**THEME: The Pursuing Egyptians Destroyed*
*
Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" ( Exo 14:13-14).
Through God's mighty acts, Pharaoh of Egypt with his chariots and horsemen were destroyed in the exodus. Exodus is the story of Moses' call by God to rescue His people from oppression in Egypt.
Moses was a messenger in this story but the primary actor was God who gave salvation to Israel. It's a captivating story that mirrors redemption and deliverance of God's people and the destruction of the Egyptians.
The narrative encourages us here and now to expect a speedy and complete deliverance by our God in any trouble or fear. It reassures us of God's work in us and for us. The story showcase's how powerful our God is over all nature and danger we might face in life.
To destroy the enemies, all we need is prayer not physical weapons, because the real enemies are not people of fresh and blood but spiritual wickedness in high places. While the Egyptians came prepared in their chariots and swift horsemen with spears. Israel could only cry unto God to take over.
When God takes over your battle, the enemies will be thrown into confusion. They will be troubled and stroke with panic and fear. Their hands and waists will be weakened. They will be embarrassed at every step they are taking against you. They will perish together with their diabolical activities.
This destruction of the Egyptians symbolizes the destruction of the devil, sin and death by Christ through His death and resurrection. We are no more under the power of death, sin or the devil. This is a supernatural act which God alone can accomplish.
Lord! thank you for the victory you have won for us against all spiritual powers of wickedness, so that whoever is pursuing us will perish on his way, in Jesus name, Amen.
