips was silence — and shame.

She heard footsteps coming down the hallway. It was her mother.
“Dara, morning devotion in 5 minutes,” she said, her voice muffled through the door.

“Coming,” Dara replied quickly, forcing the shakiness out of her voice.
She looked at her reflection one last time.
Mascara hid the circles under her eyes.
A fake smile masked the storm in her soul.

She opened her Bible, hoping the Word would fall on something comforting.
It landed on Psalm 51:10 — “Create in me a clean heart, O God…”
She slammed it shut.

Too late, she thought. Way too late.

---

🙇‍♀️ Reflection:
Sometimes we bury secrets, hoping they’ll disappear. But even in our darkest hour, God’s light is searching. Not to expose us to shame — but to draw us back to His mercy.

📖 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

Story Title: “The Robe and the Return”

He stood at the edge of the village, heart pounding, clothes torn by time and shame. He had rehearsed his confession a thousand times.
"Father, I have sinned... I am no longer worthy..."

But before he could speak, the old man — his father — was already running. Not walking. Running.

Tears. An embrace. A robe. A ring.
The prodigal had come home — and found not judgment, but love.

🕊️ This is the heart of God.
He doesn’t wait to condemn you. He rushes to redeem you.

📖 “While he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion...” – Luke 15:20

No matter how far you've gone, God's love runs faster, and he is waiting to embrace you if you come to him today.

Like the prodigal son, return to God, and he will restore you into his will for your life

Stay blessed in Jesus name

God’s love is not just a feeling — it’s a gift, a sacrifice, and an invitation. 💖✝️🌍

Out of love, God sent Jesus Christ to die for our sins, so we can be forgiven and have eternal life with Him.
Heaven is not earned by good deeds, but through a personal relationship with Jesus — by repenting of sin, believing in Him, and living a holy life through His grace.

🕊️ He loves you deeply.
🕊️ Jesus died for you willingly.
🕊️ Eternal life is available — but only through Him.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” – Hebrews 12:14

He didn’t just die… He died for you. ✝️💔

On the cross, Jesus took our place — bearing our sin, shame, and punishment so we could be free.
His wounds brought us healing.
His death gave us life.
His sacrifice opened the door to grace.

Don’t rush past the cross today.
Pause. Remember. Be grateful. 🙏

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
