*BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE*
TOPIC: *FAITH THAT MOVES MOUNTAINS....PART 2*
BIBLE READING: *MATT. 17:20*
*INTRODUCTION*
In the last study of this series, we learnt that faith that moves mountains relies completely in trusting God to do the impossible. We also discussed the nature of such faith as unwavering, obedient and persistent. Today, we want to study the mustard seed faith and how to grow in it. May the Lord bless us as we conclude the series in Jesus name, amen.
*LITTLE FAITH VS MUSTARD SEED FAITH*
There is a difference between little faith and mustard seed faith (Matt. 17:14–21)
*Little Faith*
1. Little faith refers to a weak faith or a lack of trust and confidence in God’s power and promises. (see Matt. 6:30; Matt. 8:26).
2. Little faith is characterized by doubt and wavering. (Matt. 14:31, Matt. 21:21–22, Jam. 1:6–8).
*Mustard seed Faith*
1. Mustard seed faith is the smallest of faith, yet has the capacity to move mountains. (Matt. 17:20 nlt, Luk. 17:6, Mark 4:31)
2. Mustard seed faith puts total confidence in God, His Word, and His promises alone. (Rom. 4:19-21).
*HOW TO GROW FROM LITTLE FAITH TO A MUSTARD SEED FAITH*
1. Feed on God's Word daily (Rom.10:17, Josh. 1:8)
2. Memorize on God's word daily (Deut. 11:18-20)
3. Practice Obedience in what God's word tells you to do in daily life (James 1:22-25).
4. Pray and ask God to help your unbelief and increase your faith (Mark 9:24, Luk. 17:5 amp).
5. Talk to God all through the day (1 Thess. 5:17, Luk. 18:1).
6. Remember your past victories and blessings (Ps. 77:11-12, 1 Sam. 17:37, Ps. 103:2)
7. Listening to other people's testimonies (Rom. 1:12, John 4:39)
*CONCLUSION*
Little faith is a lack of faith, but mustard seed faith is just the faith we need to start. Mustard seed faith is powerful when rightly applied to God’s infinite ability. God bless you!
