🌿✨ Memories of Our Beautiful Village Days ✨🌿
Looking at this picture brings back so many sweet memories of our village life in the olden days, especially during Christmas time. Those were the days when life was simple, pure, and full of love.

There was no borehole then. If you wanted water, you went to the stream. But it never felt like stress. It was joy. Nobody went alone. Once one girl decided to go, she would call her friends. The boys too would gather, sometimes just to follow the girl they admired 😊. It was innocent love, full of respect and understanding.

At the stream, we laughed, joked, and helped each other. A friend could fetch water for another friend. Sometimes, we would team up and fill jerrycans for a whole house, just to help. Young girls would see an old woman and decide to surprise her with water or firewood. We swept people’s compounds without being asked. Love was natural. Kindness was normal.
There was no fear of poisoning. No fear of betrayal. Family love was everything.
Neighbours were like relatives. Everyone cared.
During Christmas, the village was alive. People returned from towns and cities. Happiness filled the air. We shared food with friends and family. Children went from house to house saying, “Aunty, do Christmas for me!” 😂 And they would give us ₦5 or coins😃, and we would be so happy.

We wore our Christmas clothes proudly. Even our pants were part of the celebration 😄. I remember mine had a drawing of a mother playing football. I showed it to my friends with joy and confidence. No fear. No shame. No danger.

But today, things have changed. Innocence is fading. Trust is weak. Love is reducing. Simple happiness is becoming rare.
Oh God, I pray for that peace to return. If not in the whole nation, let it return to our homes. Let it return to our hearts. Let it return to how we treat one another.

Can we go back to that love?
Can we modernize it without losing it?
Can we bring back pure smiles, true friendship, and sincere care?
That was our root.
That was our strength.
That was who we were. ❤️
May God help us to rebuild it again.
Amen. 🙏✨
