*Sermon Title: Be a Valentine to Christ*
*Scripture Reference: Matthew 22:37-38*
"Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.’"
*Introduction*
Valentine's Day is often associated with expressions of love and devotion to others. But as Christians, we are reminded of the greatest love ever displayed—the love of Christ for us. The question is, how can we reciprocate that love? How can we be a "Valentine" to Christ, showing Him our devotion, commitment, and affection every day of our lives?
Today, let us reflect on what it means to love Christ wholeheartedly and live as His beloved.
*1. Love Christ with Your Whole Heart*
*Scripture: Proverbs 23:26*
“My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.”
To be a Valentine to Christ, we must give Him our whole heart, not just parts of it. This involves prioritizing Him above all else—above our careers, relationships, and personal desires.
*Application:*
Ask yourself: Is Christ the center of my affections? Am I dedicating time to grow in my relationship with Him through prayer, worship, and meditating on His Word?
*2. Be Faithful to Christ*
*Scripture: John 14:15*
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
Loving Christ means living in obedience to His Word. Just as a loving relationship requires trust and commitment, our relationship with Christ requires faithful living.

Just as two people in love make sacrifices for one another, we are called to forsake sin and the distractions of the world for the sake of our love for Christ.
*Application:*
What habits or actions might be competing with your love for Christ? Surrender them today as an act of devotion.
*3. Share Christ’s Love with Others*
*Scripture: John 13:34-35*
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
True love for Christ manifests in how we treat others. Being a Valentine to Christ means being His hands and feet, showing His love to the world.
*Application:*
This week, intentionally show Christ’s love by being kind, forgiving, and generous to someone in need.
*4. Express Your Love Daily*
*Scripture: Psalm 34:1*
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
Loving Christ isn’t just about grand gestures; it’s about daily expressions of gratitude, worship, and adoration.

Imagine a relationship where only one person expresses love. It would grow cold. In the same way, we must actively communicate our love to Christ through worship and thanksgiving.
*Conclusion*
This Valentine’s season, while we celebrate love with those around us, let us remember the One who loved us first—Jesus Christ. To be His Valentine, we must love Him with all our heart, remain faithful to Him, share His love with others, and express our devotion daily.
Let’s commit ourselves to being vessels of His love and living lives that reflect our deep affection for Him.
*Closing Prayer:*
Lord, thank You for loving us so deeply and unconditionally. Help us to love You with all our hearts, to live in obedience to Your Word, and to share Your love with others.
May we always be faithful and devoted to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
