The formation of the Ascension Apostolic Church was anchored at the feet of Late Apostle L.B. He had a specific divine revelation confirmed by spoken prophesies directing him to establish a ministry different from the Apostolic Church Nigeria. He obeyed and began by sharing his vision with other Men of God among who were:
Pastor P.E.Kine,
Pastor F.K. Nwikpo
Pastor E.S.Neebee (Late)
Pastor E.N. Benwaa (Late) and
Pastor T.D. Iganago. (Late);
who where his Co-Ministers at the Apostolic Church. By April 1981, these Ministers had evangelised the entire Ogoni and Pockets of what is now a mega ministry began to spring up in virtually all villages in the area, and by February 1985, the Ministry extended to other parts of Rivers State, Akwa Ibom State and Cross Rivers State. In earnest, one will be absolutely right to say that the Ascension Apostolic Church started in Ogoni Kingdom, and was formed by a group of ministers from Ogoni headed by Apostle L.B. Nwianah (Late). In the same manner, it will be wrong to assume that the Ascension Apostolic Church is an Ogoni Church. Presently, the Church has spread her evangelical tentacles to the other parts of Rivers State, with established branches in many villages of Emuoha and Obio/ Akpor Local Government Areas including Villages in Abia State. Modalities are in top gear to ensure that more new branches are opened in Bayelsa and Lagos State, including Abuja's Federal Capital Territory. Currently, the church now has a branch in Atlanta, Georgia; United States of America (USA). As of January 2012, The Ascension Apostolic Church has recorded One Hundred and Twenty (120) Branches in Nigeria and the US, with One Hundred and two (102) full-time Ministers and other Evangelists. Plans are in place to reach other parts of Africa, America, Asia, Europe, etc. while staff Capacity development is of a higher priority to the Management.
