Readings at Mass
Entrance AntiphonDn 3: 31, 29, 30, 43, 42
All that you have done to us, O Lord,
you have done with true judgement,
for we have sinned against you
and not obeyed your commandments.
But give glory to your name
and deal with us according to the bounty of your mercy.
Collect
O God, who manifest your almighty power
above all by pardoning and showing mercy,
bestow, we pray, your grace abundantly upon us
and make those hastening to attain your promises
heirs to the treasures of heaven.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

*Reflection* The word of God softens rocks and soothes emotions. The word is peace and the word breeds peace. The bearer of the word reflects peace and first says "shalom." Meekness becomes a cloak since his/her life style reflects that of a lamb amidst wolves. Being harmless but wise, he/she survives hard times without pouncing on others. The signs associated with his/her life and mission offer relieve from pain - healing the sick and offering hope (the message of the kingdom). He/she respects the will of others but tells them the truth without ceasing. This is who we are called to be but first the word must permeate us because the word is life and the word points towards the kingdom but never to us. We are signs of the kingdom and arrows pointing to it and so we preach the kingdom and not ourselves.
