The Importance Of God’s Presence
Introduction
One of the greatest blessings a believer can experience is the presence of God. More valuable than riches, success, or fame is the assurance that God is with us. Throughout Scripture, men and women were transformed, strengthened, protected, and guided by His presence.
Key Text
“And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” — Exodus 33:14 (KJV)
Without God’s presence, ministry becomes empty, worship becomes routine, and life becomes burdensome. But with His presence comes joy, peace, power, direction, and victory.
I. The Importance of God’s Presence
1. God’s Presence Gives Rest and Peace
When God is present, fear and anxiety lose their power.
“And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” — Exodus 33:14 (KJV)
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” — Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
God’s presence calms troubled hearts and gives assurance in difficult times.
2. God’s Presence Brings Fullness of Joy
True joy is not found in possessions but in fellowship with God.
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” — Psalm 16:11 (KJV)
The world offers temporary happiness, but God’s presence brings lasting joy.
3. God’s Presence Brings Protection
The presence of God acts as a shield around His people.
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee...” Isaiah 43:2 (KJV)
“The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” — Psalm 34:7 (KJV)
God never promised believers a trouble-free life, but He promised to be with them through every storm.
4. God’s Presence Gives Power and Victory
Many battles in Scripture were won because God was with His people.
“If God be for us, who can be against us?”
