Excerpt from Day 1, ‘23 Beond Impossibilities

I was at the gathering of married people in Abuja last month.
Hosted by Kinsley Okonkwo and Pastor Mildred.
A very beautiful moment indeed.

But something caught my attention. IN the course of the meeting, we were ask to share (write) on our marriage strength, I mean some of the things we appreciate in our spouse, and suddenly pastor ask a couple to read out what they wrote.

So this couple stood up, they've been married for three to four years I guess, I can't remember the years right now, but one of the things the woman wrote that she does for her husband is, GET HIM A GIFT EVERY TWENTY SECOND DAY OF THE MONTH, yes you read it well. So for the past 3,4, or 5 years they've been together she buys him a gift at that particular day of every month. Wow, wooow, just wow

Where i was seated I was just shouting people can do this marriage ooooo, I mean, She buys him a gift every month, hold on, before you start saying under your breath that 'they have money' no no no, far from it, in fact she was asked what she bought for him for that month of October and the husband said beaded wrist-band, so you see, it didn't have to be something big.

It is her consistency for me.
So even in the month where she feels 'does this man really deserve this gift today? Last night he annoyed me, yesterday he forgot to pick the children on time, does he really deserve this gift today? she fight that taught or that anger or that silence and still present her gift afterall.

I just thought you needed to hear stories like this, I mean these marriages may not be out here on the social space, but helllllllo, they are many sweet marriages out there.
