THE UNFORGIVING PRAYER WARRIOR

One of the most common traits among people who pray is unforgiveness and it is just as deadly as it sounds. Sadly, many do not realize the danger it carries. You will often find individuals who pray every day, yet deep within their hearts, they have sworn never to forgive the brother or sister who offended them.

But here’s the truth: you must forgive because you need God to forgive you. “God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Matthew 5:7 NLT). Forgiveness is not always easy; it often feels impossible. That is why when you pray, you should also ask God for the grace to forgive, rather than pretending it doesn’t matter.

Unforgiveness makes your prayer powerless. Jesus gave clear instruction: “When you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them…” (Mark 11:25). Ignoring this command is choosing to block your own prayers.

Unforgiveness is not only a spiritual barrier, it also hinders your personal progress. The longer you hold on to grudges, the more they hold on to you. But when you forgive, you release yourself from chains you didn’t even realize were weighing you down.

So, let your prayer life be marked not just by words, but by a heart free of bitterness. Forgive, and you will find peace, power, and progress in your walk with God.

THE HYPOCRITICAL PRAYER WARRIOR

It is unfortunate that we now have many prayer warriors who perform before men with their prayer gestures rather than commune with God in genuine fellowship.

Jesus already warned in Matthew 6:5 about those who pray only to receive accolades from men. They may appear fervent in prayer, but in truth, they are fervent in showmanship and empty in spirit.

Today, we see men who sweat and strain in public prayers so they can be identified as “men of prayer.” Yet, behind the veil of noise, there is no depth in God. It is risky to occupy a position where you are not equipped.

It is dangerous to stand before men as though you carry fire when heaven knows you are empty. When your prayer life becomes an exhibition, you are exposing yourself to spiritual termination.

Beloved, prayer is not an exhibition, it is intimacy. It is better to be silent with God in the secret place than to roar before men with nothing in your spirit.

The God we serve hates hypocrisy!

If you find yourself in this category this is a call for you to make things right with God. Don’t be ashamed to start over again with God in the secret place, because real fellowship and intimacy are built there. “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1)

Don’t let anyone make decisions for you. Instead, look within and discern what will truly be of great benefit to you. As someone pursuing spiritual growth, you must understand that not every kind of content is meant for you—spiritual content should be your priority.

Paul made it clear that, “All things are lawful, but not all things are expedient.” By now, you should realize that the devil has also released anti-spiritual content, and consuming such content isn’t healthy for your soul.

Go for what will stir up your passion and hunger for God even more. Choose what will constantly remind you of who you are in Christ and bring you into the consciousness of the authority you’ve been given in Him.
